L.S.
can anyone help me with Touchtwit.
It doesn't work since Twitter started using OAuth.
Touchtwit is as far as I know the same as HTC peep.
Kind regards
TouchTwit is not the same as HTC Peep, but it is suffering from the same issues, if thats what you're saying.
I'm actually wondering how i can update TouchTwit since i read yesterday that it was fixed and they sent an update...
Peep can login, and update status but no feed/stream yet for me.
Also PockeTwit does not work anymore...

Do you where to get "the update" for Touchtweet?
Or does anyone know an working twitter app for winmob like touchtwit?
Found it
Found it. I stop using Touchtwit and switch to the verry fast and free MoTweets.
http://www.panoramicsoft.com/mobileapps/motweets/moTweets.php#
Up and running in a few minutes!
Pocketwit is updated as of last night although this is a pre-release candidate, look on the Google code page.Seems to run fine on my Samsung Intrepid. The Titanium plug in works as well, although I have no icons for it for some reason. Trying to decide if Frother is better.
I still like Touchtwit the most but they don't show any indication of updating it. Somone tweeted that MS has tried to contact them as well, no success.
Well, still no reply from touchtwit devs, after lots of mails.
And to think that I recently bought this app... and it stopped working less than two weeks afterwards. That's why I'm so damn furious.
I gotta rethink my "try & buy" policy really hard I suppose...
An update (v1.8) was released today on marketplace... TouchTwit works perfectly now! Thank you developers, apologies for ranting
Anyone knows if TouchTwit supports keyword filter? I have been using Azurea which had that, TouchTwit looks great however, and I feel like giving it a go.

Have I just noticed these or have 'Notes', 'Tip Calculator' and 'Today in History' appeared under 'Get more HTC Widgets' when you go to add a widget?! Just testing now...I know people mentioned that it was odd that there wasn't a Notepad app built in...looks good!
They have been there a while, the notes widget is great
I keep the note widget up on a screen and already use it regularly
Sorry, guess I'm a little slow, thought I knew most about it by now! Like the notes, shame there's no options to change the tip calc to £, but guess it works the same! Like the today in history too, be better if there was a half size one though.
strange....
That's odd,I just checked my add widgets bit but just get the day in history one which I have had for a while...is this country specific perhaps? I'm in the UK so how do I get the notes etc or are they to be released later perhaps. Those who have it, where in the world are you ?

Have you refreshed?
Well I clicked on add more widgets. Do you mean the refresh all thing by HTC ? Think I mean the sync all...
Oops ignore me ...forgot I had a menu button...just assumed it would update itself being a genius phone lol. Thanks for the post tho,I would have missed out
try updating to the latest rom.
menu - settings - about phone - system software updates - check now.
I have no idea if this will help but I am on t-mobile in UK and I get the new widgets. I think it coincided with the Rom update but not 100% sure.
edit - posted at same time as response. sorry!
Sent from my HTC Desire using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
I'm in the UK, T-Mobile supplied Desire. Was on 1.15.110.11 when I got it, and haven't seen any updates, been checking manually too. Sure the 'Get more htc widgets' wasn't there before though! Weird!
UPDATE:
As of April 23, 2010 HTC Desire users can see / buy protected apps from the Android Market !
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I know, this has been discussed again and again.
We have to wait until Google finished finger-printing the phone firmware and added it to the Market. Something like Google should certify the phone firmware to be able to use the Market.
Granted, no problem with that ... if Google can do it very quickly.
But how long???
This will be a long wait ... or VERY LONG WAIT
Take a look from the official Google Android Market forum support:
Even the HTC Legend is still having this issue (which was released earlier)
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Android+Market/thread?tid=683d89c4f4fd4593&hl=en
After more than 1 month, it is still not fixed !!!
And this is for HTC Hero:
http://www.google.com/support/forum/p/Android+Market/thread?tid=3529bae358433fcd&hl=en
Started on July 22, 2009 ... Until March 2010 ... Or is it still till now??? Probably on certain firmware from certain mobile operators or whatnot.
I really cannot believe Google screws this great Android platform like this.
Think about the next firmware update, from Google or HTC ... We will AGAIN get this issue ... Then wait again very long.
I am really mad and hate this. The phone is nice, but this? Do I forced to find "elsewhere" (pirated, cracked version of Android apps)?
If one of you guys is capable of writing a good professional article or blog regarding this issue, we could spread the voice all over the internet / twitter / facebook / blogs / news so Google could "end" or "fix" this.
Because this is unacceptable ... will REPEAT (every firmware update) and FOREVER
PS: This is repost from AndroidForums.com by me.
It's staggering really. Particularly like google Earth. I can't get that through the android market!
This should be fixed....
will a rooted desire solve the problem?

