Thank you for your support, and for your kind donations thus far.
If you like my work, and can afford to donate a couple of dollars to buy me a Red Bull, please use the link below!
I'm really looking forward to your feedback.
Looks awesome, and if its as stable as you say then its gonna stay on my phone, will test it today/tomorrow and let you know!
Great work! Does it support Live Wallpapers?
Sense has FC'd on me once in 2 days. Unsure of the cause, but unable to replicate!
Edit - No livewallpaper... sorry. I'll look into it.
works perfect!!! but I can't find exchange in this Rom :-(

hi i am just loading this now it looks great and im looking forward to testing it out cheers
Hello, I've just downloaded and installed the ROM, and I have to say....
You sir, have done an amazing job, this is so stable and nice and also fast.
I like what you did in this ROM, you have done a better job than the others in my opinion, your ROM and MoDaCo are the most stable ROM's I've used so far.
Keep up the good work ^^
"note" I have used all of the other ROM's posted in this forums.
It really works good, no FCs!!!! But please, add Exchange!
and market? is twidroid etc in the market ??
Market and Market enabler work.
Nice work, Lockscreen and Genie widget doesn't work for me
Loving the Rom man!!! brilliant, fast and everything is working fine. Am i ment to have the standard Android keyboard? where has my HTC one gone?
network location
Anybody tried flashing NetLoc-signed to this to see if Network Location via cell towers works after?
I am gonna give it a try in a sec; but that is one slow download. Any objection to mirrors being created?
Is this at all AOSP 2.1-r1 based?
I'm learning to live with the standard Android keyboard because it has voice input... still like the HTC IME for the long-press for numbers and symbols though...
APPS2SD
Hi,
Can someone elaborate on the APPS2SD instructions... do I do abd shell reboot recovery, then type the commands in the first post? I got permission errors...
Thanks
Phil
Do Not Bother xdandroid devs, with fillrate or hw3d being faster on donut than on eclair, plz they are not mages, stuff dont just magically work out of no were
At long last i finally got around releasing it, as i said before this is based on a AOSP Donut Build.Speed and stability should be around the same as my last donut build, also i recently acquired a motorola cliq so i will most likely be developing for that device also, please report any bugs i may have missed, anyways hope you like the rom.
I need feedback from you guys to see what works or dosent, i do not own this device. Working and non working stuff will be populated once people have posted them on comments.

thx for reporting this, il try to sort this issue with the market.
Released to market!
Remember all those nifty little tricks in Sense which you sometimes miss on cm7 and cm9? I thought about getting those features into an app which can be used with all ROMS. The main one I'm thinking of is the flip for speaker but there are also other ones like the loud ring in pocket and so on. It was really something that I wanted in an app. The closest one I found was Sanity which switched on the speaker as soon as the user takes the phone off his ear, which can lead to troubles such as in a classroom/meeting.
So far, I have a working version of the Flip For Speaker with an option to disable it of course. I'll will try to port the other features. I would like to get your opinion of small features that improve the usability like this one and I can try including them as well. They can be from other ROMS of other phones like say something from TouchWiz or MotoBlur. Post them here and I'll see what I can do.
Meanwhile, here is an alpha version of the app if you would like to test it out. If you run into errors, let me know. Try getting a logcat if you can. I'm open to suggestions.
Current Features:
Flip to Silence
Flip for Speaker
Pick up to answer (Meaning hold it up to your ear)
Changelog:
Version 1.0
Initial market release!
Get it from: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.ajaykumar.sense
Version 0.6
Fixed the mute bug on pick up to answer
Version 0.5.1
Holo theme for ICS onwards
Version 0.5
Options for speaker volume and headset volume
Version 0.4
Pick up to answer
Version 0.3
+Should support other devices (Earlier had some issues with the sensor readings)
^Improved the usage of proximity sensor
Version 0.2
+Added option for flip to silence call
Version 0.1.1a
^Fixed bugs
Version 0.1a
+Flip to silence call
^Improved flip mechanism by including pitch and roll.
Version 0
+Flip for speaker
I would also like a nice name for the app so suggestions are welcome!(Don't want to use the word sense in case of any copyright issues later on when hopefully, I can release the app into the Market).
If anyone is willing to test on other devices, please let me know.
Source code: https://github.com/ajaykumarkannan/Sense-and-Sanity
You can report issues and see the existing issues here: https://github.com/ajaykumarkannan/Sense-and-Sanity/issues?state=open
You can also make feature requests there.
Heres a good app to control flip to speaker: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.matthew.rice
Only thing is, its a paid app, but works very well for me.
Nice find!
I think I'll continue developing this app so that it can suit my purposes better and it's fun developing
I'm also thinking of adding flip to silence feature. Anything else you would like to see, let me know.
Can you develop apps like internet pass through of sense ?

