Very bad to no signal atall?!!!

Hey guys,
After rooting my evo about 4 months back ive neen through many roms, kernels etc. I have only updated the radio and pri once recently but never touched the winmax but recently ive noticed horrible signal strength sometimes texts wont even go through and im getting around 1-2 bars max no matter if im at or out somwhere.
So my question is what should I do to improve this would updating wimax help? Since ive never updated it since I bought this phone.
Im on cyanogen b2 supersonic mod which I flashed over a nightly because thats what da instructiins said.

if its just recently i would see if any friends have signal issues in the same areas... could be a tower issue.
otherwise i would go back to a stock 2.2 odex (it will jave latest wimax and radio in it.) and see if that helps.
if nothing works... it very well could br your phone.

Updating the WiMax radio will have nothing to do with your 3G/voice reception. That's a totally separate radio.
+1 on v_lestat's suggestion. See if anyone else is having problems, if they aren't I would try these steps (continuing on to the next if the previous didn't work).
1. Update profile
2. Reset profile in epst ##3282# (Need MSL) Edit Mode>Data Profile>Menu>Restore
3. Experiment with different radios until you find one that works best in your area.

Thanks for thr reply but can you explain in a little bit of detail like what will the epst do? And whats "MSL" lol

I saw someone post something today about a program on the market to get your msl. It's called MSL reader and will help you get that. You cannot edit details in the epst without it. If that doesnt' work, you can always call sprint and tell them you need it. There are a couple of threads on here for help if they aren't willing to give it to you.
In the epst you can change things pertaining to your data pofile, wimax settings, and misc advanced settings. DO NOT CHANGE ANYTHING IN HERE UNLESS YOU KNOW WHAT YOU ARE CHANGING. For what you need to do, just reset your user profile and then click OK to restart your phone.

Can't download update or use different keyboard..

I have a rooted Droid Incredible and I was wondering if anyone has the same problem. I haven't been able to use new keyboards when I install them, also theres been a Verizon update for my phone but everytime I say restart and install, it never restarts/installs. Anyone know what I did? Lol.

are you long pressing on the area where you are typing to change? also make sure it is enabled under settings>language&keyboard

Extended network not working

I am running redemptive Revolurion 2.2, rooted with unrevoked 3. Tried several rom/radio combinations always updating using *228 opt 1 when changing roms. Everytime I'm on an extended network and place a call I get a message saying please reenter the 10 digit number you are trying to dial do not press send. Doing that the call may or may not go thru... Any ideas? Verizon is clueless

Ok, unrooted. Back to stock, yuck. Verizon store I found deactivated my phone and manually reactivated it claiming it was that or replace the phone. I'm hoping for the best would rather not have a slcd screen. Oh, and immediately after leaving the store rerooted and went right back to Lous revolution 2.2.

Yeah what he did, unroot it. Take it to the VZW store and let them try and fix it. At least you should get a working phone out of it one way or another.

Can't find aan answer reprogramming on aosp

I cant find this answer anywhere. But how can I reprogram my phone? Whenever I dial *22899 it seems to work then fails and when I do *228 option 1 it fails as well any ideas?

It also doesn't bring up the normal call screen it brings up the activation screen. I tried putting a different phone.apk in but it did the same thing.

Also ##778 no longer works. I tried putting Epst in system/app but that didnt help anything.

One thing that I have noticed is that when I am running a rom not built on the stock incredible sense like some of the DesireZ or Evo ports ##778 just calls verizon instead of pulling up Epst. Sometimes it just sits there doing nothing. I have also run in to this when using a ported dialer/phone.apk.
And this morning running IncRom 1.2 w/ Viva Cyan 1.2 and CyanDialerDragons, I get FC on Epst. It worked a few days ago on same build. Going to wipe and update my loadout today between shoveling and hope that fixes it again. I only open Epst to double check my DUN before tethering just to make sure all my flashing didn't reset it.
I don't know enough about what is really going on under the hood to help other than that, sorry.

Well thanks for letting me know its an actual problem and not just my phone being dumb. I actually tried to switch back to sense and my phone was being the buggiest ive ever seen so i figured that a sign to stick it out with Aosp.
Just found out if you dial *228,,1 or 2 it works still.

[Q] quick 3g question.

Having an issue with my 3g service not working. didn't do anything special with anything on my phone, it just stopped at some point this morning. I was running mikg v3 b1 with aggressive freedom, v6 scripts (options 7 and 20 selected) and the 3g tweak from zeppelinrox (fastest setting). I tried reflashing the kernel, flashing more freedom kernel, putting the phone into airplane mode and back, and now I am restoring a backup in which 3g was working to see if that fixes the problem. Aside from the usual answer of try reflashing the rom or reflash the kernel could anyone offer any advice as to what I could possibly try next if this nandroid restore doesn't work? Thanks so much in advance for helping me to solve this problem.

Have you tried updating through the ROM's setting?
Try to update your prl and profile and maybe that'll do it.
Report back and if it doesn't work we'll try some other things ...

No dice on the updates. Sprint says everything is hunkey dorey but I smell a rat. What other options are there. Btw, my nandroid restored to mikg 2.61, aggressive freedom.
Edit: 4G seems to work fine fyi. For some reason 3g will not come on.

First go into your settings, wireless and networks and check and see if your mobile connection is checked on. I kno it sounds simple but check anyway.
If that's not it, get msl reader off the market its free, you need to be rooted, copy your msl code down. If your not rooted you need to call Sprint and they'll give it to you.
If youGo to the dialer and press ##3283# edit mode, profile, hit the menu button, and press restore when it pops up. Your phone should restart, if it doesn't turn it off. Turn it back on if it didn't shut down automatically. Let it do its thing, when the prl update pops up cancel it. See if your 3g comes back. You can update profile and prl if you'd like after this process. I hope this helps

Thanks. Did all of that with Sprint on the phone. They put out an outage ticket because the tech felt that service may be down in my area. A few others with Sprint at my job have also reported problems today. I'll have to wait and see when u get off of work and out of the area to see if its sprint's problem or my phone. I'll update as soon as I find out. Thanks guys for being so willing to help! Much appreciated.
