[Q] Update from leaked 2.2 to Official 2.2 - Droid Incredible Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

A few weeks a go I rooted and updated my phone to the leaked 2.2 using unrevoked I believe it was called. Since then my apps I have paid for do not show up on the market so I can't redownload them. So I was wondering how to I install the official update to hopefully fix this problem.

Rooted using R6, froyo 2.2 update

Hello all,
Firstly sorry if this has been asked and answered already.
I rooted using modaco r6 method a couple a months back to go from T-mobile to generic HTC ROM.
I have checked to see if the HTC update for 2.2 is coming but it isn't.
Just wondering if this is because I haven't updated a previous update, since my root to generic ROM I have been getting the option to download a 27MB update (I don't have my phone with me so can't check the exact version).
Do I need to apply all previous updates to get 2.2 or can I just update to 2.2
Hope what I am asking is making sense.
Thanks
you need to be on the latest version in order to download froyo 2.2
Thanks for the reply. Thought that might have been the case. As I'm not able to currently set up wifi connection on phone, is it possible to download all the updates onto my pc and update manually.

2.2 update question

I updated early to 2.2 the .3 version can i manually reflash my phone to the older 1.47 version and then do the ota update from there. I know I will probably lose info but thats ok since i hard reset yesterday anyway.
No currently there is no way to "downgrade" versions on a non rooted phone. HTC does this so that yuo cant jsut downgrade and reexploit bugs.
Saddly your are stuck until HTC releases the upgrade patcht hey talked about i believe.

[Q] how to get the new update on a rooted 2.2 evo?

i have a evo that has 2.2 software and is rooted, i want to update it with the new update that is available, i heard that it has been rooted already, is that true? if so how do i install it? the new software number is 3.29.651.5
Most of the roms that people are coming out with are already updated.. the rooted version of the update came out almost a month ago..
and it was an easy search and it was on page 3 http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=789913

I am having some interesting ... luck

So last night I got received notification for the OTA update, I have been wanting to go back to stock for a while so I used the downgrade method to unroot, I followed a video walked though the process, and everything went just like theres.
The phone booted up and works fine, but Now I am at
Firmware Version 2.1- update1
Baseband version: 1.00.03.04.06
Build number: 1.22.605.0 CL161493 release keys
My issue is the phone wont get a notification for the Froyo 2.2 OTA update, I am stock now.
I waited over night hoping that in the morning I would get notification for the OTA, still no luck.
So I downloaded the official 2.2 DInc Froyo update, and tried to apply it through recovery. It goes through the process part way then errors out...
Any ideas on what I need to do, All i want is stock froyo.
Search for the 2.2 RUU and use it.
Will the 2.2 RUU be stock and allow for me to get OTA updates?
I am not finding the DInc 2.2 RUU, I have tried the search
Not everyone will get the OTA at the same time.. Might not be your turn yet..

Okay!!! Yay, I successfully updated using the 2.2 RUU, it was smooth as can be. Thanks : )
Now, I am not seeing my OTA update that I was seeing last night? Any ideas why it wouldn't be there?

Rooting question

Recently i rooted my evo with the unrvoked 3 forever, i was wondering if id be able to get the OTA offical update when it comes out and also when i do get gingerbread will it automatically unroot my phone?

It will unroot your phone and yes you will get OTA updates BUT
YOu will still have S-off to my understanding.
I would under no circumstances take a ota update if your rooted. Just wait a day or so and flash a rooted version. You could run into issues otherwise.
Don't Do It
I agree. Don't ever do an OTA update once rooted or you will have to do it all over again. Like previously stated, just wait a day or two and you can get a rooted version of the OTA. Also, go flash the ROM now. The devs have plenty of GB Sense 1.0 & 2.1 ROMS for the EVO. Why wait for a official OTA?
I guess i just want the offical release lol, when i get home ill try flashing gingerbread
