when i launch mobileap i just get a blank screen. nothing else. eventually it force closes. i use jm5 with captivate kernel. could that be the reason why? what do i need to do? thank you.
please help me
anyone? i'm sure some ppl use jm5 with captivate kernel. i tried installing unhelpful kernel as they say its the kernel thats the issue but still same thing. black screen when i launch mobileap.
Why don't you use the proper kernel for the i9000?
That's if you have a i9000
The kernel is included with the rom.
Try it again. If it does not work then you have killed your radio.

Well, this is a forum for the I9000 phone. We have no experience with the captivate. Maybe you could try the captivate forums.

I believe this is a midnight rom issue. I had it on that rom only, and it was confirmed by others in the thread. I've not had it on AEmod or Starburst (which I'm using now that he upgraded to NoCiq)

See I am not sure that is the case because I am not on the midnight rom and it is happening on my phone.
what rom are u on?

I am running just stock Rom, No theme or costume Rom.
I am just Rooted, and i am still not able to stay shutdown.
Are you running Zedomax's kernel? I've read that his kernel will cause the phone to power on by itself.
I had the same problem on my Original Galaxy S (but only on Gingerbread). So it may be a Samsung Gingerbread thing?
problem solved, i left the midnight rom and went to aemod rom and it stopped doing it bit that rom is not to easy on the eyes. i then went to starburst rom and not only is it stock looking but i havent had the power back up issue and if tried atleast 20 times.. good luck all

Awsome, it all starts here!
I can fix wifi and other things but i dont have power right now soi cant work untill i do... also what kernel are you using for this? It has to have init.d support for themes to work and also the euro galaxy s2 version has the camera working last time i checked.

I'd be curious to know what kernel as well. You try eri n apns for service? Wifi might be the same fix we've used for 2.3.5+ issues in the past as well since our kernel is technically built for 2.3.4.

Im pretty sure data wont work ever without an aosp kernel... codeworkx has one for us on his gihub but every time i try to compile i get errors... it hasnt been tested tho because they dont have the phone yet from what i know.

hey barnacles,
if you grab the 'official' rom from miui.com or even the int'l sgs2 miui port from xda, all you need to do is swap the zimage with one of the epic 4g touch's (like LoStKernel) and it will boot up and function (maybe what the OP of this thread did, didn't download to see). Data and wifi were no go. If I remember, the cameras were working though unlike what this OP says. I've been working on this here and there but I definitely dont have as much free time as I'd like as I'm getting ready to move to the other side of the earth.
I'll be more than happy to answer questions and/or help development going as soon as I can put some time aside to work on this.

I'm not a fan of the MIUI ROM(its to iPhone-ish IMHO) but I still wanted to say thank you for this post. Although I know it wasn't its purpose, it did point me to the SkyRocket's Development, and Themes & Apps Section, and man do they have some goodies over there, which I never would've found had it not been for this post, so thanks again!
so you essentially made small tweaks and got aosp based rom from sgs2 int to boot? if so, nice. I wonder if this works with CM7 as well.
Omggggg we need to get this rolling. I thought someone was already working on a port for MIUI? What is this for? Excited nonetheless lol.

It came across my Google+ stream that there is a leak of the ICS 4.0 value pack
Any of the Epic Devs gets a chance to check this out yet?
Anything we can use for the Epic from this?
Here is the XDA link:
# Arrow # [Leaked Firmware] I9000XXJVU (2.3.6) [BIG Changes|Download|ROOT|Screenshots]
Old news dude. Several posts and threads about it already. And no one wants to try and port it since SamMobile is trying to get us our own leak.

cool, didnt see it in a quick search, so figured I would throw it up

If just for the modem.bin provided it is not dialed down like the previous leaks. I figure our existing kernels would still work on it.

As of now it's unsure whether the valuepack is included in any test roms for the Epic 4G. We won't know til we see them. Also, Samsung claims the valuepack didn't work very well on the Galaxy series and has stopped working on it.

Hmmm...then maybe someone with some spare time can look at the portability of the i9000 leak. It is mostly just a theme with a few new apps. Can't see why Samsung would give up so easily on it. Good thing they didn't think GB didn't work well on the Epic after 8 months of test builds.

Does Rom Manager work on the Captivate Glide? I'd try it myself, but in the past, even though I could pick Motorola Milestone from within the app, it screwed up my Milestone and i was left without a working recovery image, so I thought I'd see if XDA had any experience here.

If you look at my signature you can see what I am using. [CWMR ZIP]I927UCLG9 Stock ICS With the keyboard fix and tethering fix and I removed bloat via TB. But there are many out there that I am sure work really well. I hear that "[ROM] [UCL9] LiteROM 0.4 - Slim - Smooth - Stable" from ThegreaterGood is very popular. I just have not tried it yet. I am holding out for a beta of CM9.

no it doesnt work :crying:

Search in tasks AOKP thread..I remember this being an issue but can't say it has been fixed. Just search "pandora"

Yeah, he basically said it was Pandora's fault, even though I have a Skyrocket on 4.2.2, a S2 on 4.2.2 and a HTC on 4.2.2 and those three work so I tried SlimBean for the hell of it in my S3 and it magically worked again, it is an issue with his rom in some way. I still use his rom because it works great but SlimBean was damn close.

Unless you provide a logcat, there's nothing Task can do about it and has to assume it's a problem with the app. He doesn't provide support for 3rd party app (nor should he).

Multiple log cats were brought to his attention, it was the apps fault instantly. I gave up because he has a great rom and I have donated to him for his great work. I just go online to Pandora and change my lineup.
