Cell phones emit radiation to send voice and text messages to the other caller. This we already Know .. Right ??
Well How do u feel, when u get to know that Rhodium is placed in top 20 mobiles based on d highest SAR value ..
Link to SAR values of Htc -http://www.sarshield.com/english/radiationchart-htc.htm
Top 20 Mobiles With highest values - http://reviews.cnet.com/4520-6602_7-5020357-1.html
(Even though Rhodium not listed at the bottom i assume that it can be listed @ d 19th or 20th position due to its high values )
So i wanted to know if there is someway we can reduce the values ( Radiations) By applyin some software tweaks.... ??
How on earth have you come to the conclusions that it is 19th or 20th?
Its rating is 1.41 which is 0.4 lower than 19th and 19th is 0.4 lower than 13th - go figure
You don't work for the statistics department at the Daily Mail, do you?

At work, I take my phone out of my pocket. At lunch I set it on the table. On my ride home I take it out of my pocket and hook it up to my 3mm jack. At home, I place it on my desk.
The phone obviously puts out some nasty stuff, be smart and don't carry it around in your pocket at all times.
There is no risk at all with radiation. Take this into consideration.
Your phone broadcasts at we will say 1 watt of radiation power. This is a conservative number being that phones typically radiate 1/4 watt. A radio tower can broadcast at around 50,000 watts. So if you stand anywhere near the tower you are getting so much more radiation. And the higher frequency signals in your phone penetrate less into you skin than do the radio tower low frequencies. So you have nothing to worry about.
You may not believe this but in todays world of things to worry about being killed by my cell phone is at the bottom of the list.
HT
of course cell phones emit radiation. thats what radio signals are. if you want a cellphone that doesnt emit radiation, you can find a nice piece of plastic instead. just saying: the laptop in your hands is probably releasing more radiation.

Ah but the plastic is probably outgassing some sort of Toxic fumes or is made in China with somthing lead based. You could the two cans and a string method but that has issues as well. Was the can cleaned or does it have bacteria hiding in it? And then there is the whole mobility issue of having the string getting caught on everything.
I think its best if you fall back on the old stand by of shouting. If you have to make a long distance call then cup your hands around your mouth.

I think progressive soup has a big network of string/cans...maybe you can hack into their system
There is the big yellow ball of radiation in the sky everyday. If you have ever been outside you have been exposed to a lot worse radiation than you are ever going to get from your phone or microwave oven. I suggest a full tin foil body wrap
a 3cm led fareday cage. tbh youre probably getting more toxic radiation from the remnants of when the first atomic bomb went off.
I've had this phone since launch, currently running midNIGHT rom with the E30+ kernel. Almost lost it today. I was walking across campus today listening to music with the phone in my sweatshirt pouch, little did I know that my headphone cord had gotten caught on my backpack. Someone called my name from behind, and I quickly turned, launching the phone from the pouch, ripping the headphones out of my ears, and launching my phone a few feet from me, slamming hard on the concrete on one of its corners, and proceeded to bounce a few more feet.
I watched this all happen in slow-mo, saw the phone fly but couldn't react!
Total damage, a scrape/dent in the top left corner, no screen scratches or performance problems as of yet. I'd say I got out lucky, after this I bought the insurance from sprint and will be looking into a case haha!
Because an 8$ tpu case is expensive right.....
Lol

haha. now that's why you need a case out of. the box

Yeah, I definitely learned my lesson after this, I used my Nexus One with no case for 2yrs with 0 problems, figures I would drop this within 2 weeks. >.>
The horrors!!!!!
Forgot to mention the drop was at least 5.5' off the ground, and bounced a few times, at least its a VERY sturdy phone!
So my phone has become my primary GPS navigator (although I've still got an old-fashioned one in the glove compartment, since the phone's GPS seems to refuse to get a lock if so much as a single cloud appears in the sky). I discovered, to my surprise, that the phone with its case on (using a Casemate double-layer case) manages to fit snugly in my old GPS's carmount. Yay!
Here's the problem, though: my car is such that the only place the mount actually adheres properly is the windshield. There's no room on the dashboard to put it, and it doesn't stick properly on any of the compartments or drink-holder covers. So if I want to use my phone as a GPS, it's gotta be on the windshield--I've tried using it in my lap but the GPS signal starts to stutter in its update frequency and sometimes gets lost altogether.
My concern here is that the outside is very, very hot (average temp for the past month in DC has been in the 90's), and mounting the GPS on the windshield essentially means I have the back of it pointing directly at the sun. I've sometimes pulled the phone off the mount when I'm done with it only to find the back has become very warm.
Since it's a double-layered case my hope is that it's only the outer plastic case absorbing all of the heat, and the inner rubber case is insulating (wrong word, perhaps?) the phone itself from all of that. But I'm still a bit worried I'm risking frying my phone by continuing to do this.
Any suggestions? Is the phone okay with a little sunlight? Should I try to find a drink-holder mount (if so, links would be handy, given those at Walmart are designed for iPhone dimensions).
All advice is appreciated.
Ya my phone is my primary gps, i sold my real gps, because this just works better. I can lock within 8 ft. I drive 1400 miles a week. My phone sits in my car when temps outside are over 100 degrees. Its constinually in the sun and i honestly haven't had any issues. It doesnt overheat yet when i put it to my check it burns......ouch. but ya i have no issues with sun or the temps affecting my phone. Though the pandora symbol and the nav symbol is permintly burned into my screen.....:rolf:
Btw i have no air conditioning