Had a bug in the earlier version I posted. I thought that only pitch would be enough so the speaker kept turning on at incorrect moments. I've fixed that I'll post an update tonight.
As for the sense clock, sorry. I'm not that good at theming nor do I have enough patience for something like that! Henry would be a better person to ask. You can also check out UCCW clock widget which has sense clock like themes.
For internet passthrough, you can checkout this thing called "Reverse Tethering". I haven't used it personally but it should work.
Fixed the issue with the roll and also added flip for silence working. Updated apk in the OP. I've tested it very briefly cause I'm about to head off to sleep. Let me know if you find some issues.
Updated with a few bug fixes and hopefully should now support other devices because I've changed the API now. Check the changelog.
Added Pick up to Answer. Updated OP.
'senseable speaker control'
or
'non-sense speaker control'
Just a couple of things that popped in my head
Is this still in development? I really liked this idea and would pay a full app to do the "nifity tricks" (my suggested app name )

Hey AceRoom, great work on the sense app hey. Features I know I definitely miss on CM7 and CM9 roms are the jus the three you mentioned earlier on - quiet ring on pickup - flip for speaker and pocket mode. The rest are not so important but if you could get those working on any cm7 or CM9 rom - that would totally rock!
Looking forward to more of your work
Cheers
thanks a lot, i was searching all over for these features.

since this is an application, why dont you add it to the play store?
Amazing! I think it works better than the actual sense version

I think those two features are already working well from the few guys I gave it to. They were mostly running stock ROMs (Samsung and LG phones).

Actually, no. It picks up fine but the caller can't hear me. So I've just turned it off till you you fix it.
For some reason, it mutes the phone when it does that. So I tried explicity unmuting the phone and it still doesn't work. You can unmute it manually but it kind of defeats the purpose anyhow!
It's actually a hack I found somewhere since Android stopped supporting the call answer API after 2.3 (But had it in 2.2 and earlier).
The next thing I'm planning on adding is a speaker volume and normal volume (Because I find that I have to increase the volume when I flip for speaker usually).
I've tested it on the WFS only on CM9. What ROMs are the rest of you guys using?
There seem to be lots of ROM options coming to fruition, but they all seem to be half baked and development is slow. Why not have the Dev's team up and make one awesome ROM? It is getting hard to choose between things like a working GPS or a working camera(for example only).

Well first of all what do you term as slow ? Samsung gave us ICS in 8 months with major bugs, withdrew it and then released it again after 2 months. Whereas the devs here had already resolved those bugs.
Again CM10 is a tough one as this is the only device with CM10. The target was end of the year but look at it we already have CM10.1 as well. So the devs here are faster than the team at Samsung who get paid for it..
As the base is the same drivers and source written for CM10, all the ROMs based on it will have the same bugs.
GPS and camera are no more an issue. I've been using the camera on my CAMP rom and no issues. Also past 2 days I've driven for 600 kms and no issues with GPS and everytime it locks under 30 secs and works very well.
For me the only major bugs left are
1. Keyboard backlight - known solution
2. Sym key - known solution
Rothorick is working on the above two and will surely come up with a fix soon. The term half baked is not something you can use for ROMs being used as daily drivers!!!
Sent from my SGH-I927
Just be glad we get anything at all. We only have one main dev and only a few others helping the process. These roms WILL get finnished but only in due time. Just take some time to relax and be patient. I have faith in dman and all his hard work is greatly appreciated here. Its the holidays let dman have his time to himself.

Errrr..... current CM10.1 has everything but bluetooth and the keyboard backlight. And dman is cracking the whip on bluetooth right now.
Also, the way you word the question betrays a misunderstanding in the process. Most of the ROM developers don't have the knowledge and experience to troubleshoot hardware compatibility problems. We have dman, that's about it. The rest of us, at best, only know enough to gesture furtively in the correct direction or unearth an important path or config file. So, fixes are implemented by dman and rolled out in his sources and ROMs, and his sources are then used by other people to build their ROMs.

