The only reason I'm not using this rom is that no protected/paid apps show in the Market.
When I rolled back to a Modaco 3.0 for some reason (maybe Googles copy protection) I can not even use apps that I have paid for.
The only way I can see protected/paid apps in the Market is to change my Google account but then I would have to buy the apps again.
hope this gets sorted soon.
The Clock doesnt Work in this Version. Maybe its because I set the locate to German but no idea it just keeps crashing everytime.
I can see protected and paid apps by the looks of things.

In the BUG list it shows protected and paid apps missing from the market. BTW have you ever paid for an app? It seems that its only stopping peeps who have paid for apps.
I've paid for apps (Better keyboard and camera zoom pro), but paid apps (as well as ones I've bought before) still appear in the market

The problem is with copy protected apps. Non-CPed paid apps will show up, but apps with copy protection is hidden due to some filtering sh*t in the Market.

I think you'll find that most of the Hero developers (modaco, lox, benhaaam, tekno) are only releasing to other sites now (htcpedia, modaco, etc), what you're seeing on xda-dev is mostly second hand information, and when the information finally does get here it relies on a back link back to these forums for a download.
what if a fully working 2.1 shows up in that site which needs login? still wont u login to try it? LOL
Pretty simpel, i just won't register, i try several ROMS if i had to register for every dev that brings out a ROM (when i was on G1) i think my fingers would die of typing the same over and over If there is a fully working ROM then i will wait till someone uploads it or an other dev who doesn't upload in a registered area and maybe customize it al little
For now only 2/3 things won't work @ the ROM i'm right now, i think it will work fully in this month
A lox al respect for you and deving it's just a fact that i don't like to register to every forum on the planted to get what i want

yeah now i understand. it actually depends how crazy you are about it. like me..i cant wait 1 minute after a rom gets released to try it. and a friend of mine actually doesnt even bother to come to xda. if i flash him a rom myself he will use it or otherwise he wont bother.

Had exactly the same problem coming back to Modaco 3.0 Rom from Lox 2.1 Rom. I found that a reinstall of the rom and a wipe along with Market Enabler allowed me to download my paid apps once again.
EDIT: Market Enabler itself might solve the problem

Because then Google will be accused for tracking every Android handset out there?
It's up to 3'rd party apps to give you that functionality.
Windows Phone and IPhone both have the built in functionality and I dont see anyone complaining.
The issue with 3rd party apps is that half of them crash phones because the Android Market place lets anyone in and there are too many android devices./... I have tried 2 different find my phone apps and they both crashed within minutes of me installing it. Not something I can rely on .
Does anyone recommend a app that works and is stable on the nexus (stock)?
I've been running lookout for a couple years now. Never had it crash on me.
Thanks I will give it a try.

I know the Facebook apk that has best notifications is the 1.6.4. But does anyone have a previous version that has working notifications but faster loading fb? I'm always on edge so I got curious. 1.6.4 works great but on edge is also a pain.
I use the browser version in opera mini (Fastest fb can ever get) but I don't get notified about my notifications so I need the app :/
Sent from my Super Galaxy Ace using XDA.
Why dont you just update the app? But if u still looking for it why dont u just try search at blackmart because i saw many facebook app there..

The updated version uses HQ images. Which logically take WAY longer to download. The notifications are awesome but the whole app consumes A LOT of ram. 15MB+. More than my launcher.
If I have an older version with working notifications and just lighter over all, it'd be really awesome.

If you want a fast lightweight app which is easy on mobile data then get Tinfoil for Facebook. It's an optimised private version of the mobile Facebook site (No cookies in the browser). Although it doesnt support notifications, the dev has publicly stated that he is working hard on it. The more people we get to use this app, the more incentive it is for the dev to build the app to support notifications

Can't picture the use case, but no, need a PC to enable/disable.
I had to go to a different app CCSWE in app store.
The work note 10 plus ccswe app manger :good:
Anyone plz let me know what to disable for security updates and things of that nature. Thanks
Package disabler pro works for me on my note 10. It's not available in the play store and hasnt been for some time. I purchased it directly from the dev site. Believe its 3.00 usd. Just installed it today and it works perfectly, even after the new software update
Devs behind Package Disabler Pro are scam artists. The apps work, but they are always deleting them then releasing a new version a few weeks later. Usually after a new phone comes out.
They've probably done this 5-6 times since I got the my first app from them. I asked them about giving me a license since I already paid, and they basically told me it's Samsung's fault it gets removed and I have to pay again to make up for the trouble.
Ha! No thanks.

Wait, so you need a PC in order to disable or enable an app through adb but yet you can't picture a use case for apps like package disabler pro?
What about apps you don't use often? Isn't it better to disable them until you need to use them so android don't have them running in the background for no reason?
So what if you're using a different launcher than the stock launcher wouldn't it make sense to disable stock launcher until you need it?
I can go on but the best part is that you don't need a PC to do it.

I don't think you even need package disabler for that, you can just go into developer options and disable auto update from there. Or in package disabler in system apps you should see one that is called "update" or something like that.

That's good to hear I bought it from the play store, not sure why I didn't just buy it from their website since Google or Samsung can't block that one.

Actually it's Samsung that requests that Google block the app in the playstore. They plainly tell you to buy it from their website because that way Samsung or Google can't block it. So instead of paying 5-6 times why didn't just buy it from their website once?

No need to get defensive. It is better to disable so android isn't running them in the background, I just can't think of an app I'd ever need to enable/disable on the fly. Certainly not the stock launcher, that can stay permanently disabled.

