I just recently rooted and flashed a stock rooted rom...
I figured out how to remove several other stock sprint apps.
And I searched... here and google. I was only able to find one hit and the person merely said they "did it"
So where do I browse to for the sprint NFL item to delete? Whats it called? Because I dont see anything in my /system/apps list that says anything along the lines of NFL, football, or otherwise.
Any help would be appreciated.
**I misread your post. I see that you already know how to remove apps. Sorry for the useless post.**
if your rooted go to the market and get system app remover, that'll work perfect.
You should be able to remove it with titanium backup as well.

Use root explorer and goto /system/app I think its called sprint-nfl or _ if its not there try /data/app.

It's in neither of those places. Looked trying to help the OP and gave up because I couldn't find it either. May try again later.

what about /mnt/asec
::smacks forehead:: the apk filename is com.handson.h2o.nfl.apk
Thanks for checking for me... I went ahead and bit the bullet and paid the buck for the uninstaller. It was called sfl-prod-release. The only way I knew that was it was because of the helmet.
Thanks again... this is now solved for me. But it is on record as to what it is if someone needs to look for it with their own free explorer to manually delete it.
I keep seeing a vm icon in my running services (it has vnotes in the title). I use Google voice and can't figure out what is causing this to load? Any insight?
Use titanium back.

I do but it isnt listed there.
Have you tried using Root Explorer and finding the voicemail's .apk in /system/app and renaming it?
I don't know if its safe to remove the voicemail.
If you find out let me know, I would like to stop it from running.
Anyone know?
Delete VVM.APK from your /system/app folder.
My Evo made me Swype this from the XDA App.

I'm sure somehow this will offend you, or offend someone else for some reason, but did you try searching? There are several threads and posts showing you how to do it.
No, I don't get offended. Don't even worry about it. Yes, I will do some more searches.

there are at least two ways that I know of. U can use ADB to remove them while your phone is in recovery mode or u can use Titanium back to uninstall just about any app.

Thank you, I will try this.
I just searched and came up with nothing.

rm -r /system/app/whateverthenameoftheapkis.apk
rm -r /system/app/whateverthenameoftheapkis.odex
In adb it would be
adb remount
adb shell
# rm -r /system/app/whateverthenameoftheapkis.apk
# rm -r /system/app/whateverthenameoftheapkis.odex
You could also use Root Explorer (or Android Mate, or SU File Manager), and go to /System/App, or use Titanium Backup, and delete that way. Be aware though, deleting the wrong things could seriously bork your install, causing you to need to relash.
Different ROMs have different methods. For example, is your ROM de-odexed? Are all apps stored in /system/app? I'm working on a script that can remove bloatware. Just trying to iron out the kinks.

I tried getting Root Explorer from a friend, but it wouldn't install.
I can't order from the Market any paid apps because I don't remember credit card info, when will they support paypal or add to your bill?
None of these apps are under system/app
Titanium Backup doesn't even work... I say Force Delete and then it says it will restart my phone twice and then it restarts it and it will sit at that screen where like your getting a update for 10 minutes then I click the power button and it says E: can't find signature or somethin' like that, so I select restart and I'm back to square one...
I am running the stock ROM.

I hope this thread is a joke? and it should be in general.
Use adb and use pm uninstall.
Or...more simple than anything... grab titanium backup and just pick and choose ANY apps you want to get rid off without doing any extra steps...

Ok...I must be retarded...but I can't figure out how to delete protected apps "bloat ware" using the free version of TI backup
Posted from my HTC Vision via XDA App
I really think you need to do some reading and learning before you start jumping into this. From ur posts u obviously have no idea what you are doing and need to know before you ruin your phone. Apps arent just labeled as you see them in the phone. If u can't figure out how to delete the stock apps you don't want there's no was your goining to figure out witch apps are witch in the system folder. And if you delete the wrong one ur effd. No offence or anything just read up and take notes then jump into it. oh ya post in the rite section
No offense taken. Still learning. Google is my friend I figured it out
That's why I love this community...lots to learn and always to better my knowledge and of course lots of helpful people.

What I did...was in TI Free...hit the "problems" button and it will ask if you want to load busy box...
Do it
Then it will list all your apps
Find the one you want to delete...press and hold
It will pop up a window and on the end of that window list there is a option to force uninstall.
That's how I got rid of a few apps I didn't want or need and my phone is running great.
But as the guy above said...be careful.
Good luck

Alright I have a question how do u get the market back on the phone
deleted it by accident
the phone is not rooted either
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
If your not rooted then you wouldn't be able to delete the market
I posted this for someone else
I said the same thing
They not rooted
So u can't deleted it if u not rooted
I thought so
But if u were how can u get it back
Sent from my PC36100 using XDA App
lol you just removed it from your home screen. Check your app drawer, it's in there.
Search xda evo thread for vending.apk if the person your refering too is rooted and u(or he) deleted it.
Push it to your system/apps folder

I'm going to be rooting mine and my girlfriends phone in the next few days. I wanted to see about removing the Bloatware on the phones once they are rooted. Is there anything special I need to download to be able to remove them? I have most of them disabled but would like to totally get rid if them. I searched all over for an answer but was unable to find one.
Thanks in advance.

Titanium backup. Just download it from the play store and that will do the trick. Search the forum to see which apps are safe to remove tho.
Sent from my SGH-T999
Titanium backup. It allows you to uninstall anything. If you are not sure about a program, you can freeze it, which will not allow the program to run, then if no problems occur it can be uninstalled. if you search, you can find an ongoing list of programs safe to delete
Thank you guys, I ended up getting the pro version and will search for that list of apps you talkrd about and go from there.

you can try getting a stock rom that's been cleaned of bloatware?
Thanks, I didn't know I could do that with tb gonna try it

You can't do that with TB. Find these bloatware-free ROMs in the android dev forum.
