right, ive had to do the 'clear storage' thing again on my phone as i was having problems with it.
now ive been using the same kind of set up on the today screen for a LONg while and i want a change.
I dont like the touch flo or windows menue style either.
i put pointui on last night and its good, but there are things i want to change on it but i cant.
so what would you reccomend for me?
my old set up was like this...

Have you tried, or willing to try flashing a custom ROM onto your phone?
The Max Sense interface is based on Sense 2.5 (newest version of Touch Flo), but is HIGHLY configurable. It it doesn't give what you want, I don't now what will!
Energy ROM has it: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=562773
Lots of people also like SPB Mobile Shell, but that is paid software.
i tried SPB demo but there were bits i didnt like, but i cant remember what it was now LOL
i am installing throttle launcher as we speak. ill let you know how i get on.
As for the rom i have still got the stock ROM
Flashing a custom ROM is not difficult. It might give you the home screen you're looking for, and may also alleviate the lag issues you seem to have (based on your signature).
I flashed my first custom ROM last May, and its so good, I immediately started wondering why I waited so long!
im rubbish at doin **** like that and ill probly brick my phone LOL
rubbish excuse i know.
but i also want a super light rom when i do finally do it tho.
throttle launcher is good btw, but when ya flip your screen it all goes away
Read the threads, and follow in the instructions, and you won't brick anything.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550540
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=550131
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=649191
See how the first thread is titled "Flashing your First GSM Rhodium Rom (For Noobs)"? Its really written to be simple and idiot proof. Anyone can do it.
Best thing to do, if you are flashing for the first time, is read as much as you can BEFORE you start. Read the first few pages of each thread, and maybe the last several pages (to see what commons issues people have had). Same with the thread for whatever ROM you choose.
Follow the instructions carefully, and you will be fine. Usually nothing terrible will happen, but maybe just a minor glitch in the process that is not exactly per the instructions. That's why its good to read through the threads. You won't likely encounter a problem, which has not already been found by somebody else and has a solution posted for it somewhere.
Good luck.
fair enough, anyone wanna creat a super super light rom for me were everything works really well now?

+1 from me
i wonder how much a chef would want to create a rom to my specs??
How did you geth the icons on your Today Screen ?
Anything that is based on the sense/flo are pretty bad, they are just as slow. There isn't a ROM out there that is simple and fast, I have tried many of them and they're all bloated.
The fastest version of any of them is the default with the HTC Sense disabled, like you have found.
HTC sense is terrible and slow.
SPB Pocket Plus is descent: http://www.spbsoftwarehouse.com/products/pocketplus/
The closest thing I can get to Samsung's "Today Plus" from my Sansung Epix...which is awesome and really fast.
This SPB version is ok, the graphics aren't as good as the Samsung version...there are a couple of options missing...like the ability to see missed calls, voice mail, or email or text messages on the today icons...but it runs 10x faster than touchflo3d with maybe 1/4 the space.
I love the touchflo and sense look even more...but they take so much space on the device to run...you can't do much else at the same time.

Thanks

I'd love to see everyons home screens as well.. I have attached a program that takes them for all the people out there not knowing how to do it
Mine are also fairly simple & maybe a bit dark?

i would like to know that too. also, could you please list the used apps on your today screen
No problem, I have Spb PocketPlus installed with the bare minimum components for the today screen plug-in. Then on my first "Home" Page I have unlocked HTC Home (you have to do this to place it on a tabbed page of Spb) then under it is the meters that come with PocketPlus. Then on the next page I have rlToday with a skin I made and will attach to this post for any that would like to use it. Then the next tab is SBSH PocketWeather 2.0.5 that I slightly modified from the PhatPhinger skin you can find one there site. Then the next page is just a app launcher page that zips me to any of the apps that I use a lot. I have sense added a 5th page that has Windows Live and Windows Live Search plug-ins on it. The good thing is that even with all this loaded and running CRC's v12r6 6.1 ROM, I still have 42.58M Storage and 22.46M Program mem left. And I have a lot of other stuff installed as well.
Thanks for asking about my screens and if I can be of any other help just let me know.
thanks a lot!
one more question: how do you unlock HTC Home? i apologize if it's a stupid question, but i really don't know...
There is a CAB file on this forum somewhere that is HTC Home Customizer that lets you unlock it.
well we havent had one of these threads in forever i figured i would start one even though i am going to cheat slightly

