I spoke with someone from customer service on 8/30 and was told that the case would be out in mid October. I have been using Otterbox cases for the last couple of years and have to say that IMHO the quality has decreased plus they changed they're warranty from lifetime to 1 year. I will be holding out for the Ballistic HC case.

do you think XDA members are also Otterbox employees? Sign up on their website and they will email you when its available. That's what I did. By this point I'll probably stick with TPU cases, way cheaper, thinner, and protected my phone perfectly when I dropped it on the pavement.
I'm using the Otterbox 1900 PDA case. Near perfect case for me. Though probably too bulky for most people.
Come on! This has been discussed. already. The answer you are looking for is "We don't know when they are coming out!"
Like someone else said, sign up on their website for email updates. The Facebook page is pretty much useless because you are going to get the same answer that everyone else is receiving.

I could have sworn i saw somewhere that we should expect to see it by the end of august.
When you consider there is still not an otterbox for the Incredible or Desire that have been out much longer do not expect one anytime soon.

I dunno. The iPhone 4's case is already out, and that phone is not even close to a year old. I guess it just depends on the popularity of that particular device. Hopefully it's released soon because I work in the oil industry, and my phone is likely to see accidental abuse (if it ever ships)!
They also have cases for the Incredible, which has not been out very long.

This is the one place when talking about how many handsets of a single phone can come into play and mean something. Since the iPhone sells so many handsets they have a built in market for the product where for android our market is spread across many handsets. So if you were making a case it only makes sense to make it first and right away for the one that sells so many instead of 20 differnet ones.
One of their reps told me their "average" time to market was 2 months after release.

They are trying to get better about dates but 2 months is garbage. They still do not have a case for the Incredible, Desire or EVO all have been out over 2 months and the first two have been out 4 months.
Finally just bought regular case and a zag screen protector. Not waiting around anymore.

Consider how many iPhones per day are sold versus how many Droid X devices. It's really in Otterbox's best interest to cater to the iPhone first and foremost.

The bigger, the better.
The case I have on my X atm is actually pretty slim and has saved it from being mangled twice already. Even with the case it is still just as slim as my Samsung Eternity is (my AT&T phone).

They aren't available yet. It's still the notification by email thing... They just have the designs and individual choices up now.

I sent otterbox an email after asking on there facebook page if they were going to have a case for the SGN and there reply was >
We have not confirmed if we are going to make a case for this device, but I am happy to pass your request on to our development team. Customer Service finds out about new case releases the moment they are posted to the website. Not having an Otterbox won't be a dealbreaker for me but I sure hope they make one. I loved the otterbox I put on my Bionic before I decided to return it due to the lackluster pentile screen.
As usual I have asked Otterbox if they intend making a case for the Nexus.

Apparently they're still looking into it.
Not having an Otterbox is certainly not a dealbreaker, but it is disappointing if they don't release one. We already missed out on the Nexus S defender that never went into production.
Those that want an Otterbox, I encourage you to tweet or FB them urging for a case. The more interest they get from us the better our chances of a case coming out. If they don't get many people asking, they'll figure the public isn't interested.
As per jive's suggestion, I've tweeted them for a defender. Lets flood their inbox guys.

I don't think you'll get a defender you might get a commuter like they had for the SGS2
But I tried the commuter out and it was as slippery as an eel NOT like for the iphones Also to mention the commuter was made for the unlocked version and it didn't line up the mic hole on the AT&T version
that's why I'm going with the AGF Ballistic If it matches up all the hardware right.
I do like the case-mate Tough case but I don't like that empty space on the bottom

I've already contacted Ballistic about the HC series case for the GS3. They currently do not have this in the works. However, they claimed that if they get enough requests for the HC series case, then they will produce it. I am asking all of you (even if you dont plan on getting a case as bulky as an HC series from Ballistic) to please email them and request it. here is the email address for Ballistic - [email protected]
Well that's dumb of them, not to have one in the works. The SGS3 is very likely to be the most ubiquitous smartphone ever, outside of the iThing. If ever they would get their investment back on producing a case, this would be it. Good luck, hope they change their mind!

I emailed them over the weekend. I too would love to have this case. I'm getting tired of iPhone getting all the cool accesories. I guess they have to have all the cool stuff because the phone sucks lol. Just kidding, don't flame me I will provide an update if I ever hear anything back from Customer Service.
