Howzit guys
So, I was copying some stuff to my SD card via USB cable from the PC. Now on the phone, it says Mount/Read only..try tapping.. (I cant see the rest of the message)
I tried turning phone off and on with and without card. Wont mount
I dont have a microSD adaptor or another phone to put it into either. Anyway I can just format it with the phone??
Please help!
Thanks!!
Managed to fix this.
Rebooted into recovey - selected USB Toggle - showed up on PC after that - then just formated and rebooted phone.
All working again.
Was odd though??

I was uploading some music onto my phone and I got the message:
"The SD card has an unexpected problem. Tapping to recover it."
I'm not exactly sure how to fix this as I can't mount it so I can't see it on my computer to format it either.
Any ideas?
Oh and also the only working computer right now I have is a Mac :[
Edit: Nevermind, I plugged my SD card into my Vibrant and back into my G2. It works fine now..
This happened to me with my nexus. Since we dont have a custom recovery it obvioulsy wont work with your G2. But when that happened to me, Amon's recovery with USB mode enabled was the only way I could get my mac or pc to see the sd card. Do you have a rooted phone with a custom recovery you could try on? Preferably, Amon's.

had the same problem... i connected the sd card directly into my MacBook Pro (micro to SD converter) and formatted it into Fat from the Disk Utility. See if you can mount the SD Card while connected via USB
Same thing happened to me this morning...I physically took the card out cleaned it off and reinserted it...don't know if its the same problem but maybe it will help.

Fixed the problem by just sticking into my friend's Vibrant then seeing how it worked fine on his phone I put it back in mine.
does anyone know what actually causes this?
I reformatted my sd card by mistake and now when I plug my phone into the usb charger the only thing that happens is it starts charging. I get no options. Did I delete my drivers? If so how can I fix this?
Thanks
Go into settings/connect to pc/make sure that ask me is check.
Tried
I tried this but I do not have that option on my phone I am running cyanogen mod ,, any other ideas?
Do you have an sd adapter? see what files you have in the sd card.
I dont have an sd adapter.. but, i am pretty sure everything got erased when I reformatted the card.
okay. take the battery out off the phone than put it back. the phone should install an android secure file when you turn it on.
I have tried at as well. but, i think because i am running cyanogenmod its stopping it from installing the file. is there a way to update my rooted phone with this file?
So my phone and computer will not detect my sd card after I dropped my phone.
Here is everything I have tried:
hard reset
sdhc micro adapter for my computer
pulling out sd card and reinserting
pulling battery and letting sit for awhile and plugging battery back in
I followed the sd card and usb fix issue found in the forums, but everytime I install the jdk the sdk installer says it is not found.
I know if I am able to format the card somehow it will fix it i think. but I cannot get anything to recognize it, or if I can figure out what single driver is missing on my phone I can figure the rest out from there.
The sdhc adapter works with the new micro it came with but not mine.
I am still able to use my phone but I obviously cant do **** without the sd card.
I have a recent backup of my sd card on my computer I just need a way to get it to my sd card and I am stumped.
Thanks for your help guys
Is there a way to force my comp to read the sd card?
Update
One thing I was just able to do was to take the micro sd that came with my adapter and my phone reads it just fine. However it is only a 2 gb. Like I said, I have a back up on my computer of everything that was on my sd card at one point. Being that my phone can read sd cards, does this help at all with somehow fixing my factory one?
Since I am now able to get into rom manager and my phone recognizes some sort of sd card. Would flashing some sort of sense ROM allow me to put my original sd card in and format it?
If all you want to do is repartition and/or reformat it, boot into recovery and do it there. While in recovery, especially is your recovery is amonRA v2.3, select the "MS-USB" option and serif your computer detects it while you're connected via USB.

