Since the 2.2 update the Droid Inc. has MPEG-4, H.263, H.264, what is the best option to use with 720p? and is there a way to increase the frame rate to get slow motion video?
thanks for your help...Eugene
For high support of media files I recommend rockplayer. It's awesome and will play whatever i throw at it

what video files will play on the htc evo and which one has the best quality?
h.262 baseline codec is the only codec officially supported by android's stock video player.
If you want a better video player try mx video player from the market its free

try mxplayer pro + codec
if v/a do not sync well then it's time for you to convert it to:
mp4 format
320x240
mpeg4 + acc
These settings are nice:

I would rather recommend BS Player https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.bsplayer.bspandroid.free . It has a slightly better performance when playing high resolution videos.
Thx guys..

I'm having trouble playing some videos on my phone. They are .mp4 videos and I'm trying to play them in MoboPlayer. The video opens for a second and then closes and I get a message saying the video can't be played and to try soft decoding. When I try soft decoding, the video plays but it's really slow or choppy. Any thoughts about whether it's a codec issue? I can play .wmv files fine. I've tried other players. Could it be an HD issue, the videos are 1080p? I'm running the latest Viper ROM.
Thanks.
Yeah it's the 1080p part. Have you tried MX player though? Wicked sweet player with tons of functions. I would get a file converter n bring it down to 720 honestly.

That worked. Guess I don't need 1080p on a 4" screen

Or on a non 1080 screen...
I was recording a high school soccer match using the stock video recorder. I mistakenly assumed the fast motion option was recording something like a sporting event.
So now the videos are in fast time. Is there a way to edit the speed of recorded videos?

Hi there all.
This is a simple question: what's the best video player for the Xperia Play? I mean, for playing HD (720p, not 1080p) content.
I used a lot Moboplayer, but it slows a lot in HD videos, even installing the codecs... And the latest versions of Moboplayer take a while to start and it's a bit annoying...
What video player do you use for HD content? Please, if the recommendation you give needs some codec, say wich one (a direct link can be even more helpfull!).

I installed MX Player and it worked fine with anime episodes in 720p, and without any codec!