I think so, since at that point you can change your phone "ID", so the market thinks it is a nexus/G1/X10 etc etc.
If there si a phone with full access to the market, you change your ID to that one et voilá...
how about changing from a T-Mobile ROM to a generic one?
I'm have a desire with the same issue, running the latest generic firmware. I have to source apps I can't find on the market place elsewhere. There really needs to be more urgency put on the finger printing process by Google!
Think Google have their dummy out as the Nexus isnt doing too well lol
Seriously though. This is bad. The iphone/pod does so well because of the apps. Microsoft are doing so badly because of the apps. Google dont shoot yourself in the foot.
Its sad as I told my mate today that the android just lacks big named titles then I go on cryket and there are some cool titles Gameloft & EA but not found on the marketplace when I search.
Really is a pity we have to wait so long.

Knowing HTC they probably won't release many updates for the Desire anyway, unless they've realised that in order to sell more units they need to provide fixes!

Hahaha, don't be daft now! When do HTC ever really fix issues? Thats why we all love xda so much.
This won't help ... I am using generic one
This issue is silly ... I cant support Android platform by spending money on apps. I want to do this to support Android developers so they will be happy and encouraged to develop more better apps.
If I am a developer, I will be really mad ...
Some apps are in http://www.slideme.org , but not all.

This guy is making work of the market problem. At least for the Legend. So let's hope this will also solve the problem for the Desire.
Otherwise we have to wait for root acces and alter the build.prop file ourselves.

As far as I can gather, he says nothing specifically about the market problem, he's just saying an OTA is underway for the Legend that should fix that phone's specific problems getting apps that need access to the camera.
He says nothing about the missing protected apps, and nothing about the Desire either.
Just got off the phone to HTC:
Apparently there is a ROM update to fix this in the works which will be released in "the next four weeks". She was quite adamant that it wasn't just a Google thing...
I gave her a list of apps that I couldn't download and she said she'd pass it on.
She did say that the more people that call up and report this the better. It then lets HTC know how much pain its causing.
Get calling!
Oh boy ... 4 weeks??? I hope HTC will roll out a very good list of patches!
If it will include "Flash 10.1" with hardware acceleration, then I will forgive them (HTC and Google)
Google IO conference will be on May 19 - 20.
I wrote an article about it as suggested and its up
http://www.rcrwireless.com/article/...121/htc-desire-has-android-marketplace-issues
We should spread this out.
But, why do you only mention "unbranded" ??? Because this issue happen on ALL HTC Desire devices released till today.
And also HTC Legend ... and some HTC Hero still.

Good. Thanks for the article.
But I have one of the first T-mobile Desire's bought direct from T-mobile (1.15.110.11) and I still can't see protected apps like Tapatalk, Google Earth, etc. So the problem isn't restricted to unbranded phones as your article suggests.

There had been reports that it works on SOME branded Desires
and your thread wasn't the first written about this issue, it was raised a few days before you did it just wasnt published until now the original thread I came across only mentioned the Desire

That was the editor, I requested the update it hasnt happened yet so I apologise
it was supposed to say some unbranded devices
is this the same issue why i cant see Google maps in the market place on my phone? i'm in ireland.. unlocked unbranded desire.. tried both o2 and meteor networks
When I fisrt login and HTC Peep downloads tweets for the first time, the notification sound works. When tweets are next downloaded, it doesn't. Doesn't matter if this is set to download automatically or manually.
Anyone got any ideas for a fix? (Apart from throwing my device at HTC)
Thanks!
Still now joy, checked registry settings and all seems as it should be...
Same issue here...
Got exactly the same problem. Would be strange if nobody else is affected.
Have been using two different ROM's and installed the latest security update for HTC peep.
Still HTC peep is only making the notification sound the very first time.
+1 to the problem.
Same Here
Yes I too have the same problem!
So report this issue to HTC, let them know!

I reported them some issues and they made a fix for me. After a month of continually reminding them ;D Also... Try to write in different languages to different HTC region departments. According to my experience it speeds up the process

Let's hope the old TP2 still isn't out of support.
I'll report this issue too, however it doesn't really bother me.

