Hi, I used the search function, but I suck sometimes with it so I hope this has not been covered. I will explain this the best I can, let's say you're using your browser, (Default, DolphinHD, Skyfire) any of them, and you want to stream a movie, whether it be a 5 minute movie, or a 2 hour movie. You load the web page the movie is on, and it starts playing because Flash 10 is awesome, and having it on your phone is even more awesome. But then someone texts you in the middle of a 2 hour movie, and you respond to them. If you go back to your movie, it will continue to play for whatever part was already loaded in the ram, and then stop. It's like the phone (I say phone, because every single browser does this) does not know to keep streaming once you return to the web page. You could zoom in, fiddle around with the stream (Which is hard enough) and try to find the exact position you were at before, but that seems like a lot of work because I hope somebody sympathizes with me that controlling a scroll bar in a flash movie is almost impossible. I have tried making my own HTML website, where there is a frame in the middle, which means obviously it's two different web pages in one. If I start to play a movie on the left frame, and then move to the right frame and load a page, again, the movie will stop. Any disruption, will stop the movie from streaming. If this seems long and drawn out, I apologize, I just tried to make it clear. Does anyone have a way to rig around this, or solution in general?
Just disable the text messaging popup and you'll be fine.

Although no 2 hour movies, I just tap to pause. It just picks up where I left off.

I have the tmobile TP2 for two days and I have two major issues.
1. I can't scroll smoothly for the life of me. Flicking in the all people menu goes way far and slow scrolling seems impossible without turning into a tap. Same thing in the slide bar and pretty much any situation that involves gestures. The touch screen response seems exagerated/extremely sensitive for most of the time and other times lags or requires several taps. I calibrated the screen but don't see much improvement. Does anybody else have the same problem / is it the hardware or just a matter of learning curve on a very "touchy" screen?
Is there a way to adjust the scrolling speed and the screen sensitivity?
2. going online is extremely frustrating. most links in webpages don't work in either IE or Opera, not to mention excruciatingly slow load (I bounce between edge & 3g) and several attempts to open a website (screen turns white and freezes)
Is there a way to obtain a half decent web browsing experience without being tech savvy?
I really want to like this phone but it's becoming too frustrating/time consuming to accomplish some of these presumably simple tasks like the ones mentioned above.
thanks in advance for your response
1. You're probably just used to using a capacitive touch screen like on the iPhone. When flick-scrolling on a resistive screen, you have to apply pressure. Don't apply so much that you are pushing down on the screen, but you shouldn't be brushing the screen with your fingers. That is probably what's causing the accidental taps you experience.
2. Don't know about anyone else, but here are my own tips to make my browsing experience extremely satisfying.
-disable java script and plugins. Most sites don't need them to work and this makes your pages load faster. Only turn them on when you absolutely need them.
-use your fingernails to hit links. Hit them once firmly and trust that the browser picked it up (it often does). Zoom in to small links to hit those.
-don't use IE
What sites don't work for you?
thanks for the reply. Example of site that doesn't work: realtor.com I cannot enter search data at all (i.e. zip code).
I tried your suggestion about scrolling but I am not able to scroll slow (i.e from one contact to the next or second next). someone who owns a tilt mentioned that there is a way to tweak the scrolling/screen sensitivity. Do you know how?
Thanks again

