I was in the group of hopefuls that unrooted and went back to stock this afternoon waiting for that OTA to hit.
Anyways, Im back rooted now with 2.15 baseband and running Skyraider 2.5.2 Vanilla. Everything has been running smoothly as it was before I unrooted and all today and no I didnt do anything wrong and all other programs are running fine.
When I launch a browser, be it the stock browser or Dolphin, it loads my google homepage without issue, but when I attempt to go to a different page, say, androidforums.com, the browser suddenly closes.
I did just run 'fix permissions' in ROM manager, but I haven't really used the internet since before now after the initial install of SR today. So I don't know if it's linked to that, or if it was like this right after the install.
Has anyone else seen/heard of this issue?
I did try searching with various keywords, but got no hits, and it's ridiculous to wait 30 seconds in between searches. I got things to do, xda.
Ok I did a nandroid restore to revert the fixed permissions and I still have the same problem. Never had this before, ever.
Guess I'll try a wipe.
EDIT UPDATE:
I believe it was directly related with viewing webpages that used Adobe Flash. I did a full wipe and re-installed SR 2.5.2 and its working okay now. I sent the link via Chrome to phone and as it was loading, the page actually blinked right where it was shutting down before, but it was just a blink, and continued to load.
Maybe this thread will help someone else//

I had the same problems.i tried a few things to fix it but nothing worked.i had to go back to sr 2.5.2.whats wierd is when i went back to sr i applied a similar overclocked kernel as in cyanogen rc3 and the internet starting cutting out as it was in cyanogen.the internet was the only issue i had.other than that my phone was near perfect.

Same here. I use sr 2.5.2 and when I use the under volted kernels my browser always fc's. All the over volted ones work great.

i have the same problem running skyraider 2.5.2 but a friend of mine still running stock has the same issue
Like matt said, probably an issue with the oc kernels. I definitely had one installed. I reinstalled skyraider after a wipe and left the kernel stock and no problems now.

yes i did that one. im on the kernal is came with cause idk which kernal i should use.
There are two usual culprits:
1.You need to set wifi sleep policy to NEVER (as sultan of swing mentioned), or
2. incomplete wipe. You need to fully wipe data,.cache, dalvik cache before installing MIUI, especially coming from a Sense rom. Search this forum for the format-all.zip file. Flash it in recovery for the full wipe. Then flash rom.

But if I were expecting an important call, I'd switch to a rom I could trust - probably a sense rom like Fresh or MikWhatever. And I say this as MIUI fan woman
im liking the rom so far. sad part is im a sense fan. this isn't what i wanted, but after playing around with this rom for 2 hours i liked it a lot and the stuff u can do.
i already can tell this is faster than a sense rom. 1 of the games i played on the sense roms lagged a little. but i dont get as much lag in the MIUI rom.

I was so frustrated with MUIU until I changed kernals. Now it's great.
I am running Savage 1.6 CFS-HAVS-WIMAX-SBC.
I have not had any reboots and when I pulled off the charger today I stayed at 100% for over 2 hrs.
Having issues finding a kernal now for some reason.

I find Savage 1.6 works best for me but every Evo is different. Other people swear by Zen-Droid which only bootloops my phone. bcnice-stable (v7 or v8) is another popular kernel (laggy for me). The safest (?) one seems to be cm6-Snap 7.6 (don't use SnapTurbo) - everything seems to work this snap.
ok thank you bigmoogle. is this the one you were talking about http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=883455&highlight=Savage

Yep, that's the kernel. As to which to use, I am definitely NOT the person to ask. In the beginning, kernels were pretty.simple but as time went by, they've collected more and more acronyms. I use Savage 1.6 CFS HAVS. I think it has SBC because the other one is named noSBC.
All politics aside, this seems like a great ROM.
Worth a look/see in my opinion.
Links removed.....Bonsai!
Seems slower to me than ACS Frozen even with the Kernel but its a nice ROM yea but IMO ACS is better also looks like some good kernels are about to come out ^_^
I don't like it but that's my opinion. Acs is alit better than that rom. I also have seen the arguments with the.developer and I don't know anything other that what I read but for him to be banned tells me something. I don't blame konane to be upset and he handled it very professionally. Stand up Guy.

fyi the kernel is compatible with syndicate rom if you want that extra 80 Mhz.

