Battery callibrating/charging - EVO 4G Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Do u have to do the battery charging tip everytime or just once? Im referring to the method mentioned a few times where when light turns green, unplug, turn off, plug in til green, unplug. Do it 10x
Sent from my CM6 powered device

Battery stats reside in /data which gets wiped when you flash a new ROM (or when you wipe /data or factory reset). That's when you need to recalibrate, if I understand correctly.
If you mean every time you charge the battery, then no. But it might be good to do it once a month or so (I may be pushing erroneous info, but I doubt it would hurt - just have to wipe battery stats once it's fully charged after the unplugging/plugging cycles).

What I meant was after wiping and calibrating, to get a full charge, would i have to do the charging method minus the wipe everytime?

Phone won't charge after full discharge

I let my phone fully discharge, but when I tried to charge it back up it won't charge the battery. It will boot up but show 0% battery, then shut down again.
I tried charging it while it was off (with the black/white charging animation) but the battery wouldn't gain anything and the UE would get extremely hot. I let it try to charge in bootloader and while the UE wouldn't get hot, the battery wouldn't charge. I'm now trying to charge it in TWRP recovery but I doubt anything will happen.
I tried unscrewing and removing the battery connectors to see if anything will change. I will see if that helps.
I'm on Root Stock ZVB JB. Does anyone know of any similar issues like this happening before? Any help is appreciated.
This happened to me on Lifeless v14 [so a different ROM].
I plugged in went to TWRP, wiped cache.
Then, shutdown and rebooted into recovery and let it charge above 70%.
Then, flashed L-v14 again and its been ok till now [about a week after incident]

[Q] Flashed Trinity 3.2 for XaS, cant charge through PC

so reflashed the Trinity 3.2 rom on my Acro S, and was surprised to see my phone not charging when connected to PC..here's what i noticed:
red led is on when connected [usually means it's charging, right?]
there's no up trend on the battery stats [it's flatlined, which i think means it's not using the battery power but using the USB power instead]
battery charging animation is there on offline charging through PC, but when i turn it on after 20 minutes or so, the battery level is the same
lockscreen says it's charging and show battery percentage but stays the same for another 20 minutes
so, i already tried changing roms to RootBox, thinking maybe it's kernel related, but its the same
this is also not my first time to reflash Trinity, i already reflashed maybe 3-4 times with no problems..
am i missing something when flashing?though i flashed it the same way i flashed before: wipe data, cache and dalvik; and never had problems till now, it's just confusing..can anybody help?
i borrowed a wall charger from a colleague that has an XneoL and it's charging right now, 1% to 14% in 15 minutes

I think there was this problem with 3.2 version itself.. Lots of users complained about FC's and different sorts of bugs.. May be this was one among them too.. U can try 3.4 or just flash the original ftf itself.. Or if u have had a CWM backup of your previous ROM, you can do that too.. You know, the best thing u can do to avoid these sorts of probs in future is to make a clean install or clean flash as they say.. Wipe everything, format system, data, cache and then flash the ROM..
i do wipe everything when i update a rom
and Trinity 3.4 for Acro S hasn't been released yet
thanks anyways

[Q][Urgent Please] LU 6200 Battery Discharging and Reboots

Hello
I have a question if anyone can help me what the problem is with my LG LU6200 handset
On the stock Rom once set is operational it runs smoothly charge and discharge as regular but after a week it automatically reboot and after reboot it not start and continuously rebooting saying use genuine battery. I remove the battery plugin the charger into the handset and put the battery after a minute it start in the charging mode showing the battery charging in off mode then I turn on the phone and it start working as normal until it reboot automatically or I turn off.
I use the custom rom for testing in the custom rom it run as normal but once I reboot the phone or turn off and turn on again it not reboot but start draining the battery even with charger plugged in the battery keep on discharging instead of charging and it come back to normal with same process by removing the battery plugin charger then insert the battery after a minute on the start of charging turn on the phone now it charging is increasing while charger is plugged in.
Now please someone help me what is the problem? ROM or the battery replacement or the phone become faulty ( That is unlikely because phone work as normal for weeks even if I not restart it or it automatically reboot)
Also when it happen my phone date go back to the last time it was booting in normal working state