Let me try that, Haven't found a fix or real solution for this. I don't even know the reason for this. I heard something about data loss but since it's only when Wi-Fi is on (maybe mobile internet as well, not sure)
EDIT: I'll post screens as soon as it got fixed
Na, does not work, keep getting reboots.
I'll explain a bit more.
Whenever Wi-Fi is on (it works the first day mostly, after a day it fails)
(for example) like I said, after a day, when i get home from school, turn on wi-fi. it works for a little while (about 5 minutes), then the phone soft reboots and i see the boot animation.
When, after booting , the screen is turned off (with wi-fi still on) it takes about 3 minutes until the screen turns on and is totally white, now the phone freezes for about half a minute and then restarts the boot animation
Only after a boot, i've got a little bit of time to turn it off again wich makes it stop rebooting.
NOTE: The Wi-Fi restored his state of before the boot so... that's why it's on
Hope I'll ever be able to get a fix for this
Got any ideas? :s
your so great man !

could someone who has a little experience on miui roms convince me to switch?
All i ask for is some arguments on miui>sense
please sense/aosp lovers and miui haters dont post here
thanks in advance!
well it seems you already want to switch and dont need much convincing...
seeing as how you will only get biased responses when you ask for only people who love miui to reply. you will only get replies telling you to switch.
only way you can tell is to try it.
but, since you asked for it:
"OMGZ TRY MIUI IZ THE BEST!!!1!11"
The one reason I don't use MIUI at the monent:

}
Notice the wrong coloured text for the title/Google T&Cs (white on white)? It stops me using it, as silly as that sounds
As ringer13 said, if you're asking MIUI lovers you will just going to hear the good sides of MIUI. I think it's your decision, some like it some not... You have to try it by yourself. Make a nandroid backup if you don't like it so it isn't a lot of work...
Anyway I've wrote a list of advantages and disadvantages. But it's just my opinion.
Advantages:
Layout (Can also be an disadvantage depends if you're liking the iOS like layout)
Theme Manager (very easy to customize the layout with lot of possibilities)
Fast
Nice Backup Features
File Manager
Music Player (with automatic lyrics)
Notification bar (Quick Settings)
Weekly updates
Disadvantages:
Official release just in Chinese, you have to wait some day until the rom is translated...
Translation errors
FM-Radio isn't working
No 720p recording
As EddyOS said the color errors
I think it's more buggy then Sense
I hope it helped you.
For me I wanted something battery efficient and aosp does that for me. Sense is just a battery killer really. I also really like the apps that come with and how many settings come with the rom. There are minor issues like Eddy said but I couldn't care because they get out weighed. Tbh if you want to see what a rom is like you should be trying it, not asking people if you should use it or not. It's taken me months and months of flashing and now I'm finally settled on miui androids rom.
Swyped...

MIUI convert here. I highly recommend MIUI Au for the best MIUI english experience. The guys do amazing work with the rom and are providing weekly updates and patch fixes to problems as they are found.
In last release *everything* was working, except wifi but that is fixed by flashing an alternative kernel available from the site. Just do a nandroid backup and flash away, if you dont like it, roll back!
To echo what's been said already - backup, flash and try it out.
I flashed the latest version last weekend and kept it for a couple of days. It was a bit of a shock going from an AOSP ROM, almost like learning to use a new OS again.
Not having an app drawer befuddled me - I was poking at the screen waiting for a full apps list to appear
As a ROM it is very polished, looks terrific and has plenty of customisation options. I liked the folder options for home screen. Battery was pretty good too. I can understand why it has so many passionate converts.
I ended up going back to Oxygen though for one reason only - laggy menus. They were driving me nuts, especially as I was setting everything up from new.
I'll keep an eye on the translated versions on the XDA dev page and may try it again though.
I tried it for a very brief time
Way to iPhone for my liking ! .....

