I'm having a few issues with google stuff. In the ENG build, it won't find the Fandango App (i need it to check movie pass exceptions for movies). And when i load any of the froyo roms, i don't "have" a wireless connection even though all the settings say i do. When i go to sign into google, it won't sign in or authenticate. Also, when i cancel out of everything to home screen, i get a notification saying i don't have an data (including wifi) even though i'm connected to wifi.
Why is this? I know it worked before (the ones i've used, TeamFenix, CM6) haven't been updated since i last tried. I'm not sure if it's just the servers right now or what, but it's quite irritating. it's also pissing me off the androidspin's file server is down.
Oh yeah, when i load of the browser, i can go to google.com but when i make a search in google, it won't load. But the weird thing is, i can load yahoo.com
Download MarketEnabler from google code and use it it'll fix you right up...
Itd be helpful to know what rom youre using...

Well i did say i was running the ENG build right now (the only one besides for stock that allows me to sign into google) and i also said i wasn't able to even sign into google on the ChromaticSlide, CM6, and TeamFenix builds (or any CM6 derivation build).
I'm also in oregon so region restrictions shouldn't be an issue.
EDIT: i did get it owkring (not sure if it's just the day or what) by turning on bluetooth as well as wifi.
So is there any distinct reason you're still running the eng build? If you want the stock espresso you should try CR's OTA mod...its just the official OTA plus root and a2sd...it runs great, not buggy, not laggy, and I don't have any problems with wifi, google sign-in, etc. that you are experiencing, and I see fandango in the market without needing to use marketenabler...

Ever since going from MyFroyo RC4 to RC5 & RC6 (and even the Cyanogen RC01, I have had problems with my wifi.
I am posting here to see if anyone else is experiencing these problems, and to find out what changed between RC4 and RC5.
I have no cell service at my house, so when I flash a new ROM, I need to leave the house and go to an area where I get service before I can connect to the Google Servers to set up my device. When on Wifi, I also have problems downloading Google items in the market (such as Google Search Bar) and can't even use Google.com to search for anything. It times out. I can, however, use other websites and download other items (once I've set up my device remotely).
If I am setting this up over Edge or 3G, there are never any problems.
If I re-flash back to MyFroyo RC4, I can use my wifi with no problem to do everything I need.
I really love the updates since RC4 - but am worried that I'll be left in the dust since all the builds since RC4 have had this issue for me. :-/

I've never had a single Wifi issue, although I never really tested on RC1 too much. I'm currently running Eugene's newest CM6, have you tried that one yet?

supposed to be a cyanogenmod issue though i havent experienced it myself (i also have horrible service 1-2 bars edge max) using wifi everything loads up fast and everything downloads just fine! but if i were you i would try the nightlies they are supposed to have fixed the problem by now if im not mistaken
I've experienced a lot of this too. Marker downloads were pretty much not happening for me, no matter what - Wifi or Data. On data, it would download but never install. On Wifi no images in the market would load and no download would activate. I also couldn't use Google.com or sign into Gmail via the browser or other Google services. I did a lot of searching and heard it could be Google.
What I did to fix it... I did some nandroids, I did some wipes and updates and complete formats, etc. What I finally think I had was a problem in my packages.xml file where so many programs were mismatched due to Froyo's ability to use apps2fat32. I think at some point some nandroiding I had done,etc screwed up my package assignments and then I just fresh installed and DO NOT BACK DATA/SETTINGS UP WITH GOOGLE! haha, I honestly think that had a lot to do with it also...Go into your Privacy and turn auto restore off, turn backup data off, then reset your device with a wipe of it all and such, boot up and don't select backup with Google. I've had no more issues really.

I've actually tried the new nightly's and still have the same problems. I've also tried completely wiping it and starting from scratch- and made sure not to back up w/ GOOGLE servers- but to no avail.
I wonder if anyone on here can figure out what changed between MyFroyo RC4 and RC5 that could cause this - seems something is blocking the Google Synch. I've also experienced the problems mentioned above regarding the market items not downloading, no images, etc. Just seems weird that it worked completely fine before RC5, which came out around the same time as the Cyanogen 6 Slide RC1
From my personal experience I'd have to say that wifi is slightly bugged. Drops randomly and occassionally won't detect my network when other Android devices will (any encryption, which is for suckers anyway )
At least I know I'm not the only one w/ this problem. I couldn't find a cyanogen defect for this issue.
Same here. I have no wifi. My g1 connects just fine and my hd2 but on the slide its a no go. Ive tried everything but eventually just gave up. Im using Eugenes Ota update. Im not sure if its just the slide in general but my wifi doesn't work period. It'll connect but if i load up youtube or try the web I get a no connection error. Its very peculiar. Incredibly peculiar.
I am having the same issue. I noticed people talked about it with CM6 rc1 but not everyone was having the issue and the subject died off. Ive tried reloading, wiping everything, htcclay's new version but nothing seems to help. The wifi is just strange will work for a page or two than fail to load or loads half way. Also tried on several different networks. Does anyone know if the driver is the same in eugenes as in these later ones?
After wiping and keeping a good eye on everything, the issue I have with Wifi and the browser is that sometimes it just hangs about 75% page load and doesn't really change unless I leave the phone go for a bit and wait for it to load.
Downloaded Opera Mini (only browser I could find that doesn't use the native browser). With Opera, I've actually hadn't had any loading issues or anything weird like that happen. So many a possible partial-bypass is using another browser? It helped me, just thought I'd share.

