[Q] fancy widget alternative - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Thats NOT beautiful widgets

Have you tried Beautiful Widgets?
jk...i think the only other real contender for that type of style would be Weather & Toggle Widget. Used it for like a day or two, but Beautiful Widgets was better suited to my needs.

Freeware ftw

Maybe this...have not tried it myself.

LauncherPro help.

How do you get the htc clock widget and friendstream and stuff on launcherpro? or is it even possible?
Nope, those are Sense Widgets, so if you use LP you can't use those widgets. If you buy LP+ though i think they have similar widgets. You can take a look at them without buying just to check them out.
.. Replacements.
Sense Clock -> Fancy Widgets. Look it up on google.
Friend Stream -> Pure Messaging Widget does similar job.
Pro Version so far has
-Message
-Favorite
-Bookmark
-Calendar
Widgets I Believe. It's well worth it.
Take a look at Beautiful Widgets too.

cm6 i need more widgets!!

i like cm6 the best but having barely any funtional widgets like a nice calendar widget or anything drives me nuts. Any widget packs or anything that have nice widgets. Currently i only have beautiful widgets but its only just a clock and some switches
Beautiful Widgets, Switcher Pro, CalWidget, Android Agenda Widget.
LauncherPro has a built in calendar app if you want to have a sense looking calendar.
You could run launcher pro plus, comes with sense like contacts and calendar widgets.
Hey... I think this thing makes phone calls too!

Favorite weather/clock widgets

What is everyone's favorite weather/clock widget? I'm currently using "Sense Analog Clock" by Factory Widgets, but I'm not a huge fan of the fact that it doesn't update my location for the weather. Anyone have other recommendations?
I use Beautiful Widgets. It's non-free, though.

I like this one after using all sort of clock widget. It consume the least batter among widgets I used. The Con: I cannot touch it to go anywhere else, such as Alarm clock or settings.
One more clock. Pretty customizable and you can customize what app you can open with it
Sent from Samsung Galaxy SIV
I use a combo of BeWeather and the Beautiful Widgets apps. I have my display using a custom ICS looking Beautiful Widgets clock/weather combo, and enjoy the animations/info from BeWeather. It gives a lot of tweaking ability. Highly recommended.
I'd send you the links, but because I haven't posted much, it won't let me. Do a search on Google Play and you'll find them.

Digital clock question

Is there any way to remove the date from the digital clock? I have the stock weather widget running in the top right corner, which also shows the date, so it's redundant to also have it displayed in the clock, which is right below it.
Barring that, is there a recommended digital clock widget that has the same stock font, can be sized to the 4 x 2 of the stock clock, and had the option to display no date?
There are a ton of available clock and weather apps in the Play Store that have wigets, usually with more customization options than the stock Android versions. If you do a little trial and error testing it shouldn't take you long to find what you are looking for. You can also look for general widget apps like Beautiful Widgets which usually include clock and weather widgets because they tend to be the most popular.

This might get you started but if you don't find something to your liking there are a ton more in the Play Store. It shouldn't be hard at all to find either a digital clock widget or a weather widget that doesn't also display the date. There are also a lot of clock widgets that actually display the weather as well, so if you liked something like that you could use one widget instead of two and save yourself a little battery. I used to use one like that called Fancy Widgets but it didn't have as many customization options as some other widget apps.

Thanks for the advice. I did try several digital clock widgets, but every single one included a non-removable date. The HD Widgets in your link looks like it has what I need in it though, so I'll try that one out.
Thanks again!
