Hi,
Just wondering if anyone knows of any dual sim adapters that work with the HTC Wildfire? Tried googling but the sites that come up only list adapters but do not seem to promise that these adapters work with this phone.
Have a personal number and a work number that are separate and it would be handy to just carry around one phone.
Thanks
Dual Sim for wildfire
You got me interested in this and my search came up with this company that says it does work with the wildfire
cant post the link because of forum restrictions, but if you google the company at simore.ch you will be able to find it from there. It says the platinum and platinum plus are compatible.
They seem really good and have videos showing how to do every step. The only thing that worries me is having to cut up the sim cards which I hear is normal for a dual sim adapters.
I just got a 26th gen cutting Magic Sim dual sim for my HTC Desire from a seller on ebay (he was the cheapest seller by a mile) i've also tried it in my girlfriends Wildfire and it worked a treat!
If you want info on the seller i got it off just PM me as i doubt i'd be allowed to post it on here.
Cheers

yeah, love to have one too
i advice you to do not do that becuas it use so much of the battery near 3x
when you have the duel sim in it.. can you be could by both numbers. or do you have to switch firts to be reached at one of the numbers..
Because i'm loocking for somthing that i can be reachable at two number at the same time..
sorry of my englisch.
Its extremely unlikely that both will be reachable at the same time by using those adapters, although I havent seen / used them personally.
If you want a dual standby phone, get a proper Dual SIM phone.
Dual Sim
Here in the philippines its normal to have dual sim phones, also we do have tripple sims because we have 3 different network provider....
But i dont suggest to have dual sim on HTC
1 it destroys the quality
2 it voids warranty
3 it suck to put dual sim on HTC phones. it lowers the value

I WAS informed, by a phone dealer, that the BA COULD handle 2 phone numbers.
Orange deny that it can - who's right?
If it CAN'T is there a XDA which can?
TIA
Peter
I don't think 2 phone numbers from 2 sims simultaneously.
But orange have line2 functionality; I'm not sure how to switch, but if a Nokia can use it, I'm sure a PPC can.
Otherwise you have to use a dual sim and switch between them as needed.

me looking for it too
hi
i am also looking for it too so i can surf the net on one and make calls on the the other
can some one help me !!
use magic sim
hi guys,
use mafic sim for the same...
u can load upt 16 mobile numberes on it which u can use...
pm me if anyone wanna buy...
i have only 1 new piece in stock...
Magic sims don't work in the UK (and western Europe generally I guess) since we use a more modern encryption system on the SIMS that can't be cracked reliably. If you want a dual sim, use one that hangs outside the phone, or use one that requires you to cut up the sim. I've got one of the latter.

magic sim's work wonderful in india!
hi, the magic sims work wonderfully in INDIA but!
So all around enjoy!
I got a dual SIM adapter from eBay.co.uk. Search for "xda dual SIM" & you should see some for sale. I use the "King of double card" adapter & I paid about £10 (inc P&P). You simply switch the phone off & on to switch SIMS (i.e. use flight mode on, then off). I also splashed out £15 for a bit of software that does this ofr me including entering PIN numbers and displaying currently active number inthe today screen
Hi,
I just bought a TP2 and is very happy about it - it is far better than my old Diamond.
I'm quite tired of having to carry two phones around; my private mobile and my work mobile, so I'm looking at a Dual SIM adapter.
But I first of all want to hear Pros and Cons for using this.
When I google the subject I see a lot of old Posts dated back to 2004 ~ 2007. It's hard to find any up to date review or comments regarding this subject.
So have any of you lads experience, recommendations or even advise against this?
Thanks,
CBW
im interested too! someone pls shed some light
Personally I do carry 2 phones and I have tried dual sim adapters not for TP2 but for diamond1 and pro1 they do work but the performance is not that good.
Cons:
- You can only use 1 sim at a time. So 1 sim will show as switched off even though it is there.
- Some (most) chinese adapter only work with GSM therefore your data conection will be waaaaay SLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOW.
- It takes time to switch.
Pros:
NONE that i can think of.
Advise:
Peopple just carry 2 phones working at same time both on and both working with 3G ( if your phone is capable and you need data conection)
Buy a dual sim mobile phone (samsung d880,d780) is very good for this
Chinese dual sim phones which are quite good and work perfect.
Problem with dual sim phones is that NONE of them is 3G all of them untill now are GSM. This does not work for me because one of my numbers is on Three UK so i cannot even think of a gsm phone.
Currently using TP2 on voda and SEw995 on Three. and it does the job for me.
Sorry for long post but you might find some info usefull.
I use software called magicall and I believe one of its functions can have a call forwarded to whatever number you want. It may not be exactly what you were looking for but some type of call forwarding might cut down on missing calls when you don't want to carry two phones.
or there is the acer dx900 which is a true dual sim windows mobile phone. i looked at it, but decided against it as the spec was not a huge leap from my old touch cruise. i got the tp2 instead and decided to stay with 2 phones!
Hi,
Thanks for all your posts. I got much wiser regarding this subject. The conclusion is that I will stay with my two phones for now.
Dual SIM adaptor for the TP2 doesn't work as well as either 2 phones or a dual SIM phone such as the MINI IPhone found in China. Funny thing is that a clone manufacturer can make a Dual SIM simultaneous solution. Both SIM cards work simultaneously in the phone but you don't get any advanced software features such as a real WM device >.< . If you want to use a cut-up dual SIM, they are compatible with the TP2.
Just wanted to know if anyone knows how android would handle a dual sim setup on the desire and if any adapters have been tested by anyone here?