Have you tried running your air through defroster its how I have been keeping my phone cool
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
If anything the case will make the phone hotter. Maybe a white case would offset this in sunlight. What temp is your battery running? There are lots of apps to check this.
That's why I thought solar battery recharging replacement battery doors were the most retarded thing I've ever seen! Heat/direct sun exposure is BAD, VERY BAD for smart phones or any other expensive electronics. Stand alone GPS were designed to be in a car so they should be able to take the heat better.
I use my phone as a primary GPS as well. And I'm in Texas, where the temperatures have been a scorching high ninties.
I don't really use a case at all though. No problems with my phone. Though, an important note is that I have the white version, which probably deflects most sunlight.
EDIT: I got a good idea. Why don't you use this car mount? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1405977 Since it's in front of the AC, your phone will never get hot .
Hi all!
Having seen Zagg EXTREME Invisible Shield torture test video filmed at Best Buy on the SGS3 (on YouTube - I am not allowed to post the link here), I was impressed to seek out this product for the GN2. I found it locally but I noticed that it didn't say "Extreme" anywhere on the box. I didn't purchase. I decided to call Zagg and inquire further. What I was told is that if the product does not say EXTREME on the outside cover of the box, it isn't that version of the product. Glad that I didn't have that product installed thinking that they were the same!
Extreme is a separate entity that was not made for every device, unlike the regular Invisible Shield product which is virtually made for many devices. The difference according to the Rep with whom I spoke, is that EXTREME can hold up to what we saw in the torture test, whereas the flagship product is merely a scratch-resistance product.
I contacted the interim head of the company and got the "standard issue" response from the secretary. They don't make that product for the GN2. They don't have a date for release of said product. And they don't know IF they will ever make the product for the GN2. That is not wise.
Here we have a product which covers the phone entirely, allows us to keep the beauty of the phone without an ugly case and makes the phone virtually impervious...and they don't know IF they want to make this product for the hottest phone on the market?
Apparently they don't "get it." Time to bring out the brigade. While I am but one end-user, I represent a great many of us who would love this product rather than an ugly, bulky case to detract from the beauty of this beast. If you feel the same, Please contact Zagg, Inc and ask them to please rush the Invisible Shield EXTREME for the SGN2 to market. There is an email addy for the CEO on Zagg's website also. Frankly I wouldn't put a zagg on anything much less my note. I can't stand the way they feel. There's much better options out there. But go you for trying to twist the arm of a corp to make one.

i dislike zagg too but their dry shields are actually really nice and there is no chance of liquid damage while putting them on.
I prefer ExtremeGuards to Zagg. I have ExtremeGuard on my Echo that's still in perfect condition, even after knocking my pocket knife blade first onto it. The Zagg on my Photon didn't last a month before the back started to peel off.
So of course I got ExtremeGuards for my Note 2 and it's held up remarkably well to the S Pen