If you read reviews about them, they are notorious for doing what I said. Not once did they ever tell me I could get the app directly from them by the way, it's always been to rebuy it from the app store. They don't list a website on the play store and the email address is where they told me to keep rebuying it in the play store
Not to mention, they always name it the same thing. I can't for a minute believe that google keeps allowing them to re-upload the app with the same name over and over again if Samsung is getting it removed. lol.
yes, let us just keep covering for shady companies who find a way to force additional sales of their product through "forced" rebuys.

Not defensive/aggressive in the slightest. It's just that I use it all the time and I disable pretty much every app I'm not currently using as in every app gets disabled until I need it, with a few exceptions. Android/Google/Samsung services are not killing my battery in the background. But to each his own.

So you are saying they also made you pay twice? I still wouldn't be happy with that. I paid for the license, it's not my fault Samsung got their app removed. I'd have to dig, but I have the emails where they told me I had to pay again because of Samsung causing them trouble. They could easily issue a code to let me claim the license I already paid for.
I don't think they really want website sales, but will take them as a last ditch effort. Can't claim Samsung made you delete it off your own website.
If they wanted the sales on their website, then they would have their website listed on google play. Then someone like me who searches for the app like today, where it doesn't exist again, could look at one of their other apps and find my way to buy it.
For what it's worth, they do the same thing with the LG version of the app. They delete it at least once a year then release it again. Not sure what excuse they use on that one.
Edit: I will give them one last chance, I sent them an email again to see if they would make good. See if things have changed.
How about a list of apps people have removed successfully without issues.

This is definitely true. I have been re-buying this app almost every time I get a new samsung phone (been upgrading every 6 months to S and Note series since the Note 5/7/S7 Edge, so that is at least 10 different devices. I am pretty sure I have re-bought it every time! However I have always used google opinion rewards money so it was basically free for me, now that they only sell the working version on their site I am done with them.
Today, I found that ccswe is again not working due to knox license issues, I emailed the dev, and told me that, for whatever reason, samsung revoked his license, again… what a pity this thing is… I am confident about the dev solving this issue, meanwhile.. Samsung: ?
Yeah it's been like that for months. Very disappointing. I find that I'm forced to pay for an appblocker onna yearly basis that has no managed to be viable longer than a year. I miss the GatesJunior rooting years. His apk manager was the best.
Hopefully he's able to get his license back and get the app working. Best part about this guy is I don't have to re buy the app when it starts working again. And he does communicate. I also hope his health is good, last time he was in the hospital for a while.
Yes, the dev is really a honest guy, no need to re-buy or anything of the sort, I think he has troubles derived of how powerful his app is, hopefully he will fix this issue shortly
i also hope he manages to resolve this unfortunate issue with Samsung

There are two versions, the one for rooted devices does not need knox licensing, and it is free I think, the other one, which is a pay app works on non rooted devices, that is precisely why it relies on knox

oh - i never read about the possibility to really remove apps, without root. interesting. i wouldn't mind paying for this.
for me the two missing things on Samsung stock: proper backups like in titanium, including log-ins, or diskimages, as in TWRP-recovery and completely removing useless apps like FaceBook. deactivating them in Appmanager seems to be no proper solution, especially as as many of them can't be deactivated.

Well ccswe, and for that matter, package disabler pro, do not have the ability to unistall certain system apps, they can just totally disable them, ccswe is more powerful than package disabler pro, as it is able to block things inside an app without disabling completely the app itself

Lots of pesky things.
PD MDM is the only reason this 10+ is usable without root.
Lol, AT&T updates/apps and bixby* get blocked first...
*Bixby Vision and Vision Framework are needed by the cam.
The fine granularity on the app is great. We can see all the servi, activities and other interesting elements of each app. I've seen something like that only with apps that have root access, like MyAndroidTools for example.
I was testing the free ccswe app when it stopped working. I'm gonna buy the paid version, the only draw back was that I saw just 10+ downloads on the store. Was wondering why ppl don't buy it. Reading here your opinions gives me more reasons to get it.

No, no it doesn't. Target tracking (yellow square) needs it, possible advanced metering functions and probably more.
Those two Bixby apps only run when the cam needs them.
It does not appear to me that he lost his Knox license, I read sonewhere that he said the "free" model no longer works and he has a paid version up now, so he must have just disabled the license for the free version. The paid version is showing 100+ downloads now.
Stupid question, but I mainly used CCSWE to disable apps starting at boot. However, I never really confirmed if it was working and I've see other apps claim to do that (non-root) such as All-In-One Toolbox I believe. Has anyone confirmed thay CCSWE actually prevented selected apps from starting at boot?
He has posted a notice via ccswe update that Samsung has revoked his partner licence and without it and the keys that license grants the app can not function. both free and paid app are rendered inactive
The developer seems a decent chap and has told me that if I buy the paid version again and email him the details he will refund the original licence. Thing is I'm reluctant to pay for something that depends on a licence I don't own. If I'd realized that it only works seemingly at the whim of Samsung, I probably wouldn't have bought it in the first place!
If Samsung has revoked his partner license, how is he selling a paid version of the app? Is that why it is a beta, so all the reviews from people saying they just purchased it and it doesn't work don't show? Even if he gets it working again, it seems like an extreme gamble to purchase an app that keeps loosing its licensing.
Is there any other non-root method of disabling startups on a Samsung phone?
