does anyone have the 3500 battery? im going on a car trip to NY which is 7 hours away and i think ima buy one.
i do. its definitely better. but doesnt last as long as you would think.
Mines last a full day, and then some. Email, browsing, texting, phone calls, Pandora, and a fair bit of Angry Birds. I've yet to kill the battery completely in a single day.
After a full typical days' worth of use, I'm only down to the 40% range.
I have the Seido as well and it gives over 3 days of usage for me with moderate usage (BT on, WiFi On, Exch Sync as they arrive, google every 10 min, screen auto, twitter every 30, buzzbox every 20 and a fair amount of browsing, games and other stuff.)
On a regular battery I get anywhere between 18 and 30 hours for reference.
how about the 1800 battery on sprint's website? any good?
I got the Platinum 3500 battery made by Seidio from Best Buy, and it's pretty awesome. I text all day, every day and it usually takes me a day and a half to run the battery all the way down. That's with Wifi, BT, full brightness, music, some movies, Angry Birds and checking XDA through Tapatalk about every 10 minutes. I would definitely recommend it.
Thanks for all the info! I just ordered it, can u still stick the phone in your pocket? Or is it to fat with the 3500 battery on?
Evo 4G!!!
Yeah, you can fit it in your pocket. I find that it actually makes it easier to hold and to use the kickstand with the 3500 battery. It doesn't make it as big as some people claim.
Its a great investment. U love it. It last for long time. Make sure when u get it that u use it until it goes dead ,and the charge it up

I got the battery from Sprint. It lasts longer than the normal battery. I don't know how everyone is getting over a day of use with it, but then again, I don't know if I am a normal user or not. I do get about 14 hours of use with mine, but I use my phone a lot (streaming Sirius, updating facebook, texts and phone calls, and watching youtube and videos during lunch with rockplayer). Doing that, my phone lasts through the work day.....before, I would have to charge my phone every 2 hours with the normal battery.....

Bought two 3500mAh batteries off of ebay... best decision ever. Can go almost 2 days without charging, of course with a little bit of tweaks http://www.goodandevo.net/2010/05/20-tips-to-improve-htc-evo-4g-battery-life.html
Worth the $10 bucks I spend on each.

But on that note, scientific data vs my personal use... I am a app junkie. I have a couple of 1800mAh, 2000mAh, 3000mAh, and 3500mAh batteries for my Evo. Some are Seidio and others "Chinese batteries." In additional a couple of external chargers. Why? I am in the military and I hate being in the middle of no where with no electrical outlets. Last exercise, I took my 2 3500mAh Chinese batteries fully charged and one external charger. And I was a happy camper. In my personal experience, Seidio batteries were a joke- my OEM lasted longer.
Cool info

Evo 4G!!!
I have the seidio as well. Couple tricks with these larger batteries are as follows.
1. When the charging light turns green, the battery is only at 1500. Keep on charge for about 3 hours longer or more to get full charges.
2. Wipe battery stats. Recovery, advanced, wipe battery stats. When you hit go, screen will go black for about 30 seconds. It's o.k. it's doing the wipe.
3.Condition the battery. Charge all the way, let run down completely till phone dies. Then charge all the way again. Do this bout 3 times. Should condition about 0nce a month to prolong battery life.
Follow these steps and you will love your big battery. I love mine. My Seidio runs bout a day and a half and I am constantly doing stuff with the phone. ENJOY!!!!

i just got mine yesterday and its not lasting long at all, thanks for the tips i already let it die yesterday ima do it 2 more times before my trip on friday thanks!
So, my OG Droid was acting up and my upgrade wasn't due until late july so I decided to purchase a Droid X.
While, I don't have the phone yet, and it is used I was debating whether or not a second battery is necessary as I will have a car charger from my original droid. But, at the same time I have had a second battery with most of my phones for years. But, then again I will most likely be replacing this phone by Sept/Oct the absolute latest.
You might be able to get by on just one battery. It seems the DroidX has one of the best battery lives for Android phones. If you do buy another battery, I would suggest the extended battery. It adds only 1mm to the back of the phone and it gave me around 4-5 hours more battery life than the standard battery. Then you can always have the standard battery on backup if you need some extra juice at the end of the day.
thanks for the tip
On Rubix Focused I can get 24 hours of battery life with heavy use! I have been thinking of getting an extended battery though. It would just be convenient
I have an extended battery and carry the standard battery that came with the DX in my car just in case i ever need to swap..no biggie, convenient.
Hey, I used the BH6X from Motorola and gave me superb life. I got more that 20 hrs (using juice defender) from it. Im now reviewing the 3800mAh that I got off eBay on the X2 forums, you're welcomed to come by since this battery is for both x's. I didnt want to start a whole new thread here in the X forums.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=17751410#post17751410
it really depends how heavily your using your phone and what for
I have 2 Motorola BH5X Standard 1500mAh Batteries I keep on me for backup at all times, which, ever since my sister-in-laws wedding and a trip to disneyland has become the standard for me.
Turns out taking a butt load of pictures and helping my wife manage the people at a wedding required a total of 3 batteries for my phone
Meanwhile, taking a lots of pix at Disneyland with no readily available outlets for my external charger also made 3 batteries the perfect number, especially after recording those late night light shows.
On a regular day though I can stretch out a single battery if I have an outlet for charging nearby or 2 batteries without a charger.
and yeah, I don't restrict data either so that does a number on my charge.
I get around 30 hours on the standard battery but I work from home, doesn't get two hours of streaming use on the way to and from work anymore. When I was driving two hours I would charge it every afternoon on the way home depending on the previous nights use. I also picked up a xoom so I use the phone a lot less now.

