Strange WiFi issue - Desire General

Hey all.
For about 5 hours I haven't been able to download anything from the market. Occasionally something will download if its a small file size, so that rules out the good apps.
I've tried 2 different nand back ups; pays 2.0 and BluFrost and neither work. Running the latest radio.
Any ideas?

Have you tried a wipe/factory reset and wipe of SD:Ext?

I've got exactly the same issue. Wifi is working for everything else except when I try to download from the market. No 3G where I am so I can't see if market works with it. I'm running NextSense 5.2 and up to now have had no problems.
Update: Just tried Market Doctor option in Titanium Backup and now everything seems to be working again. Suggest trying it to see if it solves your problems.

Turns out, all I needed to do was reset the home hub.
There's me worrying that I broke my phone for nothing

i had that same problem but solved it by uninstalling google maps then installing it from the market
I installed it without any problems. If you have issues installing the 4.4.0 update, first uninstall Google Maps and then install it from the Market application.

Installed just fine for me on my Desire using the update option from the market.

yeah same here no issues but in order for places to showup in programs u need to restart.
I noticed lattitude has also made an appearance on the menu too.
I think they need to update the Places app though. By clicking on "Gas Stations", i am given results for companies that sell bottled gas, not petrol or diesel. By clicking on ATMs, i am given a recovery company 20 miles from me, not cash machines.
I had no problems installing on Froyo/Sense MCR6.
Regards,
Dave
Why I don't see the Places app?
Where to get it?
I updated the Maps to 4. 4. 0...

Turn the phone off and on again then check the menu and "Places" will be listed in with the rest of your apps.

Market 2.3.6 download / install issue

Running CM7 final, but this has happened on other ROMs I've played with over the last week or so. When going to download an app (free or purchased), I have to download it two or three times before it will actually install.
I've cleared Market cache, reinstalled ROMs from scratch, and just something I've noticed with the newest Market update. Just curious if it's me or if anyone else has noticed this.

Running cm7 as well and am having no issues with downloading apps from the market.
Thanks for the response, I am going to blow away the Market and start over. We'll see what happens.

weather not updating

hey guys running stock froyo and my weather not updating for current location every other city i add is fine.
i tried clearing data in setting removing widget and no go, have auto sync as well enabled
when i try to refresh it says download failed?
any ideas?
Maybe this thread can help you:
http://androidforums.com/desire-sup...eather-app-not-updating-current-location.html
nope tried all that , still doesnt work
Can you choose the weather service provider? I use Fancy Widgets and for some reason Google Weather never updates current location. Deleting WeatherBug is fine though.

I think the issue is with HTC. I've recently been getting the same thing, even though previously it would update fine.
I have tried to force stop and clear data but that didn't do much. Seems to be a random issue, it does occasionally update fine.
I got email back from htc, not so much help so i forearded one more explaining issue in depth. Few guys at work with htc phones are having same issues.

Web pages don't load on 4g or wifi

I have an evo that was shipped on 2.3.4 hardware version 004 and on every rom I've tried except the stock one I have a problem where whenever I'm on 4g or wifi web pages only load to 75% then stop and say loading indefinitely, 3g works fine, I have good 4g signal and my wifi works on my laptop just fine, I have had this problem especially bad on cyanogen, currently I'm running fresh 4.2 and the problem occurs intermittently apps that use data however, always work ie Pandora Facebook ect , does anybody know what this is?

Wasn't there some issue with the host file causing issues like this before or am I confusing it with something else?
Do you use adfree?

Did you wipe the cache via Recovery or just using the browser? I imagine they are different. Clear the cache in the browser and clear your downloads and history. Have you tried using a different browser to see if it is specifically the stock browser or something more sinister?
I DO use adfree and I wiped both caches, RA recovery and the browser's. Is adfree the problem?

I would make sure that your host file is up to date and if it's not then do it and check the browser.
If it is, try reverting and see if it corrects the issue.
It is adfree, 4g and wifi work flawlessly now, what a bummer, I guess ill have to deal with advertising.

chrome phone crash? ICS

Has anyone else had serious issues with the new chrome beta? I tried running it on my icecoldsandwich rom and it caused my phone to reboot twice in a row. I know its a beta and will inherently have issues, but I've never seen an app, especially a browser, act this poorly
Sent from my HTC Desire HD using XDA App
I have not had any problem with it on aospX ics rom.
Sent from my Desire HD using XDA App
Neither have I. I even deleted and reinstalled chrome, but no dice. It just freezes, turns back after about 15 seconds and reboots.
The last time it happened it messed with my app drawer. When the phone restarted only one app showed in my drawer, so I had to do another reboot to fix that.

Update* After it being recommended that I clear my caches on my phone, I reinstalled chrome. This time I found that it works with every site I tried except for boingboing.net, which makes the phone reboot every time. Does anyone here have any ideas why this would happen? It's not exactly like Boingboing would be particularly hard to render

I'm running it on Virtuous Quattro RC3 without problem by itself. Tried boing boing and it works.
However, I find that having Chrome beta running cause some other apps to FC. (Can't even launch until I manually kill Chrome)

For me it's working nicely on IceColdSandwich 1.4.0
No problem at all on IceColdSandwich 1.5.0,
even the reported "pink"graphics glitches are (allmost) gone
with the very latest 1.5.test3 by LordClockaN.
Well frankly there are better browsers than chrome out there..
P.S. - no issues for me also on lord's ics latest test build