I not tried the format battery state through recovery but I did try it by deleting the batterystat.bin from the system and reboot the phone so that the battery index is fresh and it not helped phone start the abnormal behaviour after any reboot. Format battery state in the recovery do the same thing I suppose deleting the batterystat.bin file from system but I try to do that with the recovery now as well
.Try to discharge the battery completely, play with game or video until your phone die then charge it until it completely full at 100% then leave it for a hour. Then test the battery life

Thanks, I already drained the battery and charged it back full many many times but battery life is not the problem my battery run 24 hours approx with medium use some calls couple of sms, facebook, Whatsapp and Wifi is on 24/7 and connected usually.
I tried the battery stats reset from the the recovery mentioned by abuulala there is some improvement now it is not rebooting after power up and charging as normal. Thanks abuulala for the tip, but still have the random shutdown and start again automatically sometime that stop only by removing the battery and inserting it again.

i think u should also try to to wipe 4 that is dalvik cache, cache and data reset and also in advance system format, than instal rom again, it might help seems like a rom problem. try sphinx or flex roms, these are stable without random reboots and i m glad that my advice helped u, im total newbie.

I did all those and currently using the Sphinx 4.1 rom posted by AMACreative working very good battery discharging problem is solved but this rom also force shutdown and keep on rebooting one time it happen that I am not sure why. my guess is when the ram get used alot with many apps running it shutdown by force but I am not sure yet it is sw creating the problem or hardware however after the wipes and coming to custom rom discharging problem while charger is plugged in is solved

TWRP new layout battery is too low to flash

hi,
I thought my battery is start to die. I stuck in TWRP new layout. Just finished wiping all data, and need to flashing.
But drastically the battery is dropping out. Let me stuck at bootloader. I cant go for flashing due to the battery is too low to flash.
In searching button had found many workaround to fix this issue. I have no idea. What I need to do now is to charge my HOX for flashing.
Question is
Did my workaround below is correct?
Go to fastboot menu. Power down option. Plugged in wall socket for charging. There red led with battery lightning in the screen.
Will this solve my problem. How many hour to get back my 100% full for flashing?
thank you
solved

After stumbling and digging via search button
If you stuck in fastboot with low battery to flash. Just flash an original stock recovery.
Than via fastboot, power down let your HOX charge with wall charger. This give you 100% full charges.
After that you can flash again any custom recovery you need. This is fast and reliable than battery script which take forever. This is life saver. Credit to dortok.

Question Bootloop when low battery

Since not so long ago I've experienced the following:
If I leave the phone two have low battery like 10% when it dies it enters a boot loop I cannot stop and I just can only plug it in and wait while it bootloops without being able to stop it and a long time later (20/30 min) it will finally boot up, last time it had 30% battery when it finally booted up.
What could it be? It may have been the last update? Has anybody experienced this?
If you did a major firmware upgrade without a factory reset, do a factory reset now.
Otherwise clear the system cache.
It it persists, factory reset.
If it still continues it maybe hardware. It could be corrupted firmware but trying to reflash may end up causing it to brick if it acts up during the reflash. Consider your options carefully at this point especially if under warranty or insured.
I have the same thing. The phone just starts to vibrate indicating a startup, then after a few seconds it vibrates again, and continues in this loop. The screen doesn't display anything.
I'm having the same thing right now, I tried wiping the cache from bootloader and charging the phone to 100%, but it doesn't seem to be fixed
Maybe on an unlocked bootloader it doesn't work? Something related to offline charging?

I have not had it happen lately the other day I had 5% battery and it worked fine.
I think it might be an unsupported charger?
