Hi,I just discovered that when I go to Settings>Applications>Manage Applications and then selecting "All" option,,the inbuilt android/HTC Sense apps tend to display 0.00B as size for each of these apps. For example, "Accounts&sync","Adobe Flash Player","Android Live Wallpapers","Android System","App sharing" and many more like that. Is there something i can do to rectify this so as to display the correct memory size alloocated to these apps? There are no problems with apps downloaded from market or installed manually, sizes are displayed correctly.Though I remember downloading "Dolphin Browser HD" and then moving it to SDCard beacuse the option to do so was given under Applications, though i've uninstalled it.Does this have anything to do with the current issue?I haven't done the adb shell thing that allow apps to be moved to SDCards.

I've got an unbranded, unrooted device with the official 2.2 OTA update on it.
anyone please?

I have installed my Desire a few times, because there are so many nice roms to try.
On the last reinstall I found a folder "app" on the App2sd partition with all the .apk files. After the rom upgrade I copied this folder "app" from the pc (ubuntu) back to the normal partition on the sd card. I thought that this was a easy way to reinstall all my applications in a few seconds.
Now the apps works. but when I go to the market with the tab downloads they are not mentioned. Also update notifications of these apps will not work. Is there a way to register my apps in the market/update software ?
Titanium backup has "market doctor" add-on which should update market links. Unfortunately AFAIR this option is only available in "donated" version.
Download AppBrain from the market and when installed select "Manage my Apps" then select "Sync with AppBrain" then if there are any updates select "Perform Install".
The program itself acts as an alternative to the market.
Thanks for the answers. This will help.

Thanks.
Is AppBrain (or any other tool) capable to relink apps to their Android Market source ?
excellent post!
I was wondering why some apps were not showing updates when there were. Angry Bird being an example. Also installed AppBrain the other day and was curious what the Sync options was showing.
Makes sense now ta

I use this too for a couple of random apps - but I also found if you re-download angry birds (it is available now) from the market place it will keep itself updated then
Of course, if you download from market ANY app, it will keep itself updated then...
What about if you install them from sd, as this topic refers to ?
I'm dealing with 200+ apks ...
Thnx

If this is such a problem that you need to ask then you must have a pretty happy life!
I understand that even though these are apps, they are not using the storage memory, they are built in and part if the Rom memory
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App

Whilst I agree that it doesn't matter, I *do* get the app sizes for all my apps, regardless of which partition they are installed on.

Hi,i have this app "mini info" from market installed on my unrooted, unbranded Desire. It displays battery status, internal memory size,SD card size as well as provide easy access to the "manage application" section.I just wanna find out if anyone has this app installed on their device and then had uninstall it, due to it having an adverse effect on the device e.g. device getting slower, browser not functioning okresulting to flash web pages not running properly e.t.c
Cheers
Ok I'm sure most Slide owners have run into problems with space on the phone, luckily for most apps you can move them and run from the SD card (w/ 2.2).
However with other apps that i have paid for - "documents to go" and and a few others labeled as "copy protected", even as root, I cant seem to find a way to move the apps to SD and run them from the external storage. I have no interest in pirating apps... but the ones i have paid for i think i should be able to run them from wherever... and my slide is seriously running out of space... as once you get the dreaded "low space warning" certain google and other apps fail to work / sync properly...
Does anyone have any ideas suggestions to circumvent and RUN the "copy protected" apps from the SDcard (I dont care about backing up apps... just want to run the apps i paid for from the SD card)
Also I have noticed that some google apps that can be downloaded from the market (maps, etc) also cannot be moved to SD... Additionally i have found that when there is a new version of an app available the new app sometimes does not ' get rid of ' or ' replace ' the old app so even small apps can take up a lot of space unless apps are periodically un-installed and then reinstalled.. for instance last time i checked "opera MINI" app was taking up 10MB, (with cache cleaned etc...) but after uninstall and re-install of "Opera Mini" now its like 1.1MB...
But it would really help to figure out how to move & run my paid apps from the SD card...

Look for Dark Tremors Apps2SD in the development section. This will create a partition on your SD card that will allow apps be be moved. Unlike the default Apps2SD in CM, this should allow those specific apps to be moved.
is there any new updates on how to do this i tried installing dark tremors - but could not get it to work.... has there been any progress in this area? Is there some special way to install/use dtapps2sd-2.7.5.3-beta04-signed.zip?
HEY dud have you ever tried data2ext, it partitions a space in your memory card to not only install apps2sd, but that extra data that is eating up your phone space. I do not know if this will fix your copy protected issue, but before my phone only had 150mb space MAX! (on CM7 by the way, wtf!?!?) after i did the data 2 ext, my phone has over 472mb of free space and i have well over 50-100 apps installed and it takes no more than 70mb! (and i dont even have all of my apps on sd yet, it is about 5 or 6 apps with well over 10mb-20mb still on the phone memory. search these forums and i promise you it is on here!!!
if this helps, would u mind hittin the thanks button
Hi there,
Recently I saw that I cannot uninstall apps from the Google Play store. Usually when viewing an app that is installed on my device, there are options for "open" or "uninstall".
The "uninstall" option is not present right now. I noticed this only a day ago (relative to the post date of this post)
The only major changes I know I have made to my device are that I moved a few apps to the "2nd partition" of the SD card via Link2SD, and I put a large amount of videos on the main partition of my SD card (though I don't know why this would affect Google Play not being able to uninstall stuff)
I have a rooted Tab S running stock (no custom ROMs), and I am running Lollipop and have disabled OTA updates
Any ideas?
I am in the same boat RE missing the uninstall option in Google Play Store. I even did a clean re-install of the ROM (IronRom 2.5) I'm using, with no success.
Hopefully the option reappears again soon. It's a pain to have to uninstall via settings.
EDIT: Also having the same issue on my old Motorola Xoom tablet that my daughter is now using - running OmniRom 4.4.4.
Have you done anything like moving apps using Link2SD or anything?
I think this could be a cause for this problem...
I recently uninstalled Link2SD from my device and since then the Uninstall option has come back in Google Play
