Hi all,
I've recently changed my SD card to a 16G Class 10 Kingston card, and having huge issues with roms with A2SD. The issue i have is as follows
ROM takes a long time to flash, but boots up ok. A2SD is working - apps are being installed to EXT3.
When i reboot the rom, it usually does not start up again - it remains on the HTC white boot screen. If i remove the battery and reboot - it boots up ok, but then i get force closes on random applications.
I have formatted the card using ROM Manger, GParted and Mini Tool Partition. I can not seem to resolve this issue. I have checked the Card, and all seems ok
Looking for ideas.......
Thanks
Kingston SD cards have serious compability issues. I experience similar issue with a Kingston SD card.
The only reccomendation I can make is to sell it and get a Transcend SD
Hi,
I recently got an authentic Kingston 16GB micro sdhc and its quite slow when connected via USB - 800KB/s transfer
I tried formatting it with sdforamtter no luck, I'm using LeeDroid 2.2e (with a kernel that improved sdcard read)
SD Speed Tester came up showing its a class4 card.
I'm also using A2SD - 512mb for ext3 partition, the rest for FAT32.
Any interesting thing I noticed is the following scenario:
1) I formatted the card using SD Formatter to FAT32.
2) Installed LeeDroid 2.2d with NO A2SD and None-Dexoded version.
The write speed via USB was solid - 7mb/s , not class 10 but still much faster than 800kb/s.
3) I downloaded LeeDroid 2.2d with A2SD, installed it after a wipe and noticed
a speed drop down to around 1MB/s write via USB (and that's BEFORE I created any ext3 partitions)
Can deodexing somehow hurt performance? or are the kernels differ?
Any ideas what can be the cause of that?
Thanks beforehand.
I noticed that my 32gb class 4 microsd card writes at 3.5-4MB/sec while in CWM compared to only 2.5MB/sec when booted up. Is this usual for anyone else?
If it matters, i'm using Calkulins ROM.
So I think to invest in a very big SD Card 64 GB or even 128GB? As far as I remember it is said that the device supports SD cards with capacity up to 32GB. But if someone tried successfully running bigger SD cards, I will be happy to read positive experience.
I'm using a class 4 32gb card with no problems.

I've been running a class 10 32 gb card for 8 months now. No problems at all.
I too have been running a 32GB card all of this year with no problems. There have been reports that a 64GB microSDXC (the DHD takes the microSDHC cards!) runs on some phones. See .... http://androidcommunity.com/sandisk...working-on-multiple-android-devices-20110927/ ...
I was under the impression that this wouldn't work BUT .... the 64GB cards aren't cheap at the moment so I'd need to be absolutely sure they worked. Seems hopeful as they do work on the Sensation.
Anyone got one to try on the DHD??
Dave
i'm using lexar fast 32gb hcsd no probs so far, transfer speed 10 megs p/s ,its much cheaper than famously branded ones
No problems with 32gig class 10. As far as I know that's as high as you can go with the DHD.

No problems here with kingston class 4, 32 GB
I am using Adata microSD HC 32GB Class 4 without any problems at all.
I'm using a Sandisk 32Gb with no issues to report.
Are we using fat32?
It has size limits I'm sure.
32gb max i think but i did manage to get a 250gb hdd formatted to 120gb fat32 using a special program.

Issue with MicroSDHC 32 G. Not seen by HTC desire HD with Rom ViperDHD v2.2.0
Hi everybody,
I rooted my HTC Desire HD and flashed with ViperDHD 2.2.0 with Android 4.0.4 and HTC sense 4.1
When I tried to change my old MicroSD 2 Giga with a Lexar MicroSDHC 32 Giga formatted FAT32, the system does not recognize any SD card. Is it a issue of the ROM, a problem of HTC Desire HD or ... ?
thanks for any suggestion.

the issue is the SD card. The rom creates files on the SD card and removing it takes away from the rom. So either you need to copy all folders from old SD to new one or just use phone to reformat new one.

Thank you for your fast replay.
It is strange because the phone starts with the ROM also without any SD card.
In any case I copied all the content from the old SD card [2GB microSD] into the new one [32GB microsSDHC Lexar] and it simply does not see any card in the card slot. I tried various restart and the microSDHC appears 'not present'.
I can't format the card by the phone because the card is 'not present'. I formatted in FAT32 and it works perfectly with my laptop.
Do I have to reflash the ROM or is it a issue with the 32GB microSDHC?
thanks again for your support

No first reformat sd card on computer again then place in phone (Dont move any folders to SD just place in phone). If that dont work reflash rom without wiping anything but dalvik cache so you dont lose any of your settings.
Last resort would be to do a full wipe and reflash rom if you dont mind starting over with the rom.
EDIT: The only folder I would suggest to copy back on to your new sd card is the 4ext folder. Your recovery may need this one.
I am using 32GB Sandisk (class 10) and I haven't problem with this sdcard
when i use mobile internet my phone freezes , i think its froze randomly too and when texting.
htc desire
supernova xtreme GB
standard kernal and radio
s-off
ive tried a sandisk 16gb class 4 and now a sandisk 16gb mobile ultra class 6 and it keeps happening
surely it cant be the sd card?
what sd card do people use for this?
have u overclocked it?
nope . ive done nothing
u tried reflashing? or checking droidzones site forum?
tried reflashing . looked on his forum , found no answers
asked on his forum too , no answer yet either. im just in a hurry because im going away on monday and was hoping to have it sorted by then.
ive just ordered a 3rd sd to try now , Transcend 16gb class 6
Class 6 SD card causes freezing
My system is:
HTC Desire (Bravo) running Supernova with DATA2SD, using an EXT4 partition on the SD Card.
Installation works flawlessly with the original Class 2 Sandisk 4GB card.
With a 32GB Class 6 Micro SD card, the phone starts laggily and quickly freezes.
Card speeds as tested in the Ubuntu Disk Manager's benchmark utility (read tests only):
Sandisk SDHC 4GB Class 2:
Min=6.5MB/s, Max=10.3MB/s, avg=8.5MB/s; avg access time=5.1ms
Sandisk Mobile Ultra 32GB Class 6:
Min=20.1MB/s, Max=21.2MB/s, avg=20.8MB/s; avg access time=1.4ms
Can anyone explain why the faster speed should cause problems? (rather than resolve them!). I installed twice with each card, with the same results. The advice to choose a Class 6 card would seem to be doubtful.
Thanks for any help.
Your SD card is too fast for the phone / the ROM.