Song list
I'm having a similar problem: I like to listen to Arionradio.com, but I cannot get the browser to show what song is being play either on the main site or when I use the Arion Radio Player; I can hear the song fine but does not list whats playing. Is there a way to fix this?
Thank you for taking the time to reply!
Have you tried the SkyFire browser yet. it is a Full java enabled browser. I just went to realtor.com and did a search for my zip code. It worked and looks just like it does on the computer.
I had a specific question regarding HTC Audiomanager (and the tab) in this version of TF3D.
In the older att tilt and older versions of Manila and HTC Home, if you were playing a song, but then hit the library button to go back and pick a song, it would remember where you left off on your list. Or the song that was playing currently. For example. If you had songs listed from #A,B,C to Z...if you were listening to Womanizer by Britney Spears, if you hit the library button it would show that song first rather than say some sony that started w/ a # or A (basically the beginning of the library).
But when i moved from the Tilt to the Fuze i noticed that anytime you hit the Library button the player always reverts to the beginning of the list.
My first question is on the Tilt2 and TouchPro2 when you hit the library button does it revert to where you left off, or does it automatically got back to the beginning like on the tilt.
Secondly, for those that have a good amount of songs, is there anyway to quickly scroll through a list of songs. Say if you have 400+ and you're browsing the music by song name, if you want to get to 'Sharp Dressed Man' at the bottom of the list, do you just have to spend forever flicking the screen...or is there some type of scroll bar like there was in older versions where you can just drag it down.
thanx in advance...
I picked up my Tilt 2 yesterday. Let me load some songs when I get home from work and I will get back to you.
sweet thanks so much man, id reaaaaally appreciate it. its honestly one of the few things i hate about my fuze...and im really hoping the same wont be true with the tilt 2
Unfortuately it always reverts back to the beginning of the library and you have to flick ad nausem to get back to the bottom letters. I have over 2000 songs on my SD card and it's not fun.
HTC desperately needs to add an alpha quick jump menu along the side so one can jump directly to "T" for example.
S
for a company that is so big, and especially one thats really starting to make some savvy media centric devices...this is one of the biggest ball drops i've seen in a long time. its plain stupid if you ask me. I wonder if a 'resume on current artist' as far as flicking through the library could be something fixed w/ a registry edit.
My audio manager seems defective or something. Songs play for 10 secs then stop. I don't know if the problem is hardware or what but it happend with stock rom and flashed rom.
oh yeah....another question guys, to those that have the TP2/tilt 2
when switching between tabs, especially when the device is coming out of standby, if you switch from say the home tab to the music tab, on my fuze it takes honestly a good 20 seconds for the actual sony information/music tab to actually open up while i'm playing the music.
For example, days that i'm not using my BT headphones and i'm actually using some corded ones, if i want to switch tracks, i unlock my device and go from the home tab to music, but just to switch tracks it takes a good 20 seconds because the player just sits at a blank screen. Does the audiomanager in the current Rhodium build do this same thing?
This along w/ the starting at the top of the list, and lack of a good scrolling solution are my 3 biggest peeves about audiomanager. I swear, i can't think of any company who's updated their software (for any product for that matter) and actually made it worse and less functional than a version they had 2+ years ago....rant over
So I am going to try to avoid talking at length about things already mentioned in press reviews unless its super relevant, I really just want to focus on my experience using the Mango beta.
Good things.
It’s freaking fast. Generally moving around the OS is noticeably quicker, not only due the actual speed of transitions, but also I think things have been rearranged so you are able to do what you need to more efficiently. Things are just organized better, e.g. search in the apps list.
Visual voicemail is simple and works (after a quick call to my carrier to turn it on from their end.) It looks like the screen where you choose ringtones with the play button on the left.
The improvements to the People hub are awesome. Groups works great, although I’d like to be able to have more than 20 people per group, and I’d like to be able to rearrange the order they are in. But otherwise, it’s really great. A contacts tile now shows when you have a new message/voicemail/email from them.
