Can anybody remove the HTC framework check from the version of Teeter included with the stock Froyo Desire ROM please?
I'm running CyanogenMod nightlies, but wanted to put Teeter on...
I've searched and found an older version from Android 2.1. But after installing, the graphics are offset and the ball doesn't line up with the walls and the holes properly.
I also found another version for non-htc roms, but that turned out to be for hvga phones and there is a large gap along one side of the screen because the images don't fit.
I've pulled the apk from a deodexed 2.2 Desire rom, but after resigning it to get it to install, it still checks for the HTC framework at startup and exits saying it's only for HTC phones.
I've also decompiled the apk, but have no idea what i'm looking at when reading the code, lol (i'm guessing it's something in the smali files under /htc/protection/api/ ?)
I've attached the froyo version of teeter to this post.
If someone could remove the check, I would be most grateful.
wow, you are the only one that find this game fun.
this is usually the first one to go on my roms.
Hey I like it too! I'd love to see this
Nobody?
I thought someone would be able to remove the check?
According to other posts and previous releases, it doesn't rely on the HTC framework, but just checks for it at startup

I downloaded and installed the rom and everything appears to install correct however I have traces of the HTC Sense left on my phone... The dialer, the message, the people, the calendar, etc... are all still HTC icons and apps. I have the new stuff installed like super user, wireless tether and dev tools but this rom is supposed to be HTC sense free. Before I installed I performed a factory wipe and partition wipe but I think I missed something. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thx in advance.
The launcher is gone. Otherwise, Sense is still there.
I thought this rom had sense removed completely. I really dislike sense and was thinking this was a vanilla rom. There are a couple screen captures floating around and they dont have any sense visable in them. Hmmmm.

There are obviously more themed builds that are floating around for beta test. Just wait, I'm sure Froyo 2.2 will be ported fairly soon. If not, I'll learn to dev myself
May be a stupid question, but is there anyway to extract the new version of sense from the HD Rom and add it to a EVO rom so we can have the new sense and all our other phone features working?

I think having just sense rosie, lock, music, etc is what he was talking about. A flashable zip to update your current Rom, not a camera broken port. I would love the same.
I believe is not possible since they haven't done it yet , but maybe we get an update with the new sense which imo it was supposed to be for froyo since all the features like backup all the apps is a froyo thing and we didn't get it in ours cause they wanted to show this.phone with 2.2 asap, and not another deal beaker like the hero

no thats not what he was asking if you take what he said at face value. he was asking something that he could have had an answer for just by searching or manually looking at pages past page 1

Im glad you know what people are meaning to ask
I would hope, that everything said is taken at face value and people don't try to look for some hidden message
I know about the roms floating around out there, have flashed a couple, but they all have something broken, hence "having all our phone features working." A flashable zip would be the ticket, that way we could update whichever rom we prefer using...
HTC weaves sense into android very deeply so it's easier said then done, but people are still working on it so it could happen. Even so if HTC sticks to their pattern and releases another towards the end of the month they may beat us to it. Either way it's not something you're likely to see in a flashable zip that can update ROMs, it's too drastic of a change.
Difficult :/
I have been working on such a thing for almost two weeks now. It started when I just wanted the new music ui. I tried porting that and then I found that after porting it wouldnt show up in the programs list so i needed to modify some files to get it in there. I got that far only to find that it would crash on opening. Further investigation showed that when you open the app it also loads the matching widget and DLNA stuff. I proceeded to port both of those also to find that the DLNA stuff requires a customized wifi stack. Still havnt fixed that but I also found that all of them rely on the HTC copyright apk which cannot coexist with the one already on the EVO that everything elce uses. Simply put, it would just be easier to port over everything than just parts. Sorry bud

Ditto, similar thing happened with me trying to port the "People Widget". Just to much stuff is tied together. In the meantime I am working on an app for Comcast Voice.
The new Dell's Stage UI is anyone going to port this for our desires ?
It's a bit early to say just yet, I've had a swing by the EVO Forums, it's still rough there, have to change the LCD density to get it working apparently.
There's a thread for it in the EVO Forums, where it's been seen working http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=830656
I've tried to search for dell stage in both the Dev forum and the Themes and Apps forum, s'all I got ha ha!
There is THIS though at good and evo http://www.goodandevo.net/2010/11/unreleased-dell-stage-ui-running-on-htc-evo.html
You could always try it out for yourself, I've no real interest in it myself, basically just Sense but looks worse, the app drawer is KILLER though, needs to be in LauncherPRO IMO
Ahh right, I'll have to keep my eyes open I don't even like dells products so don't know why I want to try their ui haha.