You give me way too much credit. I only figured out half of the keyboard backlight problem -- the other half necessarily must come from dman as I don't know where to begin on getting the Android core to poke the sysfs.
As for the keyboard, we have a kludge for the Sym key. I'm working on a proper solution, as well as a fix for the voice search and dotcom keys, but in both cases, because we need changes in core classes, it's more a matter of open-source politics than technical troubleshooting.

Yup, the special hardware keys are a issue in CM on every slider phone. Hope you get a proper solution to this, so we don't have to fool around with framework-res and keyboard files

It literally comes down to submitting patches to CyanogenMod and AOSP and hoping they see the need. We could just make builds with the patch, but we can't call them CyanogenMod or AOSP then.
Could we compile a list of devices that need extra keycodes? It'd definitely bolster our case to say "these 42 phones are directly affected by the issue solved by this patch", plus I can be more thorough.

Can you elaborate on the the code change you are planning to submit. We can still have a patch on top of CM or AOSP, just like we have so many proprietary files from samsung.

We need to change certain core classes like KeyEvent and a few others (there's a list in the comments in KeyEvent.java) as well as a few other places to connect the keycodes to their correct behavior. And it needs to be done in a way that works globally for all phones, not just the Glide. Which is, more than anything, a matter of convincing devs bigger than any of us that we know what we're doing, we didn't break anything, and it's a necessary change.
Being that I'm a noob (<10 posts), I can't post this in the actual ROM thread (mods, please move if you deem it appropriate).
I wanted to ask if there was a way in Google Edition 4.3 to change the clock settings to *NOT* display the hour in bold font?
Is that functionality available and I'm missing it in the settings?
Thanks yeahmann for putting that together and to the entire XDA community for all the hard work!.

As far as I know you can't change the look and feel of the widget in 4.3, however you can always install Cyanogenmod cLock widget where you can customize it. Hope this helps.

Whenever you get a chance can you please let me know how's CM 10.2 working for you so far? I mean can that be used as a daily driver with major things (GPS, Bluetooth, NFL, camera etc) working without any issues. If so please let me know which nightly did you flash.
Thanks.

So far, CM 10.2 is rock-solid. I flashed The Sept 5 Nightly. Reason being - Friday gives me 2 days if something doesn't work.
I tried AOKP (too many options for me -- never thought I'd say that) and both Virgin and 'stock' GE (4.3) ROMs (a bit too stock for me).
I have so far set up email (GMail and Work using K-9 + Invitation Processor) and customized some options/appearance (cLock is da-shizznit). The camera works perfectly. I have not set up Bluetooth and not used GPS, yet, but will try both tomorrow on my way to/from work. One thing that I still need to figure out is the file-system layout inside Android (i.e. /storage/0 vs. /storage/legacy, etc...) as I'm apparently using 7.4GB out of 9.6GB available. This is probably because the stock T-Mo version left most of its guts behind and/or I incorrectly cleaned the device after having flashed all the ROMs.
One thing that I've noticed (with all the ROMs, except stock T-Mo) was that when you press the power button to lock/shut-off the screen, it ends up shutting off like an old-school TV. With the stock version, it would go dark seamlessly.
Regardless, I really enjoy having this phone now that I flashed CM on it. The fact that they provide an 'update-CM' option directly inside the settings is awesome in its own right. I'll update this thread once I give GPS and BT a run (can't promise I'll run TV apps on it, though -- that's not my cup-o-tea).
Best!
if you find certain things to be a bit buggy on CM, give Virgin Rom another try. the hardware elements of the phone work flawlessly. in an ideal world, someone would use Virgin Rom as a base and "Cyanogenize" it so that more things were customizable, such as Quick Setting toggles. CM is great, but the nightlies don't have the stability that the GE Roms have, obviously.
Thanks for your inputs...I guess back up of your old Roms may be eating up your internal space (if you have backed them up )...the old tv animation is the crt animation which Google introduced in ICS 4.0

Aaah! Good to know (about the TV animation).
I haven't backed up my old ROMs, but I'll definitely investigate space usage once I find some time.
Tested GPS and BT this morning: played a few songs over the car radio streaming over BT - awesome.
GPS is working good, too. I get a lock within 10 seconds of starting any app requiring GPS.
Thanks to all!
