Anyone have any ideas why I keep getting continous reboots no matter what ROM I use. Started earlier today, though I had random reboots before with CM-6.
Tried flashing Fresh 3.2 after wiping cache/data/dalvic. And when system gets into Android it just continously reboots. Though timing of the reboot could vary.
Tried going back to other ROMs (stock..CM-6...fresh 3.1) and the reboots linger...
Did you flash a custom kernel and overclocking it too high? Did you root via Toast's method and install the engineering bootloader to unlock nand? CM6 requires this bootloader as do other ROMs.
Either of these would cause bootlooping.

My phone has problems with rebooting ... thought it was a temp thing but now it seems to only happen when I'm using the browser. Once in a blue moon it'll reboot when not browsing but not usually. I can use the XDA app to float around these boards for an hour without a reboot but within 5 minutes of opening the browser and navigating anywhere it just reboots. Happens on any ROM stock or not.

both of these problems sound like you're using too low voltage or are overclocking. Try loading the stock RUU, factory reset, and then load stock kernel. If it is stable, then change to a new ROM. If it is stable, then switch to a new kernel. Be sure to wipe.

this happened to me. I had to fix the issue by deleteing the last 3 or 4 apps I downloaded and restart.

a boot loop is when the phone doesn't boot all the way through and it loops over and over. a reboot, when the phone is on and working, is a reboot.

I rooted via toast's method with the nand unlocked. I was using snap kernel with CM-6 but with the UV and no OC. But I was still expieriencing the reboot-(loop) even after full wipe /data/cache/dalvic x2 than installing any ROM.

SO I Did a full wipe and wiped cache/dalvik cache twice, and installed Myn's ROM. My phone is rebooting itself anytime I'm browsing the net or doing wireless/wired tether. I can feel my phone getting hot on the back during the process of rebooting. What is causing this? I've tried flashing different kernels but to no avail. Is anyone experiencing or have experienced this problem? If so, can you please point me to how I can fix this? Everything works fine until I begin to browse the net or tether, and then it goes into a boot loop until I remove the battery for several mniutes, then everything is back to normal. Also, ive noticed that when i do full data wipe and reboot, everything is bavk to stock however it seems myns rom isnt coompletely removed. Wiped a few time but same thing happens. Please help! ;(

really you did a search and didn't find this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=818260 its a common problem especially after rooting and flashing something that will run two differnt network signals
Thank you! Much appreciated.
Okay, so after rooting my G2 I decided to flash this rom.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1012763
Now after I used Rom Manager, I checked the back up etc.
After it backuped it installed the new Rom, at the moment I am at the HTC screen and it keeps rebooting not sure what it's doing exactly.
Shows HTC screen, after a few mins, it turns black plays the HTC sound and shows the HTC splash page again.
What to do?
Boot into recovery and wipe cache/data.

And if that doesent work try to flash the rom again.
I ran the adb command to go into recovery, then restored it from a back up I made.
Going to try another ROM, thanks guys!
Does anyone have MSN?
I flashed cyanogen, but it has the same issue, the splash screen comes up then dissapers and the cynaogen screen comes back again.
What to do? Is there something wrong with my phone?
You didn't have to restore your backup.
If you had wiped the /cache and /data partitions, everything would have been fine. There is nothing wrong with with your phone.

This may be a ROM manager that produce this boot loops, Skip rommanger . Boot into recovery -power-wolume down . Navigate to recovery . Chose wipe data/ factory reset. Then wipe cache and /data partitions, flash cm7 and gapps.
First off let your phone sit for 20 minutes after installing a new rom. The first boot takes a good long time. If after 20 min it doesnt start then come post about it. Make sure you post exactly what screen comes up when it reboots ect.

Cleared the data and cache all is fine now, thanks!
Have a side question about overclocking, how do I do it and what's the recommended amount?
Depending on the ROM's install a kernel
You have a lot of options. It's not necessary but if you still want to first install the app 'setcpu' or 'cputuner' and then download a kernel and flash it the same way that you flashed the ROM's. Best of luck!
Which rom did you end up flashing? A lot of them come overclocked. As the above person posted you will need one of those apps anyway.