My thoughts exactly! I love eye candy and MIUI has such a nice design and concept (my opinion), but it was too laggy for me.
miui is really excellent and a good battery saver rom. in standby it stays more then 2 days for me. with sense i always had to charge it after 1 day.
I use MIUI-XJ X-part.. and i feel it is the best Rom... it isnt laggy a bit.. may be your installation is not perfect.. for me its damn fast... superb battery life..and so much of free space.. and ram.. for those who dont like.. IOS type interface.. you can always use launcher pro.. or go launche ex.. .i have used it too.. and I did not found any laggyness...
Some missing things are FM Radio.. and 720p recording.. which I am not a fan of.
And we might get 720p recording soon.. I miss FM sometime though..
I dont hate any ROM.. always apprecaite work behind it.. but I love MIUI
Boy no knew roms...deepshining quit ,nrg is out of date, anyone now of anything up to date

Hey 1milenia, no luck figuring out how to attach files?
It is wm6.1, faster and more usefull for multitasking.
I'm actually trying to make run sense on it, and then I'll add CHT
For now, only the lite version works (perfectly with me, just one or two changes and it's ok). It has TF3D 2.1 with sense theme. It's my first rom so don't be angry
I won't to have a rom which is fast but looks great too. Hase the perfect multitasking system and for that, I have to stay on wm6.1 because of it's pop-up menus. My TP2 is my Laptop, And I don't often have access to my computer (even boot it on windows, because it's a mac), so a stylus and wm6.1 is perfect. But if I have to do some things with my finger, there is the nice and beautiful sense interface ^^
Ok. So i've searched and searched but can't find it. Is there a way to get htc sense off of an android phone and install it on the xdandroid build?
You can't because Sense is so interwoven into the phone that it would be a huge chore to even get it out and even if you did get it out, it would seriously be buggy as hell.
Sent from my Infused V2 powered smartass phone yo
ah figured as much. Thanks for the quick reply. I'll try extracting it from my htc evo. if i get it working properly i'll release it here.
Technicall you can as it has been done in the past but the skin slows the phone down quite a lot.
dont bother. I had the froyo version of sense running and it is so slow you will want to shoot yourself. The only way it became usable is if you completely remove everything from each window.
Also sense is so massive it never fit on nand. We had to break it up into pieces where the core was installed on nand and apps had to be on the sdcard.
I used the version that came with the Evo, but i think the desire is probably a better candidate. Best of luck, maybe i was too impatient but some peeps like Wozzer mentioned that you can compress the hell out of the images to help with the bulk. Never went that far.
Hmmm I'll give up on it for now. After playing with the evo...I hate sense. Its ugly. Looks like winmo but without the crappyness factor. I'll stick to adw for now
Sent from my MSM using XDA App
yeah. The sense that came with the evo originally was hideous. And i was shocked to see the winmo version actually being smoother when it came to the weather animation. I know the newer sense builds are nicer but they are just so big. You are looking at 250mb system partition at least for those bad boys.
If you are looking for some nice Sense like animation there are a couple of threads here you can use which will give you that.
arrrghhh posted the Live Wallpapers thread
Enabling this will certainly slow your phone down so you need to go to another thread which arrrghhh put together on Speed Improvements.
I am currently running the following speed improvements and I have some nice fairly smooth animation... Performance of the phone is much better too...
Topic 3 - SD-Booster (cache set to 8192 on 8GB SD)
Topic 4 - Overclocking (650Mhz)
Topic 5 - Turbo Charger (Aggressive 1)
Topic 6 - Manage Apps on Boot (Just the pm disable arrrghhh shows)
i already have speed improvements using arrrghhhs methods. im not looking for live walpapers i was lookin for a nice sense for the xdandroid build lol
to acl- i agree. my evo isnt activated anymore (dont ask why) but i did notice stock sense was smoother. now i run max sense which is a little buggy but still better. xdandroid is awesome i think i will just stick to that. thanks