I flashed the kernel and got the 1280, but in the About Phone it comes up as the same kernel I had previously. Is that normal?
Cool I actualy didnt know that. Maybe I'll use the kernel with Syndicate bc overall that rom is great, I just need something that helps out with battery life more.
is anyone having issues with the 1280 overclock on Baked? i'm thinking maybe my phone can't handle it 'cuz it seems to completely freeze with that setting.

apparently he used the genocide kernel as a base.. when he was releasing roms on the regular he always would forget the small stuff like that. and another instance he used the same install script so thats why you get the team viper logo when you install the kernel.
I'm running syndicate rom and cannot get the bakedsnack Kernel to work for 1280. setcpu says "cannot autodetect frequencies. this may be an issue with root access". I have tried flashing a few times and same result. any suggestions?

I haven't had the time to do the re-root yet however, I can still install the baked snack rom and the kernel will work to get me 1280. I can also re-install syndicate without a re-root. but syndicate still wont work with BS kernel.. so my root seems to still be ok..? Either way i will try and re-root with CWM 3 when i get home, try again and share my results.
as far as the Baked Snack Rom goes though It seems to been a tiny bit laggy when i compare to a few other roms out right now. Even with the 1280 overclock. The quadrant scores and smartbench scores are pretty low, however my Linpack was 17.2 mflops which is the best i have gotten. If i can just get this BS kernel to work on the syndicate rom!

Yeah, I was gonna say that maybe root is partially broken, lol.... at least when it comes to apps being granted superuser permission. When I flashed the Baked kernel over Syndicate, I couldn't do anything that required root access(including using setcpu to overclock), but re-rooting fixed that.
Hey everybody, just trying to find out a few tid bits about my phone.
1st) When using Myns TwoPointTwo for Incredible, even with the new hosts, and the original Browser with reflow, any page loads 75% and sits for 2-3 minutes then loads...This is on Wifi and 3g.
2nd) The radio app gets HORRIBLE signal, are any Radio apps better than others? Any recommendations on Headphones with good antenna qualities? lol
3rd) With Warm Z TwoPointTwo, Acore and many other system processes continuously force close, took me 100 tried to get through the startup wizard...Any ideas why this is?
4th) What is theorized as the most stable Z Rom? I run Myns TwoPointTwo, and love it, but am fond of the new sense. Any recommendations?

1) I'm not sure about that it hasn't happened to me with that ROM, the only version I've tried is the 4/1 nightly if that helps.
2) Don't know. Haven't used the radio app I like Pandora.
3) Same as 1
4) It seems like most people use Warm Z and Nils Business Sense. I have yet to try anything besides Warm Z, only had my phone 2 days. Shooting for a new ROM every day.

1. So you dont see that browser problem on 4/1 Nightly?
2. the ONLY reason I want the radio is cause of a local radio program that I like hahah!

Anyone else get a random black screen of death with CM7? To clarify, when you open an app, the screen will just black out except for the notification bar. Sometimes you have to force stop the app and re-launch it. This happened once and I couldn't even get into Settings | Applications to force stop it, as that was "BSOD" also. I had to reboot. There's no specific app that it happens with, either.
Also happens regardless of the kernel I'm using. HW0003.
It drove me nuts for the last time today and I rolled back to completely stock Sense 2.2 ROM. I already miss CM7
Is this something fixable? I really don't want to use Sense UI until they release the official Sense/2.3 update (I have the 100% brightness problem with the leaks). I can't imagine the CM brains would overlook a problem like this.
I would just recommend a complete wipe...wipe again..and again..and oh yeah, wipe dalvik a few times too. Then try to reflash CM7 and see what that does for you. And try using the stock kern for a while, then switch and see if the issue replicates.
My 2 Cents,
Tee Jay

CM7 Final (7.0). Kernel that it comes with. Happened when I was using Savaged-Zen kernels also.
EDIT: Used to happen with the nightly's and RC's, too.
Been running CM7 since before RC1 release and currently on CM7.0.2.1 with Timat kernel and never had a bsod
Try flashing a different aosp rom.. There are several that are actually off cyn7. I like kings gb myself couple of different builds there.. Did you try fixing permissions? download the rom from web again. And then reflash.. I had a similar problem on destroyer rom think I got a bad link or computer corrupted the download.
Kings GB Destroyed EVO
It could be a lot simpler; make sure your programs are compatible with Gingerbread
Despite having compatibility mode, I still get issues with certain apps.
Yes, this is happening to me, mostly with Messages and Maps. I am using Tiamat, CM7 final
Try this rom, it is based off CM7 but is WAY more stable
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1000676
for my phone anyway, cm7 is buggy and gives me bsod and random reboots. sucks because i am a die-hard CM fan
I used to get this issue alot when using an older build and savage zen. I know exactly what you're talking about. Flashing the #57 and switching to tiamat 3.3.8 fixed the blackscreens for me.