I used the one on the main post, seems that SetCPU is not free.
Downloading CPUTuner..
With only reading the heading of that rom i would assume there is no OC built in as it is untouched. You will need to flash a kernel for sure to OC. I cant recomend any for that rom as i have never used it.

If you're still using the ROM in your OP, I don't think there are over-clockable Sense Gingerbread kernels yet.
I had a rom, that restarted the phone on its own, and the launcher kept getting erased, so i installed another rom and it wouldnt work.I had to Odin, and then have tried to install about 6 diffrent roms, with none working. Either it will get stuck in a boot loop, or just the buttons would light up with no screen. Please Help me
Give us more information. What roms are you trying to install. Rfs or ext4. What cwm are you using?

You listed his issues he's probably flashing in wrong Cwm or with wrong build....
Odin the ECO5
THEN ROOT WITH THE ONE CLICK ROOT 3.0.2.5
THEN FLASH ACS FROZEN 1.1.1 (Best ROM Ever )
.... Thats it
thats exacly what i did. Frozen was the 1st rom..then i later went to the gingerbread leak (anoymous) and it was working but i kept losing data connection so i went back to urban fury...then it ramdomly would reboot with no launcher and i tried to reinstall, and ever since then all i can do is odin. i wonder if my root some how is messed up or something
I'm currently running acs's sfr 1.1.1. I Flashed it twice because I had a bad flash. But otherwise its running great. There's great vid's that show you step by step. It should be in sfr 1.1.1 first post in the dev section.

What ROM?
And if its SRF did you download the version without the kernel included? Or the one with the kernel in it?
Could be bad downloads?
Try running CWM 3.0.0.6? I think is the previous version
I was having a ton of problems with 3.0.2.5 constant boot animation loop
couldn't get past any of the roms boot animations
I odin'd back to EC05, completely rerooted with the previous clockwork and it flashed good after the second time of course
had the double boot logo at first lol
if that doesnt work you could go into the bonsai recovery, I havent had any problems with that recovery at all
Hello forum,
I recently switched from CM7 because I was having some issue with random resets and FCing with Maps that slow down and shut off my phone. I flashed to the New Fresh ROM to try it out. That worked fine, but I missed the pull down notification bar. I tried Salvage-Zen but got stuck in a boot-loop and then I tried Salvage. I got past the boot screen but when the Android pops up even though I click I can't go any further. Does anybody know of a possible solution?
Few suggestions: Are you wiping properly, do you have the latest recovery (amon ra or clockwork), are you flashing gapps, did you update to all the latest radios/wimax/prl?
Why don't you try to flash decks aosp rom!

do you do a clean wipe before flashing roms or are you just installing one on top of the other. I would suggest looking for Caulkins format all zip and run it prior to flashing a rom
Same problem on friends phone just use amon RA wipe everything twice and flash and be patient with the white evo 4 g screen it may take a while there.

Well, I don't know if this is how I'm supposed to go about doing this, but I've been having issues recently with Quantum rom, and was planning on posting them in the actual Quantum thread, but I need 10 posts to do that because 10 posts mean something important.
Anyways, Ive been fine previously just doing
1. Wipe Dalvik, cache, and system,
2. flashing rom and gapps
3. the wipe option you get after you flash (TWRP)
Ive been doing that since i started basically, until 1.9. Anything after 1.9, it either constantly crashes, has processes constantly stopping, or on one of the versions (2.1 i think) the screen would constantly flicker (which someone else mentioned happening in the thread). So i figured I should try a clean flash, so I try wiping everything and flashing, and doing the default factory reset option and flashing, neither of which helped. In fact, after doing the clean flash it made 1.9 stop working too, so I had to restore my 1.9 backup to get it working again.
Anywho, if anyone has any advice that could help me get the newer versions working that would be great, Thanks!
EDIT: I might try flashing a different rom, to see if the issues persist elsewhere, but firstly Id like to stay on Quantum, and secondly, iirc I tried one a different rom when 4.3 first started showing up in roms, and I kept having problems, to which I just went back to Quantum.
It sounds to me you have a bad download. Have you tried re-downloading the ROM? I run the Quantum ROM and I have had no issues whatsoever.
I'm also looking forward to your reply about flashing another ROM.

