Hi
I have alot of SMS'es I want to delete and also have alot I want/need to save.
Is there a way to Select/Mark multiple SMS'es and then delete? I don't want to delete the whole threads as there are many SMS'es I want/need to save.
I'm using the built-in SMS application right now.
Regards,
Kensy
The way that I manage them is by tapping and holding the text that I want to keep and then tapping 'lock'. If you do this for all of the texts you want to keep, you can delete the thread but those messages will remain.
I think there is a program or a patch that allows you to mark multiple messages but I'm not sure what or where to find it.

Appreciate any help with the following questions regarding SMS:
On the home screen is it possible to hold more than 25 texts on display to scroll through without having to go through all messages tab?
When deleteing messages in the all messages tab,is it possible to delete messages seperately when you have multiple messages from the same person.I keep deleteing whole "conversations" rather than just one or two that I don't need to keep.(hope that makes sense)
And finally,is it possible to add another folder to the list i.e. named friends for example,as well as the standard deleted, drafts, inbox, outbox and sent folders?
Apologies if this has been asked before, but I'm all searched out on this one! lol.
you could try to change the layout of the messages, instead of threaded, you could put standard and delete one by one? I haven't personally tried this though.
Of course deleting from TF3D would delete just one message...
Thx for reply............anyone else have any ideas, even if its just to tell me it cant't be done,at least I'd know ,thx.
Bump.............any help??

Thanks for the tip on changing the message layout from threaded(I'm a complete noob and have only just found out how to do this in tweak!) I think this will solve the problem of deleteing messages I want to keep.
Can anyone enlighten me on how to/if at all possible, add another folder to put messages that I want to keep into. e.g. Friends folder,Work messges folder etc, cheers.
Hey guys,
I've got an annoying problem with my touch pro 2. For some reason, text messages in the sent folder are not sorted properly. For example, if i choose to sort them by "from" option (which is supposed to sort messages by contacts' names), all messages get jumbled up and i see several texts from contact X, then a few texts from contact Y, then again a few messages from contact X, then Y, and so on.
I also noticed that when i search for a keyword in my sent folder by typing that word, it doesn't find all the matches, but it only finds some of them.
One more thing is that i tried this with the sent folder of a new touch pro (Fuze), and i got the same problems! So i guess its not a problem with my device....but anyhow i am using the latest official HTC rom.
I just wanted to mention once more that this is a problem with the sent folder only, inbox folder works flawlessly.
I really appreciate it if you guys can perform the same steps and see if you have similar issues...or if you might know or can think of a possible solution for this sorting problem, i appreciate it for sharing it with me
PS: I've posted a similar thread in the Fuze section as well (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=728299).
has anybody tried sorting messages by "From" to see if it works?.....
Hmm, haven't tried it (not that easy on the new HTC messaging client), but in the Sent Items folder, the From field would be your own name... for all messages. It probably uses time/date as a second sorting criterion.

thx for replying but what do you mean by this?
basically all i wanna do is to create a backup file for messages of individual contacts....so i have to sort them somehow and put specific messages (from each contact) together in one folder...
so do you know of a prog that does this for me so that i dont have to do it manually?
thx alot dude
I am running CM6 and can't seem to figure out how to delete multiple e-mails at one time using the stock Android e-mail app that comes with CM6. I have 187 items in my trash folder and really don't want to have to click the check box for each one to empty my trash folder. Is it possible? I know I can download K9 Mail but would like to see it if is possible using the stock app first.
Hi
I have a lots of Recieved and Sent SMS'es (total of 600. Now I want to delete about 400 of them.
I don't want to delete the whole threads as there are many SMS'es I want/need to save.
Is there a way to select the SMS'es and then delete, rather than delete on by one?
I'm using the built-in SMS application.

I'm posting this on behalf of my boss, so please don't shoot the messenger in case the answers are something obvious. I don't own a Note II but I'd appreciate the help.
The boss would like to know two things:
1. How do you handle Exchange tasks using the Note II? He needs to be able to look at outstanding tasks, assign them, etc.
2. He uses Inbox sub-folders extensively. Is there a way or an app which lets you quickly see all unread emails in the Inbox and its subfolders?
Thanks, appreciate it.
The stock email app does let you see all your sub folders and access and move them as needed. As far as the task while I dont do much with this I do a little here and there and the stock email Syncs with all that also

Thanks for the reply.
I understand that you can see the sub-folders but what he's looking to do is to be able to see all unseen messages ONLY in all sub-folders in one view. I think you can understand the issue.. he's got, say, 15 sub-folders with hundreds of messages in total but only, say, 30 messages which have been unread, all scattered among 15 sub-folders. He's looking for a way to see only those 30.
As for the stock email app, I run a Galaxy S III so my guess the email app would be similar. I don't see a way to manage tasks. You sound like you know how to acccss the tasks.. can you give me the steps or tell me in which area of the email app to look? I see no mention of tasks anywhere.
Thanks.
