Source for JPC firmware - Galaxy S I9000 Android Development

Hi All,
Wanting to know if source for the JPC firmware is available anywhere. I need to build some modules and ive tried using generic android 2.6.32.9 source with arm-eabi- cross compiling and it doesnt want to work. compiles fine but insmod fails.
any suggestions?

If its out, it should be there http://opensource.samsung.com/
But at the moment JPC isn't a official release. Think there´s no chance of getting it.

You can get it here:
https://www.wuala.com/Samsung Galaxy S/Firewares , Updates and Odin?key=AfzUZSU4SpKU
I flashed this using Odin and the 512 .pit to be safe but I hear 803 has some good performance. Everything you need to flash is there, credit to Darkstriker.

Cool really can't wait for official release (from kies)
Hmm, it should be 2.2.
Just checked, and it seems to be official.
PDA : DXJPE
MODEM : DXJPB
CSC : DXJPA
(Seems that CSC remains as previously).

Yeah I just plugged in my SGS as well and it popped up with a firmware upgrade.
PDA: JPE
PHONE: JPB
CSC: JPA
... wonder if it'll b a significant upgrade?
@ those who upgrade to JPE, can you try using the kies patcher to get the tar files? I wanna take a look @ some of the changes, particularly the kernel and if there are any sbl.bin file.
Thank you.

Hang on, the Samsung naming convention is different for different regions. Europe got JPO as 2.2 and the asia countries had JPA. And now since JPO users got JPU/JPX/JPY etc.. it makes sense that JPA users should get JP(letter between A and O) since they can't have U/X/Y/Z or JQA.
I'll upgrade later and let u guys know

[ROM] xxjpy deodexed

Hi all
After a long night trying to work out how to deodex I managed it with a little help.
So to save some of you the pain, here is stock xxjpy deodexed.
Means themes should work, also with 30mb less in system works a lil bit better.
Best to flash this rom on a clean phone no lagfix ( re apply that after)
I have also supplied the AOSP lock screen for deodexed roms
This rom will need to be flashed with CLOCK WORK MOD not ODIN.
I will try and make a JS3 version tonight. I will be waiting for the proper JS3 XEU to drop before I make it sorry.
ROM

Lock screen

I think this was needed. Can you make XWJS3 too?
Hi! How do I apply this signed_ROM.zip? With Odin in the PDA section without re-partition selected?

What tool did you use to make rom?
Its made with 2e as you need that to flash roms. But doesn't have extras like voodoo apply that after.
I used deodexer 2.5

Canadian Stock ROM

Hi,
one of my Gio is having problem making calls with Gio Pro, Light Orange and Unofficial CM72.
Anyone knows where I can find the stock ROM for A Bell Canada Gio ? (Android 2.3.4).
Or maybe you can suggest a solution.
Thank you !
ok I found this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1385874
And I flashed it with Odin.
Now Im using a ROM for the S5660M (Bell/Virgin network).
Its here if you can read french: http://forum.frandroid.com/topic/75146-gt-s5660m-bell-canada-arpeggiomod-rom/
The phone can now make calls , is rooted and OC.
Its only because of you flashed gioprio.
It is odin flaahable and haas a baseband file inside, that is specific for the gt-s5660 and not for the M model.
You can flash any custom rom, as long as it doesnt have an amss file inside, wich is only in roms you flash with ODIN

Great news then, thank you !
Thanks Bagbug
You saved my bacon!
I had flashed giopro 1.6 without knowing where it came from, had a clue when it came up in German.
When I went back, realized that the baseband was wonky and had hit and miss connections with Rogers.
Problem solved now that I am back on a Canadian ROM.
Kudos!

I hope the 4.2.2 ROM 5 months ago, Is there any way to install 4.2.2 TIM Brazil in this version? When I try, I get error in Odin in BcmCP.img
I think it's by the bootloader, is there any way to install bootloader on I9080L >> I9082L TIM BRAZIL?
I tried but it gives me error ODIN, and I can not create a flashable by CWM to change the bootloader, I have no such knowledge as does the best user developer chotu222, someone can do it? They would really appreciate it ... thanks guys
well, the only thing what we can do is wait for official support by samsung

Yes, I know, but I could not install the ROM without the modem, I read that the error is because of Kies, I closed processes, tried everything, but could not
here is the 4.2.2 firmware http://samsung-updates.com/device/?id=GT-I9080L is unbranded and full stock is nice ( already installed )

No service after flashing stock kernel compiled from source (JB 4.1.2)

Hi there,
since I didn't enjoy compiling CM10.1 (even if it worked afterwards), I wanted to "start" developing on the stock 4.1.2 kernel but although my build booted, there was no signal.
I downloaded Samsung's source (GT-I8160_JB_opensource) and compiled it with the prebuilt compiler from CM's source (arm-eabi-4.4.3) embedding into the kernel binary the default initramfs from the stock kernel. Deleted caches and the phone booted normally, but the baseband was unknown and no service was present. Reflashing the stock kernel brought back signal and everything worked fine.
Any advice for a novice?
Thanks
try flashing other modem.bin.md5 (from other fw version)

Oooh thank you Rox...
I used the XEO XXMG2 release... but I don't see how would changing the modem solve anything, I mean, which should I use?
--EDIT--
May it be because I flashed the kernel by Heimdall instead of flashing it at runtime via the terminal (and thus the device is not official anymore)?
I forgot to tell that I'm doing all this on the stock ROM.
