Radio version - myTouch 3G Slide Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

feel like a noob here. I rooted my phone put on the eng build and CR_Mod_1.35.531_OTA Full ROM with the add on zip by searching. I can't figure out what Radio version I have or how to find it. Can anyone give me a little help? It seems after I put all this on I have a weaker signal?

Fastest way is hold volume down while booting your phone, you'll see RADIO- and the version number.

go to "Settings" then 'About Phone" it is listed under "Baseband version"... Radio is the last 7 numbers

Thank you I do have the latest radio 7.09.35.10 just weird that I have less of a signal.

Updating Cricket Radio

Does updating your radio and/or kernel on your evo when it is flashed to cricket ruin your flash? Because I am looking to upgrade my radio because I get the error on youtube that won't allow me to play videos over 3G.

no it does not, just dont dial *228 and you will be fine !!
and dont flash the same radio numbers two times in a row or it will
brick your radio so check your radio numbers in h-boot and flash a different
one.
hope this helps!
So I can flash the latest sprint radio and kernel and be fine? Can you link me to where i can get both of those? And can you show me how to figure out the radio numbers so I don't brick my phone?

[Q] How do I find my stock ROM version number?

Hello.
I want to know my ROM version to root it. All the guides says
Code:
---- If you have a bootloader version 0.75.xxxx or below AND a current ROM of 1.15.xxx.x or below
---- If you have a bootloader version 0.80.xxxx or below AND a current ROM of 1.21.xxx.x or below
But how do I know what it is?
Im looking in "About phone" and "Software information" and the only thing it says is "Software number" but that one is 2.29.405.5, that cannot be it?
turn off your device, then press volume down button with powerbutton. hold them for 5 seconds and you will enter bootloader. there you can see your HBOOT and radio version

don't follow those prehistoric rooting guides. Or, if you do, you are very likely to cause an lcd-brick as you clearly didn't do enough reading before getting started. in short: if you downgrade your phone to a Software-version 1.xx and your phone has an slcd-screen (which is very likely), your screen will go black. Of course it can be fixed but it'll give you some unnecessary grey hair.
Run unrevoked or revolutionary and you're done.
Your softwarenumber is correct. And its a very smart thing to write that down and keep it safe, so you know which RUU to run when you need to.

MeanROM 3.4/5

I'm currently on MeanROM 3.4. Unfortunately I'm s-off 1.15, which means I can't just flash it.
Someone recommended I go back to stock and get the firmware updates, then back to 3.4 and then up to 3.5. Can I do this just by running the most recent RUU?
If I'm understanding correctly if I relock my bootloader I can run one of those, right? The question is if I can, how do I know which one to run because from the videos I saw it says to check my settings --> About --> Software version to see which one matches but right now my Software version says "MeanROM 3.4"
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Radio Update
As an update, I found my radio version by going into the boot loader, which I'm almost certain tells me which radio version I should use. So I guess my only question now is whether this is a workable solution.

This statement means nothing. If you aren't specific about what you have tried, its difficult to help.
Plus, at a minimum, you should post your hboot number, radio baseband, and main version (OS number on hboot screen).

Under network operators in setting. i get 'Error while searching for networks'.
Hope this should help to some extent.
Its not clear the exact sequence of events that led to this issue. due to the lack of detail in your description of the issue.
Was the phone working fine on the network before, on a Sense ROM?
Did the issue arise immediately after flashing CM12.1? Or was it working okay on CM12.1 for a while?
Did you try flashing a different nightly? This is a common practice if you run into bugs on any CM nightly. Nightlies by definition are "cutting edge" stuff and prone to bugs.