I am LUCKY to get 7 hours... I had to get a 2nd battery!
I ended up buying a second battery from Amazon for like 5 dollars and a cheap charger for the battery. Anytime I know I'm going to be out for awhile I take the extra battery. It has saved me a bunch of times.
If you're playing games or streaming movies a lot then I would def get one. With moderate use, I get at least 12 hours on mine
I would advice to replace a factory battery with an extended battery.
This one for instance is 3600mAh Extended Battery by Mugen, at least twice the capacity compared to factory battery. Reliable brand as well.
http://www.mugen-power-batteries.co...y-for-motorola-droid-x-with-battery-door.html
I would recommend one if you use your x constantly more than 4 hours in a single use.

Good luck! Kudos to them not trying to lie about them being 1700mah or something.
Please do report back, this looks like a good deal if they hold a decent charge.
Going on vacation in a couple weeks and these would be good to have around.
thanks, good luck.

I'm definitely interested in what you have to say. I actually added this item to my car a week or two ago after looking at the various options available on Amazon.
i just go these yesterday, im charging them as we speak. they seem to weigh the same as the stock battery as well...
I have these same 1700 batts and they are good to go. With my Rom combo and running the battsave kernel with juice defender I'm lasting a day and a half with moderate usage.

Ok... I have cycled both of them once or twice. One lasts a little longer than the other. The good one battery lasts about 6-8 hours, when comparably I could probably get 8-10 hours with my stock battery. The other seems to last 6 hours or so. I can't say my usage pattern has been normal lately so a little hard to be sure on how good they are. Overall, comparable at best to stock, but for 2 batteries, and the external charger, I am satisfied fro $25. So if you were looking to pull the trigger, its worth $25. I always carry a spare with my now, it is kinda nice, because now I just do whatever I want without regard to battery usage.
By the way, I am in Chicago, 4g everywhere, all the time, and am running BAMF Preview 4 on the MR2 radio. I sync an exchange account (push), one comcast account (updates every 2 hours), plus weather syncs every hour. I usually do web browsing, email, couple phone calls, and a bunch of scrabble and XDA browsing.
Thanks for the info, im definately ordering one today
How does the charger work? does it plug directly into the wall?
Anyone know if can be the problem to have 2 different batteries (1 original and 1 fake 2000 MaH - Which holds much less than the original) and china battery charger?
So I charge 2000 Mah battery over charger, take original from phone when ran out and put it in charger and put 2000 MaH battery in phone and start the phone... and doing that over and over... Can something get wrong with phone by doing that? Can something get wrong with calibration...?
tnx
It's getting late......after a long day waiting for this 3250 mAh battery to go flat, here is my review for what it is worth.
I have been searching for a month to find a battery that had the capability to last me all day. Not a bulky one! One that would fit within the original case. Not make my phone look pregnant.
I wanted a battery that i could Take off charge at 8am being able to last me all day, with LIGHT to MEDIUM usage (not heavy use!), right up until I went to bed at 10 and put it back on charge.
Is this the one??? (battery photos below)
I sourced this one. It just about fits the phone. I had to peel the battery label off at all 4 corners to get it in. It's fits in fine with standard Samsung back on. No bulge. I put in straight into my phone and charged it up to 100% then took it off charge and restarted the phone.
I'm not expecting amazing results on this first drain as I am more than aware it will take 3 to 4 cycles to gain it's full effectiveness. I am however expecting it to beat my standard battery display time on this first drain as it holda 34% more charge and then improve again after 3 more days use!
My stock Samsung battery lasts normally 4 hours display time with light to medium use. I have google location turned off, brighteness to auto and i am running gingerbread LA6. Full Samsung stock fresh out of the box. No root. No mods at all. And I have all the Samsung crap turned on and registered. I have google email with 2 accounts running. I play the odd game, and text and email like crazy. I used Ebay app heavily and also surf the Web lots. There are widgets on all 7 screens running and I always have a heavy usage live wallpaper running.
Phone finally starting to go flat... I will take screen shots of battery use and upload them. With my finally thoughts and finally 1st battery use screen shots as soon as it goes flat.
And obviously I'll look forward to your valued thoughts and views and make use of your experience as I'm new to this.......hopefully won't be too long!
Bye 4 now
1st day results in.
2nd day results in..
Photos of battery weights...
3Rd day results...

