Hey guys,
I've been working on learning Android programming and it's not too bad. Kinda like it. So anyway, been trying to think of a kickass program to build and the only thing I can think of is a User Dictionary modifiction app that works with Sense and AOSP but I can't figure out how to modify the user dictionary. Just pull from it. So with that idea aside, does anybody have any app requests? Just throw ideas at me.

If anyone can help me that would be great.
I have a Diamond running a custom rom which at the moment is running titanium just for speed really.
I have had a look for an application that can give me a simple update on the news and is fitted well into the UI. I have looked at 'pointsense' but i dont think it can do what i want ?
To explain better i want something similar to what can be done with android where they add widgets that give news feeds, a simple swipe across the screen and there is a page of current always updating news. I dont mind using UI changing program. I have also tried Manilla and tried to get this set up somehow but so far with no luck.
Thanks again, any solution is a good solution for me.
Hey, I think the SPB mobile shell could be a nice application for you. the new version runs really stable and fast!

Hey guys, I hope you can help me out.
I just got the Galaxy Nexus and upgraded to the stock 4.2. I am very happy with it but there is one small snag.
I previously had the HTC hero and it had an option to intuitively search your contacts when you are typing stuff in the dialing pad. I don't see this in the vanilla Jellybean. It's really strange as this seems to me like a must-have function and I can't think why they would have omitted it.
I searched all the options over and over and found nothing. A friend of mine has a custom jelly and it has it.
Please tell me if I am doing something wrong or if this is by design for the vanilla version.
Thanks in advance!
yes, vanilla JB doesn't have that unfortunately. but, if you are rooted you could try replacing the stock dialer with the one with T9 capabilities - you could find it floating around the board, though i haven't tried yet,
or you could use custom ROM, that's what i did.
Download an app from play store.
I personally like DW contacts.
Swype'ed on my CM10 Galaxy Nexus
You can also use exdialer from play store. Great dialer with themes. No root required.

By Design who needs T9 when you have Google Now? Just swipe up from Navbar and say call Contact X. Just about every custom rom features a T9 dialer so that is worth consideration.

I need it because I'm bulgarian and naturally my contacts all have names that Google Now has a pretty hard time recognizing when said aloud.
I'm thinking about a custom rom but for now I'll go with the dialers suggested in previous posts.
I still think that this option is something that any dialer should have and find it pretty puzzling that they should omit it in the stock one. My guess would be patent issues.
Anyways, thanks to all of you for your suggestions, you've been extremely helpful!
Cheers,
Hey Guys,
So I havent seen anything like this yet. But if there is someone that has seen an app like this feel free to point me in that direction. A lot if you have noticed there is a lot of power and hidden features that lie within the features.xml file for our device (and it looks like any samsung device running JB also supports this file). I am thinking of building a GUI for this file to simplify the editing of a lot of these settings/flags within this file. Before someone asks well why would you do this. I can just edit this with any text editor? Well this file is quite huge and can be quite daunting to go through. And a lot of people are afraid to perform XML edits. So wouldnt it just be nice to have a little app that lists all the hidden settings for your phone by category and turn them on/off. Similiar concept as build prop editing however it looks like samsung maybe be moving a lot more settings into the features.xml file. So if there are people interested in this. And I get enough positive feedback then I can start on it and I will also need beta testers. If things go as expected this should run on ANY samsung device running JB.
That would be sweet app. I would use it.
I'm in! I'd love to test it for you!
Sounds like a solid idea to me. I'd use it

I wasn't sure where else to put this, so I put this here.
I am a person who absolutely LOVES tweaking their UI. If I'm not doing something, I'll try to find a way to tweak it. If I AM doing something, I probably will still find a way to tweak it xD. Now, I know about launchers and custom roms and such (On my Nexus 7 2013 I have Paranoid Android and I'm using the Apex Launcher), but I want to know about the best and most powerful FREE UI changing apps, modules, whatever there is. (The reason I'm not using Google for this is because I'm really unlucky with Google and I find like nothing I want or need, and I'd rather get help from an actual person).
Thanks!
