Hi guys, I've just getting my desire it is locked and branded to 3uk and has a boot loader of 0.83, could someone advise me on the easiest way to root as I have read so many contradicting story with regards to screen and boot loader issues. Many thanks.

Hi,
Just got my first ever htc phone the htc desire locked on 3 (UK)
I was looking around and I am preparing to root the phone using this guide:

It says however that your device must be hboot 0.93 or lower. I checked and it says my phone is 0.93.0001 is it still okay to use this guide to root it?
Also will rooting my phone unlock it or must the phone be unlocked to root it?

Ok, I am a newbie. I have these questions.
I have brought the desire second hand in India. It says t-mobile at startup splash, so I gather its a branded mobile but I can use Indian (Airtel) sim. So its network unlocked. It's stock with following detail.
Pvt IV s-on
Hboot .093
Baseband 32.49.00.32U
Radio 5.11.05.27
Software 2.12.110.4
My question is
Do I need goldcard ?
Can I use WWE ruu without goldcard
After rooting and custom Rom should it again need to be network unlocked
Any help is greatly appreciated. Besides these points any suggestions are also welcome.

there are tutorials on forum for that,all you had to do was little reading first...anyway here's the tutorial for unlocking bootloader