the wifi issues.. asap he's juggling this and vibrant please be patient i've spoken to wes myself and he's told me when he has the time this will be one thing he looks into

Same bugginess happening here, too. Iffy, at best. Other than that and of course the non-necessary FN and CAPS light, this is the only issue, anymore, that I can see.

Thanks for the update - I look forward to the day when I can use the wifi AND a camera MyFroyo RC4 is still working well for me, but I miss my camera

I'm about to just toss my evo into the wall.
I read lots of threads and tried everything I found but still no go.
I went from stock 2.2 to the new 2.2 root.
From there, made a nand backup and updated to netarchy's kernal and rom.
Everything installed fine except for trying to connect to google to sign in to assign my google account to my phone. It was a 3g issue. I turned on wifi and signed in. Same issue with market. I can pull up the main pages but can't pull up app info page. I have to use wifi instead of 3g.
I found a apn xml file on another thread that everyone said works. It looks the same as the one I backed up before I rooted.
That still didn't work.
I restored my nand and everything worked.
But being the stubborn person that I am and was determined to get it to work, I tried it again, this time I updated the radio and wiimax. Still the same issue.
I went back to my nand and now 3g doesn't work for google/market again.
It works fine for everything else. speedtest shows 1mbps download speeds.
Web browser works fine.
I d/l netarchy's 2.2 rooted stock as well as steelh's 2.2 rooted stock but still the issue with 3g.
Please someone help me before I end up destroying this phone to pieces.
Oh another issue is if I do use wifi, some programs from market shows cannot install. I know the fix is to install from explorer but I can't find the reason why that is. In otherwords, why can't it install from market anymore?
I am having the same problem with market and syncing in 3g. All works in 4g. Stock 2.2 to rooted stock 2.2 a couple of days ago. Help
second thread of this type that has popped up, this just started happening to me today also.
Seems anything google related isn't working over 3g for me.
Wifi works fine.
Have tried several roms, updated radio to newest version (even though i'm pretty sure it was).
Tried ##768# and ##3283# reset.
Ummmmmmm.. Yeah that is about it. 3g signal stays connected and middle to high signal strength at all times. WTF is google doin here.... Glad it isn't just limited to me lol.

I think one of the reasons is because the apn got messed up.
I found a xml file for it from cm6 thread but it didn't fix it.

Another issue I found that seems to be 3g related:
So now my issue with 3g is that I can't get google to sync contacts, calander, email well, google talk times out, market can't pull open pages and now my current location city name.
Crazy ironic thing is that facebook somehow always automatically installs itself.
I keep uninstalling it and it somehow shows up again as version 1.2
A friend suggested I go back to RUU and start completely over.
I d/l 2.2 RUU and still issues with google, man wtf.
I used part 2 of the 2.2 root and still no good with google.
I guess I gonna go to bed with the battery taken out and see if that does anything when I wake up.

I can't be the only one with terrible Chrome to Phone reliability performance on my Evo. I thought this was a cool concept when it came out but since day one it has never worked reliably.
Most often when I send something from Chrome (on Win 7 laptop with Chrome 7.0.517.44) I get the message "Sent to phone." but nothing. ever. shows. up. on the phone.
After logging in an out of the chrome to phone app on the phone several times it will sometimes work for a while but the next time I go to use it it's the same deal.
This happens whether im on 3G or 4G networks. I'm running stock ROM, rooted, 3.30.651.3 with HTC #17 kernel.
In the interest of figuring this out I just wiped cache/user data and reinstalled 3.30 RUU. (still rooted) I also uninstalled the chrome plugin, reinstalled and restarted.
After logging in on both ends this app still doesn't work. I remember it working one time when I first got my Evo but it's been months and I don't know if this app has just gone by the wayside now or if it's not officially supported on the Evo or what the deal is? I asked another fellow Evo owner to try this app and he confirmed it did not work for him either. He is in a non-4G area I don't know if that could affect things?
I would think a fresh installed install of both the android app and the browser plugin would fix this but perhaps it's something on Google's end? Has anyone gotten this app to work in the past few weeks?