Thank you Casperi (and everyone for your responses). I simply cannot see putting my beautiful phone inside an enclosure. Aside from that impressive YouTube (Best Buy) torture test what really sold me on getting film was remembering that I had a similar product on my CLS. My car got "attacked" one rainy night by a runaway grocery cart (funny now, but not funny then since I had designo paint, lol). I cringed on impact. (Ok, so I actually cursed, but it wasn't ladylike, k?) I got out and inspected the damage. It was horrible. It looked like Wolverine had run by in one of his fits and swiped it. Next day, I took my baby into the dealership who said they didn't think the damage had gone through. Drove down to the Car Armor shop, lo and behold they peeled the film off and NOTHING...not even a skid mark was there. I suspect that the Zagg EXTREME product is a lower grade, but similar film. Anyway, it's a moot point since it isn't available now.
Update: I called the Car Armor shop and they are going to install that product on my phone for me! They do it all the time for their clients who are having their cars done. I know how good this stuff is firsthand. I am confidant that it will work well in this application.
I want more than just scratch resistance for my phone. I want to know that if I happen to drop it, the screen won't be shattered. So, this turn of events is probably a godsend. Gyrlz like pretty phones that stay pretty...and tough!
So, can you please share that Car Armor shop address and/or phone #?
Thank you.
WTF.... What am I reading?? Ya let us ALL know about this stuff so I can put this ****t on my whole car... Then I won't even have to have my vehicle insured!! Think of the LONG term here everybody!! :silly:
I love my note 2 but it's hardly the hottest phone on the market. The s3 has sold 60+million units and the note 2 is just above 5 million.
I would really like to hear more about this CarArmor though.

C'mon now Kush...How long has the s3 been out? The note GN2 is at 5 million in 2 months. And that on the heels of the S3 being a hot seller and those buyers being tied to contracts. Plus, the GN2 had form factor issues to overcome in the buyer's minds. Whereas the S3 is an average size phone. Not to spread it on too thick but, the GN2 has also accomplished the unthinkable. People are actually dumping their iPhones and getting the GN2 or changing their minds about getting the iPhone and getting the GN2 instead. I hear it from people daily. "I was going to get the iPhone but..." It's a hot phone and it lives up to the hype (Well, Tmo users got shafted on Multi-Windows and LTE for a bit but I heard that it's coming.). I'm giving you a hard time, Kush, lol! I really love my GN2. But back to Car Armor, lol

My guys who did my original job were in San Carlos (Clear Armor Protection) and partnered with Jerry Rice. I don't know what happened to them but they were awesome. Both companies offer touch-ups if needed. For example when they replaced my front fender covering after the Wolvie incident, they didn't charge me! Plus, they added on door sills and the handle cups (you ever notice how you get those scratches in the doorknob handle cup - from fingernails, keys etc? Well, they covered that little area with the film too! So cool!) That's it guys! The gyrl's eyelids are heavy now, lol

True. But the s3 sold like 30 million in the same time frame. I think it's pretty ridiculous how many of these phones have sold. It's an epic piece of machinery for sure.
And I work near Walnut Creek a lot so thanks for the info!

I have been an iphone user ever since sprint first got the iphone 4s and prior to that had the HTC evo and evo 3d
Anyway after switching to the iphone I never liked the way android felt in my hand or looked
They all felt like cheap plastic ESP THE SAMSUNG GALAXY'S, 1,2,3 my opinion cheapest feeling premium phone
This really kept me from switching back to the dark side =P
All that being said the lg optimus g just feels amazingly solid and looks amazing... Finally a phone with superior hardware and build quality and battery life now only if we could have JB and a nexus 4 port in my opinion this would be the best phone ever made
We should really start a petition to push sprint to get this damn update to our phones
I, wholeheartedly agree, on the subject of Samsung. I have never liked Samsungs build quality. I could actually sit here and rant on about all of the horrible experiences I have had with the 6+ Samsung devices I owned. Despite that, I have had a number of android phones with an excellent, solid body, and the Optimus G is definetely no exception.

I'm pretty positive they're working on it and honestly the Jelly Bean port over on the General thread is daily driver quality for me (The no-outgoing calls bit is annoying although GrooVe IP is a good workaround if you have Google Voice). This is a time for patience, a petition isn't going to fix anything (they need to bugtest I'm sure considering how bad this LG software is)
Looks like I was right
More on the subject of build quality, I got the LGOG about two weeks ago. So far the radio is strong and and I'm getting LTE here near the Tampa/Brandon area in Florida with pretty decent speeds with ZVB. Near the outskirts on -105 to -110dbm I get 12mb down and 2.5mb up.
Also, The few times I've dropped it there hasn't been a single nick or scratch. Also and very recently I might add, a certain someone got mad at me and threw it across the room and a pretty high velocity for about 6 feet against a wall, tumbling down a computer desk. After I found it lying face face down I thought the worst. To my surprise however, there was not a single scratch or dent or crack. I have to say I've been lucky because I would have thought the glass on glass deal would have done after that. Lol

What are your walls made of, pillows???? I dropped my phone six feet (although on asphalt), and it dented and nicked the silver part of the frame on top and bottom of the phone. But I will say I was surprised not a single scratch on the screen. So I will agree it is one tough son of a *****!!!