Wow that actually seems to work quite well. I'm surprised it's as easy as installing a few apks Not quite like porting Sense to the Nexus One (different kernel, dependencies etc.) lol..
Its really nice tbh. Also surprised its only apks and not flashing a zip. But it worked well on Defrost 6.0

I posted this on the CM Slide forum but I haven't gotten any actual help yet, I'm hoping someone here on XDA will be a bit more helpful
CM6/7 comes with the Gallery3D apk, which looks nice. However, it's slow. I hate opening it and sitting there waiting for the pictures to load, especially in folders with a lot of pictures.
It's even more annoying when I am trying to send an email/picture message and I have to sit there for a couple minutes waiting for them to load.
Does anyone have the stock gallery apk, or a good alternative? Or ANYTHING which will help whatsoever?
Thanks
So I don't know what this is, but the thread looked similar.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=775897&highlight=gallery
You could try that out, the file on mediafire there is Gallery.apk, but I haven't tried it out.
Thanks for the quick response
I actually did try doing that, it worked but it was very..unorganized, I guess. And no way to change it around to make it better
I'm currently using JustPictures...hoping to pull the stock gallery from my girlfriends Slide when I see her..but I was hoping maybe someone had a nandroid backup or something.
I looked in the stock Eclair ROM and it' says HTCAlbum.apk. I'll upload the .apk for ya, I hope it helps you out somewhat.
EDIT: AlbumStuffs.zip has 3 files, the .odex and 2 lib files. Lemme know if that helps out Now I'm interested in if this works.
Thank you!
I'm going to try it now, I'll edit this when I find out what happens.
*edit*
No good. I get Application Not Installed.
I'm currently trying to push to /system/app via ADB, hoping that helps.
Any ideas on what might work if this doesn't?
Thanks!
**edit 2**
ADB install gives me Install Failed Missing Shared Library, I'm guessing there's another file that goes with the HTCAlbum.apk, maybe an odex or whatever?
Would you mind maybe doing a quick search for anything associated with it, and upload if you find it? I'd appreciate it
Thanks again.
i would like the samething. i hate that the 3d gallery lags!!
well, I've tried pushing those files, fresh installs, and a few other unorthodox methods... can't seem to get the 2D gallery working from the HTC based Album. I'm not a dev at all, so I really can't do much else to help out here. Maybe a dev will glance over here while they are bored and looking for a project or something? Good Luck though, hope you are able to get this working.
You can't pull the stock gallery for several reasons. One, it's odexed, and our rom isn't, which might be why you get app not installed. Frameworks aren't compatible. Even if it was deodexed, it wouldn't work, since stock htc apps are tightly tied into com.htc.resources.apk and other htc and tmobile framework apk files which cm roms don't have. It is probably impossible to run htc system apps as standalone apps on other roms. Personally I don't have gallery issues running cm7, but if you do you will have to find a market alternative.
You can also select a tool like astro when attaching images when it asks you what you want to use to select an image, if you are having issues with the stock gallery from google.

After i rooted my desire and flashed many roms i remembered the HTC awesome game (teeter) ...i searched about its apk and got it ..but when it opens it says that it can be only displayed on htc devices ....
Lool ..its desire hhhhhh
So what ?????

haha remember that game for the short time I played it, quite good fun!
However, it is an HTC game, so will likely only work on sense based roms.
Teeter probably checks this on startup, since you're on PA, it doesn't recognise it as HTC firmware.

I was trying to move this game and weather widget to CM 7, but pretty all HTC apps in /system/app consist of 2 files: apk + some library(?).
As far as I remember, copying just the apk caused FC. I haven't succesfully copied this second file, because the system was then extremely unstable and I have given up.
But there are few Teeters on Android Market, none of them so nice, but still
yeah i tried that too