It works fine for me. I would suspect a problem with your network. Make sure your firewall isn't blocking the program. Also switch to manual instead of automatic link execution. Maybe your phone gets the link but then craps out when it tries to run it.

I think you're onto something with the network comment. I'm using a cheap $20 netgear router that sometimes does other internet weirdness.
I just tried it on a commercial wifi access point and it worked fine. So I guess it's not my phone or my laptop.
This issue happens to me sometimes. The thing I noticed is when the problem does happen GTalk also stops workings. In order to fix this I have stop and start my internet connection. This bug has been documented. Its bug number 67 on the Chrome to Phone Google project page.
My 4G will turn on and scan and even show bars but it doesn't work. It never fully loads. 3G works great. Wifi needs to be shut off and turned back on all the time to work correctly. Is anyone else having the same issues?
Nope, did you check you wimax keys? There is an app in the market to check or maybe you have a bad download

For some reason, no matter if I am on WiFi, 3g or 4g, the browser fails to fully load webpages with a LOT of content.... puzzling.
Based on your original comment, I can't really tell if you mean that it doesn't work when you're browsing, or if you mean it's just not grabbing an IP from sprint or what. I'm going to assume that you're experiencing issues with browsing though after your phone is connected to 4G and showing that it has a 4G signal.
Myn botched the adblock feature in his ROM. You'll have to restore the hosts file if you haven't already. The browser will partially load pages or lock up on sites with flash ads because of this. Grab AdFree (it's free) and tap "Revert". That should restore the hosts file. You can then use the program to block ads effectively.

I did the adfree fix last week or something like that when I think everyone was having issues with it. For some reason though 4G will say I have signal and then take forever to load or never completely load at all but if I shut it off 3G works great.
My wifi seems like it just turns off after a little while but says I still have a signal. If I turn off the toggle and turn it back on it works fine again. It's just annoying.
I'm thinking of switching roms but I just don't know which one to go to. I have really liked myn's rom and am not sure what else is good.

Good news is you have your RSA keys, you might want to back them up in case you do end up switching around ROMs and flashing radio updates and such.
There could be several things going on here, so it's hard to give you a good direction to go in. Are you maybe using a custom kernel? Have you updated your WiMax and other radios? Maybe try flashing back to the rooted version of the stock ROM, and grab the latest software/radio updates.

*Probably don't want to update HBOOT, it's not included in the Combo link, so you're safe grabbing that. Also, some people have said that the PRI/NV 1.90 have been giving them ****ty battery life, 1.77 should be fine if you notice this.
Anyway, my recommendation for now is to just get everything back to scratch. Check and see if the 4G works after that. If it does, maybe it was the ROM or some kind of kernel you were using (if any). If it doesn't work still, your area might just be having 4G issues right now. I don't know where your area is, but if you're on the cusp of 4G deployment, it may only work sometimes. I know here in Minneapolis before deployment was official, it would work in isolated areas. Then all of a sudden, the signal would be there and I wouldn't be able to connect. I would just get an "Obtaining IP address from Sprint" message and it'd stick there. Couple of weeks later, it started working again.

I updated all of the radios and everything the directions on Myn's RLS5 said to do.
I'm in Nashville and only get 4G in certain areas so it's not a huge deal. It would be cool if it worked correctly though. I just wasn't sure if it was the rom or not.
I haven't changed kernels, I'm just using the one that comes with RLS5 but I do get really ****ty battery life.
Every since I've rooted my phone, all I get now is "Webpage not Available" when trying to get free coins, gold, points, w/e from apps. My internet works fine. This happens on both Wifi and 4G.
Example: Trying to get free coins in "Draw Something" will bounce back this error: " The webpage at "https://ws.tapjoyads.com/get_offers?******link continues****** might be temporarily down or it may have moved permanently to a new web address.
Suggestions: Make sure you have a data connection ( I do)
Reload this webpage later (I've tried)
Check the address you entered (well it came from the app so I assume it's good).
This happens to EVERY app I'm in. It does not matter if it's Tapjoyads or something else.
Any ideas?

I believe I am having a similar issue, none of my applications can access internet resources though the browser will work. I also cannot connect to the market (makes sense seeing as apps cannot access the internet). I've tried many different roms and kernels the same issue always seems to happen but I did find out it only seems to happen after the first reboot. If I flash a rom and boot into it then it works fine ... until I restart the phone then the apps cannot access the internet at all. Any ideas?
*update a touchwiz build (jellybean based) does't seem to have the same issue. It may be an aosp problem, though I'm not sure what the root of the cause is.
I haven't tried different roms yet. I need to venture into that world to do further testing.
I've tried rebooting, resetting, updating, all that. I can't seem to get it to work.