The improvements to messaging are also great. Messages you send are now a shade darker or lighter than messages from someone. After attempting to enable Facebook chat a dozen times it finally worked (something I’m assuming will be fixed by release) and chatting works well, switching chat mediums on the fly works better in actual practice than watching someone else do it. Since I don’t really have Windows Live contacts I’m not sure if that part of chat is working.
My one critique is that (like the people hub) I don’t understand why they don’t open the messaging hub to more 3rd party applications. If something like IM+ can connect to all these different chat services, why not allow the OS to? Also, why can’t we still send video?
E-mail works exactly as promised. Linked inboxes and threaded conversations.
Generally the UI has been made more consistent. Marketplace searches now yield a pivot menu to switch between music and apps and podcasts. The phone buttons are larger and more metro-y. The music controls are always in the same place whether in the music player, lock screen, or volume drop down (which itself now has been updated, shows volume as 20/30 instead of little bars.) You can have artist art fade in on the lock screen while listening to music which is pretty cool too.
Bad things/things needing improvement.
When you press the search button, now it ALWAYS brings up Bing and there’s a delay. This is how it should have been from day one, but since it isn’t, I’m still getting used to the fact that I can’t use it to search marketplace or email or any other place where previously the search button took you to an in app search. Also, whenever you do press the search hard button the phone temporarily freezes for a millisecond and music playing skips. Weird but noticeable if you listen to music a lot – but almost certainly a beta issue.
Multi-tasking. It isn’t multitasking. It’s the same as Windows Phone has always been since day one – you can back through previously opened apps. The difference is now you can see more than one at a time. This wouldn’t be so bad if they fixed the transitions, but as of now, it’s honestly pretty bad. You hold back (for a very short amount of time, I did it by accident a lot) and it zooms out (even if nothing else is in the “list” so to speak, I would prefer it does nothing and stays on start screen in this scenario) and you see the “open” (or “dehydrated”) apps, and can pan over to them to click into them. But once you do, they almost 100% of the time go to a different screen than the one you saw in the preview, and after loading look more like the preview. If the preview image matched what you saw when you clicked into the app, this would be an almost flawless illusion of multitasking, but as of now it’s just kind of messy.
Even with the start screen- animated live tiles are not in the same position in the preview as when you click the app, so it becomes visibly obvious that you aren’t actually seeing a live preview. I am really hoping that this is a beta issue, because the idea is good, just the execution is messy. In regard to background apps or audio, I haven’t been able to test this as I can’t find any apps that support it yet.
Internet Explorer 9 Mobile. This has probably been my biggest disappointment. While it most certainly is faster/better than IE now on Windows Phone, the HTML 5 execution doesn’t seem anywhere near as impressive as Microsoft makes it seem. If you go to the MS HTML 5 mobile demos (like the fish and speed reader) they work great… but go to an HTML 5 site, and it barely works, or works really really slowly (like Flash on Android.) Even simple things, like Dragon Age Legends HTML5 mobile version, don’t work at all in some cases. If HTML5 is the industry answer to “why no Flash?” it needs to work better. Every single HTML 5 site I went to either didn’t work, or worked poorly. Not acceptable. Again, I’m hoping this is a beta issue only, and that it’s resolved by release.
Bing navigation. It’s serviceable but just barely. The fact that the map updates, but not the directions, is bizarre. So if you are driving to a destination, the map rotates and moves along with you, but to actually hear what you need to do next, you need to tap the direction. Again, hoping this is a very early version.
Connection to hidden Wifi doesn’t seem to be possible even though the WP devs said it was. And I guess you can use custom ringtones but through a workaround using the Zune software. Also, Wifi sync doesn’t work
So, generally, the Mango beta shows some promise, but still needs a lot of work. I’ll be using it on my main phone for at least a few weeks, then I’ll decide if I want to go back for the time being. For the record, I have an App Hub account and am running Mango legitimately on a developer unlocked T-Mobile USA HD7 which I hard reset after the update. I’ve had a few apps that won’t start, or crash a lot since updating.
At the bottom right of most pages there is a interactive flash ad for CLEARASIL which is not visible unless you scroll down to the bottom of the page, and yet has loud and annoying audio. for me it loaded on pretty much every page I loaded for a few minutes, even playing at the same time in different tabs. Seems like its the wrong sort of ad for a site like this, its extremely intrusive and distracting.