Rather bump my old thread than start a new one. These problems still happen using the latest "stable" build and the kernel that it comes with. I thought it was the launcher at first, but it happens with LP or ADW.
This is massively frustrating.
I've wiped and reflashed so many times I'm going to puke. I've even used Caulkin's wipe .zip script.
EDIT: Add these to the list of issues:
1. Sometimes when you are typing a URL or something into the browser address bar, the letters don't show up as you type
2. Sometimes when you hit the numbers button on the default keyboard, nothing happens, so you're "typing blind"
The Black Screen of Death happens to lots and lots of various programs, not just ones that "aren't compatible" -- like Gmail, messaging, Market, it's also prevented me from going to Settings | Applications to kill apps off, too...
Use this script and Godmode kernel. Its ridiculous how amazing this is

A drop of Chuck Norris's semen was placed on Android OS. We now have CyanogenMod.

CM7.0.0
When it was happening to me last night, I had to yank the battery to get into recovery from boot because **** wasn't working. I did a full wipe and restored my stock backup.
I'd say that I'll miss CM7, but I won't miss the massively frustrating problems. I'll patiently await tomorrow's update.
Soooo, I've spent almost all of brief 8 months of rooted joy bouncing around Sense-based ROMs. I jumped on CM7 after last playing with early releases of CM6. The issue: Awesome Drop doesn't work with CM 7. (I love this app for being able to drag and drop things from any computer to my phone sans cables.) At first I thought I'd corrupted something on my end, so I went back to Lou's Senseless Revolution (Sense-based) and Awesome worked without issue. I then wiped and flashed to CM 7.0.0...Awesome was DOA. I then tried wiping and flashing to CM 7.0.3...Awesome is still DOA. I even tried the latest nightly (83) to no avail. I love this app and I'm quite frustrated that it won't play nice with CM7. Two questions:
1) Due diligence: is anyone who is currently running CM7 able to use Awesome Drop?
2) Does anyone know what might be causing this issue?
I'd sincerely appreciate any input!
I just got done using it on CM 7.0.3, it worked perfectly. I'm not sure what could be causing the issue I have GoLauncher installed as my home and not ADW. Not too sure if that has any affect.
Thanks for the reply. I'll be honest...I'm not prone to profanity, but I'm getting close. I've restored my old Sense-based ROM four times today...Awesome Drop works fine. I then upgrade to CM from there. Any CM 7 build I choose...Awesome is subsequently DOA. When it worked for you, did you use it over WiFi or 3G? (I'm using 3G.) EVERY TIME, I get to the 'waiting for drop' point, drop a file in my browser window........and then nothing. My Inc remains at the 'waiting for drop' screen. Men more magnanimous than I would probably just move on....but I've become obsessed with making this work. I've tried 7.0.0, 7.0.3 and nightly 83 with the stock kernels. I've tried 7.0.0 and 7.0.3 with Chad's last few kernels. Nothing. For the life of me, I can't understand why the app won't cooperate with CM 7 when it works on my phone with a Sense ROM. I wipe everything before every flash, so I don't think there could be any remnants from the Sense side of things. Any ideas? Anyone else? Am I the only member of this special level of hell where one of your favorite apps won't run?
PS - In all cases, I've tried it ADW and with LPP.
Is it possibly just not working on gingerbread?
Edit: Didn't read, I'm sorry.

I was using 3G, it wouldn't let me drop a whole folder though just files individually. Not sure what could be going wrong for you, honestly I was too impressed with the app. Drop box is much better.

Okay, thanks for the efforts. I'm not sure what is tweaked on my end. None of my efforts have worked. Dropbox IS great (I use it, too). However, I use several computers; many of them are community machines. Thus, remaining logged in to Dropbox is less appealing/secure for me than quickly launching a browser with Awesome Drop and completing a file transfer. I guess my usage scenario is somewhat unique. Thanks again, though!
