I like the new boot animation for CM6 and even the original boot anim for CM6. But I found this one on youtube and I really like it.

Anyone know the name of this boot animation and where to find it? Also I'm not sure if it's an official Cyan animation or custom.

try the sticky in themes and apps. The one titled "[Collection] Custom Boot Animations and Splash Screens" or the cm6 thread
You'll have to search for the title yourself though...
thanks, I skimmed through that thread but I must not have looked hard enough.

too quick for me was about to edit my post. Don't know if that specific one is listed there - but I'm pretty sure I saw a similar one. I also think I saw it in the cm6 thread at one point.

I'm not sure, which is why I said he'd have to search for himself. I think it's just called the CM6 custom boot animation. I mean, jeez - I don't know everything, I was even posting a follow up to him at the same time you were posting...
edit- and btw, nice on getting BS loaded (I see from your sig), I think I recommended that to you a while back
I found this,
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=729236
Appears to be the same one from the video. (There's a CM6 version)
They don't seem to be flashable zips, and I'd rather not do the adb shell crap.

Does anyone know where or if there is a list of Flashable splash screens. I've been searching and so far the only one I found is the white on black from calkulins Rom post. Thanks calkulin by the way.

You're kidding, right? There's a thread actually stickied to the top of the themes and apps section listing and linking to a ton of them. The name of the thread is "custom boot animations and splash screens" for pete's sake.
They're not Flashable so don't be a sharass. Boot screen yes splash no.

Hey, I'm no sharass! But it does look like only the animations are flashable zips. Still, I think you might have more luck posting in that thread than here.

Do you remmember lockscreen animation in XP 2.3.3? Very nice and looking like a TV shuting down.
So, in 2.3.4 we now get a very simple lockscreen animation... Is it possible to install the old one from 2.3.3 in this?
Thanks in advance for your help
Did you... try backing up the 2.3.3 one with Titanium Backup, then restoring it after upgrading?

What to backup? Isn't the screen-off animation hidden deep withing the system somehow? I wouldn't have any idea how to transfer it to another version unfortunately.
Personally I like the one in 2.3.4 better. It has a nice smooth touch to it. I've grown so so tired of the CRT animation and everyone has it as it's standard feature in android 2.3 as far as I know.

It's plainly listed in Titanium Backup as "com.sonyericsson.shutdownanim"...
EDIT: Or maybe not, freezing it did nothing, the animation still shows... so what the heck is that app for lol

Hi,
Does the stock rooted ROM support custom boot animation. If not, is there a list of ROM/Kernels that support custom boot animations from Romtoolbox, etc.

so, let me get this straight, you want a list of ALL roms and kernels that support custom boot animation, and seeing as there isn't one, expect people to make you one because your to lazy to go back to dev section and read the posts and find out for yourself?..
If the kernel supports bootanimations it will say in the forum thread...
And think, stock is in NO way custom, if your installing a "custom" bootanim, you seriously think the two go together?
Common man the phrase is called common sense..

I think, i did made it clear enough. I'm on rooted stock. As per one of the threads, i was able to change the boot animation to the International S2. That made me think that we can change to a custom one as well. If we cannot, the answer would have been a simple 'No' , there was no need to spend your time on writing a comment this long. Or maybe you have enough time and want to waste it. Anyways, i would request Admin to close this thread as it is of no use. Thanks anyway.

Depending on what kernel you have you can use a custom boot animation. There is a way to get lots of free boot animations you just have to pay for the app. Download from toolbox from Google play (market) then go to where it says customization. Then go to boot animations and pick which one you want. Then click on it and install it. You should be good to go. Lemme know if this is what you wanted.

Thanks for this info. That was helpful. Another quick question, I'm running stock ROM + Kernel and i'm rooted. Will it support these custom animations. If not, i'll look for another kernel then. Thanks.
So i am sitting here at 11:29pm and i was really bored. so i decided to make boot animation. i would like to test it out but the problem is that i dont use any ASOP or CM ROM. touchwiz is more complicated to make boot animations.. ill upload it here and i hope someone will test it out. Please be nice, as this is the VERY FIRST project i have started. It is the umbrella corporation logo i found online. I claim no ownership.
i got this too...Boot Animation folder

Unfortunatly not, as i do not know how to make a flashable zip. Just place into system/media. fix permissions if necessary, then reboot. Hope it works.

As i understand, TW utilizes a different type of framework to initialize the boot animation, so in essence, NOT for TouchWiz.