I believe it should be removed... If that's not the case, let us know.
I just had one a second ago... when your not expecting sound then all of a sudden it starts going, next thing you know the house wakes up and wife comes downstairs and boots me off of XDA. It's in all of our best interests to stay as covert as possible. Please make the video ads go away or make them silent.

So Ive had this HTC One X for like a week now (btw is it common that the back is already scratched when you unpack it?)
And it has some issues, overall its a good phone but... yeah:
1 - Im having some issues when sometimes entering Music and wish to play a song, the entire phone stops responding basicly, unless you keep pressing the "back" "home" "recent apps" buttons at the bottom fo the phone, sometimes you get into one of those, and can shut off the app Music, however if you go back into Music, itll show ups as a black screen with an odd bar at the bottom which you cant interact with.
The only solution to this is to turn off the phone and turn it back on, and then Music works again.
The very same thing occurs with the internal movie player or in my case MX Player, at random itll stop working, thus a reboot is in order.
And yes shutting off all apps using the app manager or whatever doesnt really fix anything.
Is the SD card so highly fragmented or something that the phone is having trouble finding the files or something? Or is the SD card not suitable for any larger files? What is the speeds on the SD card?
2 - The internet browser, why does it constantly readjust? When I zoom in I want to zoom in and have no stupid readjusting occuring where the font changes and what youre looking at having blank white squares that reload. I had none of these issues with my SGS (i9000GT)
I downloaded the Chrome Browser and it has the same issues, is there no way to fix all this? I dont want it to reload the pages like it does, or atleast not the font OR moving the "view" back to the left side of the browser (if zoomed in)
Heres an example: /watch?v=SEFWshNQ3ac
Oh yeah it also has to reload the tabs, didnt have to on my previous phone.
3 - Battery Life, I was playing some Zelda (starting fully recharged) using a GBA emulator found in the market, 1 hour later Im at 11% battery life!
Same thing goes for when I watch a video, if I were to put a movie on the phone (in a smaller res than 720p!) I could watch for maybe 40min to an hour and the battery life has dropped substantially, like 20-30% left. This is horrible.
One day, I woke up, plugged the phone out of the recharger, fully charged, went out to town, like 8 hours later battery is at 50% with minimal to no activity.
In comparison I could play a bunch of games, watch videos and what not on my SGS and still have way more battery life after even longer sessions. I could finish "Yes Man" in 720p with ease and still have more than enough juice to run another session of "Yes Man"
How do you get this "Battery Fix" which Ive read about on the HTC Blog? There seems to be no info about it.
There shouldn’t be any scratches on the phone if its new, are you sure its brand new and not a used/refurbished one ? If it is used or refurbished then the previous owner may have installed an unstable custom ROM. Can you see an app names Super SU or SU or Super User in the app drawer ? Also What do you see under Settings > About > Software Information ?
As for the first problem , maybe the HOX you received is defected . Just maybe .
Second problem , you can go to the settings to change it ... >.>
Third problem , here try this link out [How to] Brilliant Battery Life 100% working! This might most probably help you out .
I think you just have a bad device. That isn't how my HOX behaves and if I was you I'd take the phone to either be repaired or replaced.

2. Which one?

Yes it had scratches on the back, the lower back.
Anyway battery is just ****ing **** on this phone, the phone gets REALLY warm around the camera aswell when you for instance watch a video or play a GBA game.
dude you got ripped off sorry

Some battery benchmark charts can be found here:
http://www.anandtech.com/show/6022/samsung-galaxy-s-iii-review-att-and-tmobile-usa-variants/3
--------
On auto brightness (default)
I can stream 720p video over WiFi for 5+ hours
I can stream 320kbps audio over Data for 9+ hours
I can sleep for 6hrs with WiFi on, and it remains at 100% upon waking
I can play the latest high-end 3d games for 2 1/2 hours
So, if you ain't getting similar results - either something is draining it, or you have a seriously damaged phone. (I guess the first)
