[app]/[mod] LCD Density

So, its pretty well known for other android devices but I have not seen it mentioned for Adam...
I highly recommend a LCD Density change if your using a ***rooted*** rom.
You can try it out for free by getting the app "LCDDensity for Root". For the Adam I set the lcd density to 120, anything lower and its to small. This is using VEGAn. (best rom so far by the way)
if you like what you see you can pay for and download "LCD Density Changer" that will allow you to make it permanent. (note if you reflash the rom it will be removed).
If your poor and dont feel like paying, you have more options, all you need to do is add:
Code:
ro.sf.lcd_density=120
at the beginning of the file:
Code:
/system/build.prop
and restart your adam. feel free to google instructions, there are plenty of ways to do it already mentioned on xda.
*Note, not all the NI apps will fit to the screen, but for the majority of apps (every other app I have used) it works fine.
**like I said test it first with the first app mentioned, its FREE!
BTW.... First post, 9 more to go till dev.. (Ubuntu GO!)
i never thought about using this on my adam i have it on my evo hmmm ill give it shot thanks !!!! oh btw you using LCD or PQi I have the PQi screen 3g
Pqi 3g.

[Q] Market Applications now incompatible?

Hey,
Currently running AOKP M3 and using the LCD Density option within the ROM to get a nicer feeling and noticed that after using this some applications that were previously compatible with the galaxy nexus now report otherwise in the market. I tried a few of the market enablers, but those did not assist in any way.
Any ideas for a work around as I assume it will not let me use those apps because of the reported change in LCD density? Is there a way to spoof as if I was a normal Galaxy Nexus and continue on my merry way using apps normally, or will I have to revert when I want to make a change to some of the market apps having these problems?
LCD Density Modder Pro works great for me, it's a paid app but worth it.

AOKP M5 - mod'd market/GSF don't work for lcd density 241 anymore?

Has anyone updated to AOKP M5 and been able to successfully get the play store to not hide "incompatible" apps when switching the LCD density? In my case I'm set to 241.
It worked fine (via LCD Density Modder Pro) with a while now with AOKP b* builds even up to b34, but for some reason it no longer works with M5. Any ideas why?

Why wouldn't you just run 240?

240 changes the UI in several places. I prefer to run 260 myself. What's a good long term solution for the market not marking apps as incompatible?

Official DPI questions thread

Rather than have a million threads about DPI settings and what's best or preferred for a particular app, let's contain them in one thread. This way we can have all the information in one place.
Has anyone noticed that if you change the DPI via build prop to say, 400 DPI, the email app scales really well. The only problem I can find is that when you reply to an email, the font size is gigantic on your actual reply. Anything other than 480 and when you reply to an email the font is way too big. I can used exposed to set the email to 480 but I like the way it look at the lower DPI. Anyone experience this or have a fix?
Those numbers seem rather high. Using 340 myself. Seen others use 320.
xposed app settings module will not stay activated
I installed the xposed framework with no problems. My problem is when I go to activate my app settings module I keep getting 'cannot write to data/xposed/modules.whitelist'. Has anybody else had this problem?
EDIT: I am running DARTHSTALKER ROM.

400 is really an arbitrary number. My point is that it happens regardless.

[Q] LCD Density & LG Apps

After having a fairly low density on my previous phone I rooted the g3 immediately and attempted to change the density from the insane 640 to 520. Immediately after the reboot I noticed all the default LG apps had the green android for their logo, attempting to start any of them results in an immediate force close. This is a huge problem when the contacts app is required for the dialer to work.
Has anyone lowered their density successful and to what?
Yes I lowered mine to 590
530 is the lowest LG apps can do. I would love to use 480dpi all around, it seems perfect for the device. I have now used xPosed App Settings to force 480 other apps, but it would be nice tovhave systemui also use that dpi :/

Stick the DPI back to 640 and it'll restore the apps again, 600 works, it's OK but tbh I just use stock DPI these days. On this screen why not?
Yup I returned it to 640 and all the apps came good and the previous posters mention the lowest I could go. I don't entirely know how to explain it and I couldn't see a difference in sharpness on this phone or my previous phone no matter what dpi I set. To me the biggest difference was how much fitted on the screen, it's more a personal preference.
Thankyou to everyone that has helped!

You can set 530 in build.prop and then use xPosed module to hack Play store to allow program updates

Stock dpi looks like the phone is made for small children or elderly people.
So true! On every phone! Lowering DPI should be a built in option on all phones.
