Play Store showing only apps?

Hi guys,
I was wondering if your Play Store app shows only apps for you, or do you also see books, music and magazines.
Mines shows only apps, tapping the Play logo doesn't do anything:

When I go into browser on my pc, I see everything there:

Although here in Germany we only see apps and books usually I can approve that I could see both an hour ago and now the books pattern is gone.
Edit: back again

I had to reset to factory the phone, in order to get it working again.

I had the same problem
I had the exact same problem on my HTC One S, which by the way is an amazing phone, but I could solve this without factory reseting it. One of the things I did was deleating the cache of the google play store. If this doesnt work you can deleate all the data of the store without deleating other files on the phone, and I think that should solve the problem.

I haven't experienced that problem on any ROM I've tried. Are you in the US? Or are you using a VPN server or proxy server in another country?

It's not a bug, it's a feature. I wish it would show only apps to me. It is very annoying to see books and songs in search results for "angry birds" or whatever.

Desktop Mode Broswer

Anybody having trouble with getting there browsers to act in a true Desktop Browser mode? I have Dolphin set to Desktop Mode, but when I try to launch a lot of sites or use Chrome to Phone they show up in mobile (m.www.). I was curious if anybody else is having this issue, because back on my OG EVO, I did not encounter this. I find myself HAVING to use Chrome browser and then hitting menu, request desktop website, in order to launch the page, if applicable.
Additionally, if anybody is rooted and running any ROMs where this is not the case please include this in your response as I am going to root and ROM eventually. This is just odd as I switch to the newest and greatest phone, but some primitive stuff doesn't work as well as "archaic tech"... archaic is a joke, I still love the EVO!

Using the desktop setting in Dolphin works for me. Went to Facebook desktop site and my local news, both came up as the desktop sites.
I am rooted and running blazer 1.7. But I wouldn't think that'd make a difference.

Try sending engadget.com on your pc via Chrome to Phone and see if the mobile site pops up in Dolphin please. I can load full desktop sites from my phone sometimes. I go to a website called entensity.net and on the Evo it would load right to the site, but on a mobile phone it loads to a porn site for advertisement and I can't get around that unless I use chrome and then hit settings and tell it to load desktop site. On the Evo Dolphin would skip right past the advertisement site as though it was a desktop. I don't think rooting should affect it either, but I just don't know.

[Q] TBS, Cartoon Network and Adult Swim

Has anyone been able to get TBS, Cartoon network, or Adult Swim videos to work? I have uverse and can watch all of them on my PC but when I try to get them to work on my Note II it tells me "This content is not available on your device". It lets me log in, it looks like it authorizes, looks like its loading then BAM error! I would love to get them working. If anyone knows how to get it to work or can create the apps and force them to work?

Need to install flash player or reinstall new version of flash player.

No still doesnt work. i updated flash to make sure it was up to date. But I still get the same error. It is only when trying to watch an episode you have to login for. The others seem to work fine.

Screenshot the error? I remember netflix had an issue with cmw due to DRM might be similar with something to do with that if you are rooted or have a custom rom

I get the same error in all three. I have even tried un rooting my phone. .. still won't work

Is that in a browser or an app? If its a browser which one are you using?

its in the app. I get the same error in tbs, adult swim and cartoon networks apps. I can get to it work through the puffin browser but that doesnt work all that great.

Just got an update for cartoon network 25 mins ago and now it works. Tbs and adult swim still don't work. Hopefully they will be updated soon too.

Downloading 6 female voices

This download started and seems to take forever i cancelled it a few times with the download manager but it always reappears.
I suspect its googles voice to text has anyone else had this ?

It's not Google it's LGs Voice Mate. Yeah it's pretty annoying. Had this problem this morning too but it only started to download when I connected to wifi.

You can't it starts on its own. It's really, really annoying. I tried disabling this but can't. I guess we'll have to root the thing before we can finally get rid of this "feature"

I got it to stop downloading by disabling download manager.
But you need to enable it again if you want to download apps from the play store.

Nobody else had this problem?

I had same problem
I fixed it this way: Settings -> applications -> all -> Download manager -> remove data and clean cache.
After while downloads success

I had the same problem, it will only download over WiFi, until then you have this notification.
Clearing Download Manager data and cache or killing the process is only a temporary solution.

Same problem...But,it will download eventually! No worries... Just take it easy,sit back,watch some movie and by the time you think it is not done it will be over

Will this link allow us to install manually or do we still need to use Odin also if I decide to go the VPN route what do I need to do after installing that app

Installing the VPN worked perfectly nothing else to do after but you can also use the link to download and flash with Odin

dumb question: how can a vpn software trigger an update?

The update server sees that you are connected from a different IP in another country would be my guess.
FYI, I tried this as I use OpenVPN and added a PIA Frankfurt Germany endpoint and it didn't work. Verified I was coming from Germany as well.
Doesn't matter, got the files via Frija, getting ready to flash as soon as I can find a working Type A to C USB cable! ;-)