I can't believe they stopped allowing two numbers on one sim..... my orange nokia phone back in 1991 had the possibility for two numbers on one sim... was brilliant for one for work and one for personal all through the same phone....
Takes 20 years to bring it back - LOL!

how do dual sim cards work?
It is hard to get much info on dual sim cards from googling. Anyone know if you can use both cards where they switch automatically and you receive calls from either phone number. Can you use the data service from one card while being open to receiving calls on the other card. Or do you manually switch between the cards without having to physically change cards.
Tmobile android is great in most of PDX but useless in some of the outlying burbs. It would help to have prepaid att as a backup number
From prior experience you had to reboot the phone to change SIM card
There are some here but they list them as being untested with the Desire yet.
http://www.simore.ch/en/mobile_phone_accessory/HTC/Desire.html
They do have a video on there if you dig around showing it in use in a Hero and seems pretty good. No need to reboot phone.
Phil
Using these dual sim thingies can I receive a call on either line and pickup or will I only be able to pickup the active line?
-------------------------------------
Sent from my HTC Desire
You cannot use two sim cards simultaneously on the Desire. It has to be only one and to switch by rebooting the phone, because Desire has only one active GSM radio. The phones that operate two sim cards simultaneously have two GSM radios which operate independently from each other.
Anyone tried one of the myriad of Dual SIM adapters in a Desire yet ?
From what i've seen there is one which you cut your SIM and put 2 in a holder which should fit into the standard SIM slot, but i'd rather not cut my SIM. The second type of dual SIM holder is one which the second SIM is typically folded over the battery with a ribbon cableSP2,,{/w].
So has anyone tried the second type please and does the battery cover fit ok after the adapter is inserted ?
(yes i know two SIM's cannot be active at the same time, but i need the switchable feature without popping out the battery every time i travel out of country for work where the roaming charges are ridiculous)
I tried both with my touch hd. The battery was heavily affected even if manufacterer said it wouldn't.
Now i just carry two phones

I tried the "MagicSIM 2008 20th edition" from deal extreme, it only worked when the Desire was locked to GSM mode only.
3G mode didn't work in a Nokia handset either, so I think the switcher was to blame rather than the Desire causing issues.

I have Simore Dual Sim in my Desire, but he only see one sim card. So i cannot recomend it.
any updates?
I use Simore Platinum, work well. Some time lost a 2 SIM, I have to remove the adapter and check the SIM is a good position.

How does it work with data communication?
I mean if you have SIM1 with one operator and specific APN, when you change to SIM2 with different APN how does that work??
Other question, how do you change SIM, I guess via Simore software. Is it good?, is it fast in change from one active SIM1 to activate other SIM2?
Sorry but I never had dual sim adapter (only dual sim dual standby phones) in a smartphone.

Number Hide and Number Edit.
I ended up getting the 26th cutting for my HTC desire off ebay. If you email the guy who's selling the no-cut version (he's the cheapest i could find) he also sells the cutting version which works with the HTC Desire. I've had it working for a few days now.....running smoothly! I'll report back in a week or so and let u all know if its still running nice.
Not sure what the No.Hide and No.Edit functions do....i might email the guy i bought it off and ask

This is still working great. For anyone who's interested I've also had it working in my Girlfriends HTC Wildfire.

Dose anyone know if you can get one that works with the 3 UK network? Most of the ones I've seen say they are not compatible with 3 UK network.

Noticed this for the HTC ONE X, had one for my SG2 (which worked fine) before swapping to the ONE X. Anyway i've ordered one so i'll soon find out if it works ok.

No, but you can simulate it and mayb possible in the near future. I think i am going to order it too.. But need a new case then lol
FAQ on some other site:
Q24. Can the two numbers be on line at the same time
Answer: As one mobile with only one receiver, it is very difficult to make two sim cards online at the same time? Anyway, we are never stop making efforts to this direction.
The present method to solve is if you set calling divert service for two sim card, two sim cards will be online at the same time.

The "simulation" is nothing to do with this dual sim adapter; you can set a divert from any sim to your One X sim, so calls from that sim come through to the One X as well.
I don't think feature won't come any time soon either.

Interesting....wonder will it take a normal SIM and a micro SIM in the adaptor.
Sometimes you need at oversea station
It arrived! (only taking a couple days) and its been working well so far. Very satisfied!
The "2 sims online" option is for timed switching (so you can set it to switch sims every 10 mins etc)
For anyone interested this is the exact item i bought...

Honestly this is really cool! I have a few questions though. If I have a 3G data bundled line and a normal 2G line, will I be able to keep the data on permanently while switching between the two lines for calls only? My guess is no
And the 2 slots are for microsim only right?
I wonder if this can fit into my Otterbox commuter.