I'm actually quite intrigued to hear about this...my boyfriend uses a non branded battery from China for his Galaxy S2 and he's had no problems with it seems. I think he may have got it from ebay too. Combining that with a rechargeable case he never has to worry about recharging his phone. I hope this one works out well.

When I had my SGS2, I bought a 3,500mAh battery from eBay. It lasted longer, but not as long as I expected.
I tested it with a battery analyzer and sure enough, it was 2,413mAh. I bought another two, those only measured out at about 2,100mAh.
Those high mAh ratings you see on ebay batteries are fake.

No fake as in false advertisement! That's not really 3250 or whatever mah. If it was why wouldn't Samsung have made a 3200 or 3500 mah stock size battery? I can get 8 hours and over 5 hours screen on with stock 2500 easy. Usually mine goes all day with 4-8 hours music and 3-5 hours screen and last from 7am to 10pm ... its a scam that battery is maybe 2800 mah if that .....

I've own the SGS3 almost since launch day. Soon it will be 2 years old.
I'm getting 3 hours SOT and 24 hours total.
I'm thinking of buying a new original 2100 battery to see if it improves battery life. Would it?
Anyone has tried this?
Thanks.

I haven't tried it yet since I'm hopefully getting a new phone soon but I do believe it would help, maybe an extra hour SOT because I know my battery was amazing back 2 years ago and now I get the same times you do if not worse.
After a year on mine I was only getting 1700mah, So now I get a new Anker 2200mah battery every 6 months because they are just as good as original but do last longer.
Theoretically yes! battery life should improve, as you will be having a new battery.
My battery is just over a year old and i get around a 1d12h worth of battery time and roughly 3.5 to 4 hours SOT.
I recently bought a Pisen 2100mah battery off the internet and for the same SOT i got more usage. maybe 1d 20h nearing the 2d use.
n.b; wifi is always on. i use 3G for like 30 mins during a day
from what I've heard, newer generations of batteries, like ones that ship with SGS3, should not be drained to 0% with phone shutting down. it was advised to charge at low percents like 1% to 5% while phone is still on

Of course it would and if you dont have problem with size and weight i recomend you to get samsung's 3000mhA battery. Why not getting a bigger battery
It depends how old the battery is though. All Li-ion batteries degrade over time, even if they aren't used. So if you get a 2 year old battery, that has been sitting on a shelf somewhere, it won't help as much as you'd hoped. Depending on the temperature and charge level it was stored at, it could have lost a lot of its capacity.
So the trick is to get a newly manufactured battery, which isn't so easy since most sellers don't write this information.

Since a bigger battery means the battery is thicker, the original back cover wouldn't fit, then you need to use a specific cover which would make your phone heavier.
Right now I am in this trouble,I got a Onite 4500mAh extended battery with a blue cover, hopefully it's a great product, shipping as listed and battery performs exactly as listed,I just don't like the cover,it made my phone looked heavier.I was wondering maybe I should choose a power bank and put back my OEM one on.

This is true. You also need to account for your usage. If you do a lot of activity that heats your battery up (games, navigation, etc.) Then even a shelf stored battery will help since heat is another Li-ion killer.
My S3 was 2 years old in May of this year. I have been having issues with the battery and charging. My USB charging port has the classic loose connection issue as does the headphone jack. I see the fix and YouTube videos to repair but have not yet done that. I last week got my new OEM Samsung battery and the external charging kit. I just upgraded to Kitkat 4.4.2 NDA8 despite being eligible for a new phone discount from Sprint. My S3 is a 32gb unit and I will not buy a S5 with only 16gb, no way no how.
The new battery is performing very well. It is so close on updating to 4.4.2 that I can not be certain that there were not issues with my rooted 4.1.2 build after so many months. For sure the new battery is lasting longer. I think it was worth the $42.03 spent on the charger and battery as my USB port is in question and I can always swap batteries and charge with the external charger.
My S3 has a new lease on life and I can wait for new tech before upgrading. xda developers forum - root - and the desire for liberty is a powerful combination.
why not try using wireless charging? the qi reciever + charger should not cost you mote than 35 bucks. and you can still use your current battery, battery cover, & nfc, unlike powermat.

A 2 year battery will definitely be worn-out. Depending on the charging cycle count, could be only a 20%,but maybe a 50 or 70%.
I bought a Zerolemon 7000mAh battery few months a go, I'm usually getting 4-5 days on normal usage, and 11-13h of screen on.
Best bought I have ever made.
