Extract the current wallpaper how to? - Desire General

Hi there, here's my problem:
My desire had a funny turn and corrupted the sd card loosing all the photos from my honeymoon and first holiday with my wife (before I could back them up). After many attempts it seems impossible to recover them however one of my favorite photos is set as my background saving it (backgrounds are saved on the internal memory.
The question is "is there a easy way to extract my wallpaper without going root as the directory doesn't seem to be accessable."

Well, this might not be a perfect solution, but you can clear your homescreen of all the icons/widgets and take a screenshot by enabling USB debugginfg on your phone and capture the screen via android sdk. I assume you know how to do it.
This will give you a low-resolution version of the photo. You can have it as the worst case if you are not able to recover it in any other way.

Thanks for the suggestion, its an definite option. Its frustrating that I know the location just can't access it!

Just another solution
There is an app called ' wallpaper set and save' free from market. Using it you can extract the current wallpaper and it will be saved in full resolution in a folder called wallpapers.

Large file size photos for Dropbox promotion?

As many of you may know, Dropbox is currently holding a promotion for their new automatic photo upload thing. For every 500mb of pictures I upload, I get 500mb free (4.5GB limit).
I am trying to think of the best / fastest way to do this. I've been looking and looking for high resolution photos, but most all the ones I find are just under 1mb. I'd have to download atleast 500 of them to get the first 500mb. I even began just snapping random photos with my phone, just pressing the camera capture button, over and over and over for a total of 311 times lol. It was nowhere near enough pictures.
Anyone have any advice? Or does anyone have a place for photographs with large file size? To those of you that have already done this, could you tell me what you did to do it?
This may be of interest
I suppose if everyone posted a pic.... maybe you could pool em all into dropbox? First -

Whatsapp error

What went wrong with my whatsapp (see screenshot)? On sense roms it didn't use that much space. Since mild wild, I had this with every version. I also constantly get sort of fc errors when opening the app, with the options close, wait and report.

I have, but it is stored on the sd card. I've already tested that.
What about the fc errors ?

It is very strange.
Have you try to delete the cache and the "database" folder with a file explorer?
T
Make a backup and re-install app.

Yes i have, also tried making backup and reinstall. I even tried this:
http://www.xoomforums.com/forum/off-topic-forum/15846-tips-how-reduce-memory-usage-whatsapp.html
But all with no result
I think this huge amount of memory, is what is causing the fc problems. So i really need to fix this. The fc errors are really starting to annoy me..... Anyone

App name labels disappearing?

When i turn on or restart my phone a random number of the apps in my homescreen folders lose their labels so only the icon shows, it looks like a bug but does anyone know if it is something I can fix? Thanks

I also have this problem. Is due to sense loading before the storage. One work around is to go into settings-applications-all then force stop 'HTC sense' then when it reloads labels return.

Hmmm i had this issue before everytime i plugged my phone into the pc .. might have somethign to do with the SD card unmounting and then not remounting properly .. i moved the apps with missing labels from SD card into internal storage and haven't had the problem since ..

I'm not sure if this will solve it but its a worth a try. Go to settings/apps or app manager then scroll to ALL and then open settings and clear data and cache. And try again. This might wipe your setups.

Note 7 Secure Folder heavy user

I'm a secure folder heavy user. I got a few apps duplicated with my dual sim phone, that way I keep things separate, work and personal. How to get this on another phone?
I don't want to give up my Note 7!
I'd like the know the same thing. As a first time Samsung owner, that feature was very nice for a number of reasons. Any third party options to add this type of functionality to another phone?
Problem with secure folder is that you can't copy stuff back out of it!

Maybe it changed in the last update, but when I tried it,I put a video in there and wasn't able to copy it back out (when I found the Occulus player didn't support opening from secure folders- bummer). A quick bit of research at that point suggested this was the intention of secure folder to not allow security compromise of copying back out of it? Perhaps you can "un"secure it?
Edit: ok just tried again, and if you go into gallery inside the secure folder, there is an option to move out, yay. Didn't spot this option previously.