I am currently using clockwork. I tried the mount unmount options in recovery mode. I have never really tried amon-ra for anything but now might be the time to give it shot.
Need a way to access internal memory so I can fix my usb or sd card see following for information:
Short Version:
USB wont work and SD card wont work so I cannot use the following method http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=695243
Long Version:
So right after i had backed up my rom i did a wipe, then the phone stopped recognizing my sd card. I took it to Sprint they couldn't figure it out, so i was stuck in Bootloader. yesterday i did a hard reset and wa-la i can now use my phone ...sorta. It will turn on I can access everything, but it freezes up and shuts off after 40 seconds (i got it to stay for 2mins one time) also it still will not recognize my sd card. I tried other cards still no luck and I know my card works because I can use it in my laptop. So i did a little searching on xda and found a fix, but i cant do the fix unless i plug my phone into the laptop and run a cmd prompt well now here is the other problem my computer sees the phone (listed as My HTC) but my phone wont recognize that it is plugged in. It will charge when it is shut off thats about it. Well back to xda and there is a fix for the usb, but.... I need my phone to recognize my sd card because the files will be on it. In short to fix my sd card i need usb and to fix the usb i need my card I am stuck in a horrible loop, so what I need is a way to access my phones internal memory so I can install the usb files on it so that i can fix usb then my card, then recover my rom.
Thanks to wall who help or at least try
Im not totally sure if this will help, but i know you can mount the sd card as usb storage in Amon_Ra and also in settings under "storage" or so i believe there are settings for mounting and unmounting the Micro Sdcard check those, it should be mounted in the settings for your phone to see it. hope i helped
I just had this exact same problem. Nandroid, wipe, flash, then stuck in bootloader spent two days trying fixes, unroot, root, and,had to turn it in. Luckily best buy has an awesome warranty.

thanks all... ended up replacing my phone, but if anyone ever finds a way to fix it let me know! Thanks again
I was really hoping that this thread would not dead-end. I've got what sounds like a similar issue...in addition to not being able to reformat my SD card (in Windows or in Android) due to it being detected as write-protected, but it's not write protected.
I'm really anxious to try the aforementioned thread to fix USB and SD, but I can't detect, mount, or format my SD card. Am I screwed?
*EDIT* Fixed the write-protection issue...working on the rest now.
*EDIT* Still can't format card through Android. Is there an ADB or fastboot command to format the SD card?
Hi. I have a Samsung galaxy S i9000 running a Jellybean 4.1 custom ROM. androidadvices. com/ update-galaxy-gt-i9000-stable-jellybean-411-firmware/#.UDJOV91mT9d
Everything's working fine until today when my laptop (Win7 OS) froze up while I was formatting the internal sd card of my phone.I restarted the laptop and phone and the internal sd card cannot be detected by either device anymore.
I tried to format the sd card multiple times to no avail. I tried to flash stock GB ROM. ODIN can detect the phone but cannot complete the process. It fails on "Setting Up Connection".
Up to the above process I was able to use my phone (it turns itself on, just can't use internal sd card). However, I made a stupid mistake of doing factory reset, cache wipe, and dalvik cache to reflash the JB ROM in hopes that it will fix it. Now, my phone is stuck on the Welcome screen (one with Choose Language and Start to setup) but the touchscreen isn't working so I can't select Start. The buttons on either side of the center button works, though. Only the touchscreen function is not working.
Now obviously, USB Debugging is not set up on my phone so I can't do a lot. My first question is: Is there a way to setup USB Debugging using ADB or from Recovery?
Additional info:
Recovery and Download mode are both working, although like I mentioned above, I cant reflash stock ROM because of no usb debugging and it fails in Odin. File Manager can be accessed from Recovery but it has no internal sd card directory. External sd card is ok, though, as well as the system files. But cannot install from internal sd card (obviously), cannot format sdcard, or do anything that has something to do with sdcard. It gives an error "E:\ can't mount sdcard"
When I connect the phone to the computer via USB, the phone "knows" that it is connected because the notification beep sounds and on Computer, it shows a new drive name (F but it says "Please Insert a disk into Removable Disk F.", which I believe, means it can detect it but cannot mount the storage.
I can also use adb.
So my questions are:
-How do I get the touchscreen functionality back?
-How can I enable my internal sd card to be mounted on the phone again?
-(same as above) How do I enable USB Debugging from adb or recovery?
I know I have a lot of issues on my phone but I would really appreciate it if you can help me. Thank you.
Did you find a solution?