That would be wrong to suggest the HD2 is out of support as I recently enquired about the old Peep problems and it got done almost instantly.
It never really bothered me that much but I'm finding I use Peep more and more and now require the instant notification anyway if you buy a product it should live up to the apps etc that it came with and my HTC HD2 with windows and Android is still pretty much in the game

How the heck did you get them to make you anything? I've been fighting with them for over a month now to make one single change to the Peep application to use HTTPS instead of HTTP basic for the session. I ever told them how to fix it. It would take one programmer half an afternoon at most to fix it, but they keep telling me that they have no information to give me. They are very frustrating people!

You are so right!!!
I'd prefer to call them funny people...
Yesterday I asked for help to get rid of that boring flip of the digital clock on Home Screen. Today they told me to do a long press on the clock to change clock layout, knowing that wouldn't give an answer to my original question...
Has anyone ever heard of sth like that in Stock ROM???

No not a clue on that one I'm afraid!
I would love to know how to have just the home page background picture to look at instead of the clock, calender section, quick links, weather and quick lauch buttons at the bottom!
No answer also to the original peep sound question also from the "funny people"
Hello all,
I am the developer of TwiDeep, a twitter client for WP7. Please do let me know if this post is not allowed here.
TwiDeep is already in the market and I have just submitted v1.1 of the client and made it a bit better.
However, the problem I am facing at the moment is lack of devices to test on. It works fine on my HTC Radar. But, that's the only device I have. If any of you are interested in testing it out, I will appreciate it.
The client is now free on the market for a limited time. So feel free to test it. Any bugs, I request you to please send me an email on [email protected] .
Thanks again
im going to test it now on lumia 800
http://www.windowsphone.com/en-GB/apps/aed25ace-a32f-4546-9048-454207b3f6f5
Thanks, hope you enjoy it.
Do let me know your thoughts on twitter @deepra_uk or [email protected]
Tried it on my focus, works fine. Not a huge twitter user though. The authorization was pretty good, trying to follow someone gave me an error and I think you should probably just add an option in the settings to send you feedback directly from the application
im getting error
"There was a problem in connecting. Please check your phone's internet is working and that it's time is set correcly".
Happend yesterday and now too

Thank you all for trying TwiDeep.
I have released a new version with a few bug fixes and a few UI changes.
I am sorry a lot of you have been experiencing connection problems. Unfortunately, it doesn't happen on my HTC Radar. Would any of you be interested in beta testing on other devices. I think there is an option in the marketplace for private beta testing. Much appreciate all your help.
Thanks again.
I've been using it on my HTC Titan. The app works fine. But the inability to email or share a tweet is a serious deficiency that will keep me from using this as my Twitter app of choice. Am I missing something? That should be a basic function.
@gmfeld
Thanks for trying TwiDeep.
We have added a few sharing options like InstaPaper and Email tweets in the latest version. This has been submitted for review and hope it should be out very soon.
Thanks Again

Hi Good for Enterprise Users!
Just installed Andorid 4.2. on my Galaxy Nexus.
Good stopped working - here's my interaction with GFE's support. Thought it might be of interest for someone to share!
[...]
Dear support,
having received an Android Update today, I found Good for Enterprise not
properly working anymore.
The problem is, that mails are received as expected, but cannot be
shown. The client responds with 'Nachricht nicht mehr vorhanden' when
clicking/tapping on it to show the contents. Sorry for the German, I
don't know the exact English message, but it means something like:
'Message not available anymore'.
The calendar function seems to be OK.
The combination 'Samsung Galaxy Nexus' & `Android 4.2' may be not
supported (yet) by GFE but I strongly hope, that the client app is being
updated soon (within days). Up to Android 4.1.2 everthing was fine.
[...]
the response (within one hour!)
[...]
Admins,
This is something that actually has been seen. The message that comes up is usually "the message no longer exists". We are already in development on a fix for this version of android software to offer better support the 4.2 operating system.
A notation from my next level today has shown that they have come up with a fix that works properly and are just looking to ensure that no side effects are going to happen and then time to publish it to the google play. We did not have details on time frame as to the official release on that.
Was there any other details that you are looking for at this time or does that answer what we can for you?

Have the same problem. Looking forwad for this update :good:

Problem is ... I am on the network.
Hope they fix this too along with the other problem.
Exactly same troube.
I learned to go around it. If you tap "Reply" to the message, u can actually see the email that you are replying too
The fix has arrived.
Encountered a few freezes of the app when zooming messages. So expect some regression...

I was so excited to update my Nexus 7 to 4.2, without me knowing the problem it may cause to GMM. So GMM just stopped working. I tried to reinstall last night frm Google Play hoping that it is the updated version, but to no avail.
Now still waiting for the update.
