Working great on the captivate
the keyboard is working great on the Samsung Captivate. No issues thus far.
The one ported to Nexus one does not install for me.
Can you please tell me where you got it from?

Yes I have this checkbox marked.. also I have Root access on my SGS.
Strange... whould realy like to try the droid x keyboard..
Thanks for the reply Culturelol!
The stock samsung keyboard is also multitouch, you can also do the shift+letter for capital trick
I like the stock Samsung keyboard the keys are smaller so i find i make less mistakes.
Just got that installed on my SGS and it works great. Typing is a lot faster than the Samsung multi touch keyboard. However the prediction and suggestion when tping is not as good as the other input method, is there any way to improve this? Thanks.

It does, but the dictionary has some weird entries so some words don't correct properly. For the most part it is fine though!
Hey...where did you download yours from...cause I installed it on my samsung vibrant and the keyboard works fine but the size of he letters on the keyboard are super small...did you have that happening to you?
I'm very much reliant on Swype now. It even remembers words that aren't English (I use Tagalog a lot). How much does this stack up to Swype? Or am I comparing Apples and Oranges here... or Bananas and Oranges? LOL

You just have to resign them and/or remove any shared uid's they have since ur signing it using testkey's which are incompatible with those that pre-exist for that shareduid.
One thing we are lucky in that TouchWiz 4.0 is the same resolution as TouchWiz 3.0 at 800x480 so we don't have to worry about scaling issues like the guys porting Sense 3.0 to WVGA devices are struggling with.
I've seen some videos of TouchWiz 4.0 and while I traditionally don't like Samsung's UI all that much, I have to admit it looks pretty slick. Hopefully somebody with some skills can get in here and work some magic.
Happy Easter everybody!

Very easy.
Decompile using apkmanager/apktool
Go in the AndroidManifest.xml and remove the sharedUID attribute.
Recompile and resign
Tada (fyi, last i was on touchwiz n on irc got hold of the twlauncher from this "dump", twlauncher fc'd....it seemed to be missing libs so tht'd b ur best bet to try libs from /system/lib.

Will it be possible to change the stock's lockscreen functionality?
Like for example it currently has an unlock-to-messaging-app feature when you have a text notification.
What if I want wanted it to use a 3rd party messaging app instead?
I like the stock lockscreen, and the ones in the market are awful. Will I ever be able to do this?
I have posted this in the Galaxy S Section.

I'm not seeing this file anywhere
Would I have to do anything special with editing the file since I'm on VillainROM?
Try WidgetLocker
my friend bought a brand new samsung galaxy s2
i saw lots of apps in his phone
such as task manager, digital clock...
i'm wondering if i can install those apps in my arc
but i don't know how
can anyone help me out
and please show me what to do
thanks!!
first try to find it on market
and if you dont find it there, then ask some developers to port it onto arc.
i can't find it in the market
i want the apps originally built in samsung s2
how can i ask them to help me?
contact over PM binary, experienceD, freexperia team etc.
Pull the apps out of the SGS II's system and try to install them on Arc
Sent from my iPad 2 using Tapatalk
i've already tried but it didn't work
it says app not installed.
i tried many times still didn't work.
what can i do?
Then it will be difficult.
Apps seem to be only working on the SGS II then. There must be some kind of autorisation in the app.

i send the apps in s2 to my arc and set rw-r--r--
and reboot
but it still doesn't work.but i have tried to change galaxy s2's boot animation and it works!!
the problem seems to be just in the apps.
i can't install them
please teach me if you find a way to install and can perfectly work.
Thank you!!
They will be SGSII specific apps which will need to be ported as they will rely on things like the SGSII framework-res.apk to work. So unless a dev want's to use it or will port it for you you'll have to do without.
thats a good phone!

Why you think that built in taskmanager is good.??
Anyway...android dont need task managers and killers.
Alternativ is download some another taskmanager. Like someone already tell us..samsung apps need samsung frameworks.
And samsung make this framework compatible with samsung devices....

I was just lurking around looking for this feature on our Notes. Would love to have one on our note II and since the original Note had a mod developed enabling this feature, reckon it shouldn't be hard.
So anyone?
I think an alternative would be Multi Window Manager app

Alternative for what, mate? I have that already and it doesn't have the cascade windows option. If it does, how do you enable that?

An alternative to the link you showed for the N7000. But nevermind i just checked the developers comment and he mentioned that although the app works in the n7100, the cascaded windows is only supported on tablet ui. So its safe to assume that for the time being the only way, at the moment, to get this working is to change your UI to tablet. But if there is a better alternative i would like to know too.

This method just brings about more issues than good. Not to mention with the dpi set that low I don't know how anyone can read text on their phones.

Look there's a stock based rom here called Mini Tab it will change your ui to something similar to the Note Tab.
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda premium
Yeah I'm aware of MIniTab using 10.1 interface and seriously thinking of switching to that. Though I'm a bit skeptical as for whether it'd work reasonably well, I guess I'll give it a shot anywho
Interesting thread I found here:

Not working for me though. When I change the android system resolution, still remains the same.
