All my old market apps download just fine, but when I purchase new apps I cannot download them. With any new app purchased I get Download Unsuccessful error. I have tryed clearing market data/cache, wiping all data and caches, I have even tried factory resets with no success. Don't know what to do at this point. I am running DC 3.5 with netarchy-toastmod 4.13.

I've had this too without any quick permanent solution. What has seemed to help me was reflashing the gapps. This probably will not completely fix it, but has definitely helped a bit.
Thanks for the suggestion, I downloaded the Google Apps for HDPI devices for CyanogenMod 6 at http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Latest_Version#Google_Apps
Unfortunately it didn't work. I thought for sure this would be the key. O well at least now I have the new version of G-mail.

Have you tried using a different ROM and using Titanium backup to restore the apps on your favored ROM?
Sent from my PC36100
I don't know if this will help you, but sometimes when I try to update an app it will download but won't install. I just go to the sd card with ES File Explorer under /download and the apk is there. Sometimes just clicking on the apk will install it. If not, I just delete the apk and redownload the update.
IDK if installing new apps saves a temp apk to this same folder, but you could look there to see if you have a bunch of apk's that failed.

That is a good idea. I will have to try that when it occurs with my phone. Better than nothing.

I have tried different ROM's with no luck. Also they are not even begining the download otherwise I would find the .apk and install it that way.

Hi, Since I changed my rom to CM7 my market quit showing my apps in the "My Downloads" tab.
I've tried Titanium Backup's market doctor.
Titanium no longer has any market links in it's backups.
Tried clearing cache and data from the market. (The clear options wern't clickable)
Also, tried leaving the market open and Installing an app that I had installed already and tried installing a new app.
I also re installed every single one of my apps manually, only to have them gone from the list the next day.
Newly downloaded apps only remain in my Downloads for a day max.
What can I do to fix this?
Thanks.

Good to know I am not the only one experiencing this.
Hopefully someone can figure out a fix soon, My apps haven't been updated in a while.
If I can find one, I am going to try to install the old market and see if it will detect my apps.

Not sure if it's related to CM, it's been happening to me in both CM and MIUI. For whatever reason if you restore your apps through TiBU, the Market wont see and/or make the changes.
I was unable to get an order version to install without foreclosing.
Anyone make any progress or have any ideas how to fix this problem?

This is a bug that was fixed in Market v. 2.2.11, which is what's in the latest gapps package.

Thank you for narrowing it down to the Market app itself and not something I messed up.
I am using v2.2.11 with the latest gapps (20110120) found http://goo-inside.me/google-apps/
I've tried clearing data, uninstaling and removing the .apk from /system/app then reinstalling from the .apk, but it hasn't helped.
What should I do to fix the market correctly?
Thanks again.
Hey everyone,
When i turned my phone on today, i noticed that the Android Market is completely removed from my phone!
I have tried installing it again using a .apk and also tried installing it using a .zip and flashing it via recovery, but they both have not worked...
any idea on how i could get this back?
Rather than use an apk you've put on your SD card card yourself, use a file explorer to go to system\app and run vending.apk from there.
This worked for me when the market was missing after flashing a new rom recently.
I did get a couple of download errors when I first used the market, but after a couple of rebooted it was fine.

Sorry man, I don't know what else to do.
Maybe it can be pushed or pulled or something through adb, but I don't know how to use this.
Keep asking though, someone will be able to help....

Hello everyone, i hope this is the right place to post this.
Here is my issue, its prob easily fixed but im just unsure of how to do it. I was messing around with some inverted apps. Google Play Store was one of them. It wouldnt work, and the store kept force closing.
If i reinstall the vending.apk file, it installs over what i have and works fine...untill i restart my phone. After restarting, first thing i get " Unfortunately, Google Play Store has stopped"
Can anyone shed some light on how i could fix this? It works perfectly fine until i restart my device.
Try clearing data and fixing permission

Will update when finished.
EDIT : Nothings different. First thing that happens after reboot is the force close error.
Bump. Can anyone help?

I had the same problem! Are you doing the copy/paste method? Then I kept trying different things, then I figured out you can use file manager program to install it, and it seems to work fine. Try that maybe

or- maybe not- just force closed on me again!
same thing happens to me, on JW4 and as soon as I download an app, force close. Tried everything, older versions, modified versions, clear cache, fix permissions. I can download install from other markets no problem. Everything else works .. I'd hate to do a factory reset. Ideas??
FIX! You must be rooted. Uninstall play store, then using a root explorer paste vending.apk in system/app, then reboot. You can also use the mod vending.apk, it'll work. I had moved apk using titanium backup into my system rom, then when I did the most recent update it all went to hell, force close every time I tried to download an app. By doing the above it installs it outside of the rom and it worked. Hope it helps!!!

You don't have to install another Rom. 1st to a search for a mod playstore multidpi .. manage apps and clear data on playstore .. then with root explorer go to system/app check name .. vending or phonesky .. rename your mod playstore to same paste in system and set permissions to rw-r--r-- .. move paste overwrite into system/app reboot

Well, it may not be the reason for issue. I also made it user app but there was no issue untill once i stopped when some app was getting downloaded.
I tried every thing like restoring from Titanium backup, cleanig cache, cleaning data for google play store and google play services but no luck. Finally it got resolved when i flashed gapps after deleting google account. Then after flashing gapps when i created new acount a d then install apk it worked.
Hope this will help.
I have installed the MildWild ROM on my old Desire (which my partner uses). This one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1453287
I have tried installing the Google Talk app from that page plus also other apk versions from various places but none seem to work. They either fail to install or force close when started. All other apps are fine and the ROM is quite good, stable and quick.
Can anyone help with a fix please. Or link to a guaranteed gtalk apk.
Cheers

are you flashing the zips in recovery? Try downloading the zip from the page, extract it and take the apk out of it. Then using a root explorer, move the apk into /system/app and change the permissions to rw-r-r

No, I was just doing a normal apk install, I didn't realise it was a system app. I will try this when I can.
Thanks very much. :good:
I just installed Hyperdrive rls14 and Google search crashes every time I try to use it.
I've rebooted, reflashed the rom, clean flash, wiped everything, removed Google search with Rom toolbox and reinstalled it fresh from the Play store. Nothing seems to work.
I love the rom, and want to keep it. I use Googe now a ton though, so I'm stuck here.
Google search is a system app so if you use rom toolbox it will not delete it from the system. Using a root explorer go into system apps and delete it. Reboot, this reboot is very important to do. After rebooting the phone go back in using root explorer make sure it's still gone. Then redownload from play store and install.

I just noticed that S Voice doesn't work, either. Since Google search uses voice recognition also, could it be an issue with that?
Did you check the MD5 Checksum of the Rom before Flashing ? I would suggest downloading the Rom again. Check the MD5 Checksum to verify a good DL. The Full Wipe, and Flash.

You may be missing chaton or chaton v. I installed this app from the market, S-Voice calls on this app to work. You still needs to follow all the steps listed above to remove google now with a root browser. I used rom toolbox pro and that did the trick for me.