Well, I've tried flashing every version including and after 2.0, up to the current version, and have the same problems for each one. So i somewhat doubt that that's the problem. Ill probably try to flash somethign else some time tomorrow

Could be your recovery too. I believe the Quantum ROM developer recommends CWM than TWRP.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I747 using Tapatalk
If you do decide to change to CWM, make sure you revert to your TouchWiz backup first since TWRP and CWM backups aren't compatible. My best recommendation is to re-download the newest version (2.35 as of 11/7/13), and wipe data/factory reset, wipe /cache, wipe system, wipe dalvik cache, then install ROM and Gapps, wipe cache and dalvik again, and reboot.
iirc, i noticed a fair enough number of people on TWRP that I would prefer to stay on it (since it *should* work). I did, however just update it, tried again. For 2.31, i just get constant for closes on phone and SystemUI, and others iirc. Im trying carbonRom right now, and its working perfectly fine.
EDIT: I did get one SystemUI force close, on it, but its literally constant on quantum sadly.
also tried a couple random other roms, all work, but no Quantum rom will work after 1.9. I also tried just flashing it and not gapps, and i end up with the same thing. Now its just constant force closes though. I don't think i remember seeing any flickery screens like i was getting around 2.1X i think it was.
What bootloader and firmware are you using with the later quantum ROMs.... I believe that the more recent ones need the dmg2 or emj2 boot and firmware to run properly.... Also what were your settings in trickster did you disable mp-dec and UV... Were you OC using stock quantum kernel etc.

I think that the leaked 4.3 bootloader (whatever end code they gave it) isn't necessary yet, since it hasn't been officially released by AT&T. I'm personally holding off on flashing any 4.4 rom until they're a bit more mature and don't have as many hiccups (although pwncake's work is superb). The UV depends on your device and how it handles it, usually, mine needs +25 than stock but it doesn't seem to shorten battery life. All throughout 4.3, it was best to keep MP-Decision off since he built one into the rom. In the case of 4.4, IIRC from Quantum v3 beta3 and forward, he removed his own MP- Decision, so you could keep it switched on.

I just flash the ROM and boot. If I should be flashing a seperate firmware slash bootloader, I'm not (and never have to my knowledge). I couldnt have gotten to the trickster settings if i wanted to due to the constant force closes.
Would anyone know why when I enable ART mode on Quantum 4.4 Beta3 Rom, my phone continually has pop up messages with unexpected errors? -Such as calendar storage issues or the google keyboard(This should probably be in the ROM section but I can't write there.)

I tried flashing the new beta 8 of v3, and it worked with the odd restart and FC on the side. But the restarts were starting to get a bit annoying so I tried reflashing, and now I just get infinite boot animations no matter what I do. And if I try to restore my nandroid backup, there's this flash every 2 or 3 seconds around the boot animation. Sigh
EDIT: actually, completely reflashing works, but still ends up with the random reboots when doing random things

sorry to hear of your problems. it is not the rom. enough folks are running it and I have had flawless installs. Read the OP and follow the directions, it works.
there is a new TWRP (from their site) that I downloaded as a .tar file and flashed with odin. flashes 4.4 roms now so you might try that rout.
my suggestion, in its limited knowledge is this:
put the rom, superuser, and the gapps on your SD card.
Reboot into the new TWRP and format the system- your phone is now blank.
install rom zip
install superuser zip
reboot.
first boot may take a bit, but not forever. Set up CM stuff and go from there

search the quantum thread about google settings. you have to turn on google now and disable notifications. also, I've been using the swift keyboard and don't have to deal with the google or android keyboard. that seems to have helped.
enable art after loading apps and be prepared for a wait for android to upgrade.
