am a fairly new user to the desire so still coming to terms with it.
i have the standard mail app and the google mail app, i have a hotmail account and a google mail account, rather than use both clients i belive i have set up google to imprt my hotmail emails, however new mails do not show up on my widget.
question is should they show up? and how do i select how often it checks the client for new mails?
thanks
sorry if this seems rather lame
if your gmail is set to import the hotmail messages (done in gmail-web based), remove the hotmail account for the 'mail' application.
then try sending a test email to your hotmail account, and wait a couple of minutes (the hotmail push->gmail is not instantaneous) and the email should show up in your gmail inbox.
create Gmail Labels to differentiate hotmail from gmail easily (done in the web-gmail. below is the outcome)

Hey guys.
I'm trying to figure out how to do 1 of 2 things.
1. Is there a way to Remove the GMail and Mail App alltogether *Without breaking anything*? If I recall, I didn't think there was a way without breaking sync support for calendar and contacts.
2. If the above cannot be done, is there a way to keep the GMail app from actually syncing your mail, and removing any mail that it was allready sync up? I've allready disabled syncing in account settings.
I installed K9 mail, and rather use that, so that ALL my e-mail is uniform. (I have like 6 e-mail address's. haha)
it should be in teh settings, remove automatically sync...that should do it. i dont know why urs keeps syncing

I found an inverted email.apk over here but could get it to work without Exchange Service errors. This fixes that.
Back up EmailGoogle.apk and ExchangeGoogle.apk with Titanium Backup. Then use Root Explorer or other file browser to delete these apks from /system/apps/ Reboot the phone, then install my apks as normal user apps.
Screenshoot.

Thanks for the info, after installing the 'Ice Cold Sandwich' rom i could not install Exchange mail only Gmail, by doing the above i am able to use Exchange mail, Calendar and contacts again (as well as Gmail).
I was wondering if the E-mail app and exchange for SGS 2 XXLPQ could be ported to work on either any other ICS rom for SGS I9000 or even the new XXJW4 or XXJW5. I like the e-mail layout and all the e-mails are push and it does also syn with task for exchange accounts. both e-mail and exchange app are attached.
UPDATED
I have done some more playing around and found that if you change the setting in Facebook itself to "Hide Declined Events" this also hides them in the exported calendar URL.
Problem fixed!

Hey Team
I have looked all over and found lots of treads on changing what shows up on your phones Calendar but none are quite what im looking for,
what I want is for the Android Calendar to show only the Facebook Events I have accected or not resonded to yet and my standard Google calandar.
What I have tried:
Syncing with all of Facebook: This brings the Events you have accepted and Not answered yet but it also bring every single friends Bithday over, filling you calendar/Agenda with junk
Exporting the FaceBook Cal via URL: This brings over the events without the Birthdays but has ALL events even the ones you have declinded
Does anyone know a way to get the accecpted events (and the not yet replied if possiable) without the BIrthday reminders?
Thanks heaps
P.S Can a MOD please remove this if you think this will not help others,
Thanks
Hi there,
I am using the 10.5 Tab S wifi-only with unofficial Cyanogenmod. As backend I am using a Horde groupware server with Activesync support. Everything seems to work fine, but I have a problem with my activesync contacts. The stock contacts app doesn't display any contacs, although I selected to display all contacts (including local and exchange contacts). Someone could assume that the exchange contacts aren't synced. However, when I use the magnifier icon to search for contacts, the result list does in deed show my exchange contacts. Furthermore, as soon as I turn off wifi the search doesn't work any more. So it seems contacts are searched online only and no information is stored locally.
Any idea how to solve this?

Anyone?
I have problem adding event to google calendar (from any calendar app, even its own app) form Le 1 Pro US(Rooted). Every time I try adding an event the phone keep sync it to google calendar multiple times and continue to do so every time it sync calendar(see the picture). It won't stop until I delete them all from the phone and google calendar. Not sure if this happened before it was rooted.
Anyone has this problem?
Any suggestion?
Should I try deleting and reinstall Calendar Storage and CalendarSyncAdpter?

Problem solved. This is how I did.
- Download Google Calendar Sync 5.2.3-99827563-release from apkmirror or the attachment.
- Uninstall Google Calendar Sync(please backup original just in case). It's system app. Your phone have to be rooted. Easiest way is to use System App Uninstaller.
- Install Google Calendar Sync 5.2.3-99827563-release. (You don't even have to make it system app)
- Done. Working perfectly.
