So a local radio station has a web streaming radio client, and I recently realized it works with the evo froyo/flash update.
However, the audio shuts off if you turn off the screen or switch to a different browser window or app.
So basically I am looking for a way to force the audio to continue when the page/player is in the background.
Any ideas?

Hi guys,
I've got a rooted Evo 4G CM7...but I had experienced this same problem before root.
Listening to audio from kevinandbeanarchive.com (so. cal radio), and clicking on the audio link launches the embedded media player in the browser. The problem is that even with a strong data connection the audio sometimes pauses, sometimes stops all together, sometimes skips right to the end. Re-launch from the link, and it'll work fine again...for a while. Works fine if you switch off the screen, but you cannot exit the browser or it'll end the stream.
So is there a way to replace the default player in the browser? Thanks guys.
Is there a way to stop media player from automatically playing a song when bluetooth audio connects?
I thought there was a setting on my old Epic 4G Touch to stop autoplay on connection, but I couldn't find it on the Note 2.
Basically when I run Pandora in the car, as soon as it starts up and connects to the BT, the media player starts playing, so I have to pause it, then go back into Pandora to have it play again, meanwhile, the media player shows a pause notification at the top the entire time.
Any ideas?
Thanks in advance.
I've been using Media Button Router on my last couple of phones. You can limit what apps it will interact with, and can just let it time out and no audio will play.
Excellent, I just downloaded it. Thanks!
Really annoyed at myself for taking the upgrade to 4.3 as now I have an issue with bluetooth that I cannot figure out. Bluetooth audio to my reciever was perfect before but now it has the same problem no matter what app i use (tune in, xiilive, standard media player etc)
Basically the phone sends the audio but the speed varies. Like a song will play normal speed, then maybe speed up for a second, then the audio cuts out for half a second and its back to normal again. This will stream fine for maybe 5 seconds and again, any audio will speed up a bit, and cut out. Its only happened since 4.3. Anyone else have this problem or know of a way to fix it?
Well a bit of an update on this. It turns out it doesnt skip with music thats on the phone. So the stock media player and mp3s etc stream totally fine. Its just with audio that is streamed via apps like winamp, Xiilive, Tune in. They all have exactly the same problem as described above. However, the only way I can get it to stop skipping and run normally is if the screen is on and I am in the Wifi networks setting page. Its fine then, until the screen goes off, then it starts to skip again. This is so annoying now. Is it an android issue? Not connected to bluetooth through normal headphones or the Note 2 speaker, all these apps are perfect.
I listen to ESPN radio a lot using either slacker radio or AOL radio app from the play store. Problem I'm having is it constantly stops streaming. I don't believe its a data issue because I disconnect from bluetooth and stream on my speaker phone and it works a lot better. Also... Streaming via Bluetooth I use poweramp or rocket player or whatever default music player and I don't really have issues. This happens on touchwiz and aosp. Any one else with problems like this with same apps or other apps? Thanks in advance.
I have similar issues with NFL GamePass app. On the GN2, I have to my bluetooth device off (but can have blue tooth radio on) when I start a video, otherwise the video plays like it's on fast-forward or only shows a black screen. On Android 4.1.2 the video would stop, and I would have go from full screen to non-full screen for the video to start playing again.
I have the same issue with NFL GP app on my tablet (ASUS Infinity Pad (TF700)) as well. So it's the app. I have no idea because it's only thing that does it; no issue on Netflix, Hulu, Crackle, MLBatBat, ESPN3, NHL CenterIce, BBC iPlayer, Google Music to name a few.
It just happens.
Does anyone know if there is a way (running Malaysk ROM) to make starting music programs (e.g. I use Spotify, MS Groove, podcast players) to switch the MCU mixer to music?
For example - Currently when I am listening to radio and I want to listen to Spotify, Groove or a podcast player next I click the corresponding icon in the launcher but the radio remains on so I have to open the launcher a second time and click Music to turn off the radio/switch android feed to stereo. I would like clicking the Spotify, Groove, etc. icons to do that automatically.
I'd be interested in this as well. I thought that I could do this with Tasker, basically kill the radio app when spotify starts but I don't know what app to kill to make the radio stop.
Killing apps won't help with anything. We need something to switch the MCU audio.
I was operating under the impression that the radio audio stream was coming from an app. However the radio being a hardwired audio input seperate from the Android audio stream would explain why when I reboot the HU the radio keeps playing while it reboots.
I found my solution. I upgraded to a Dasaita MDCD PX5 (OctaCore) with Android 6 and it switches automatically - i.e. Hitting the play button on Spotify turns off the radio, pressing the radio button while Spotify is playing pauses Spotify and so on
