Hey guys,
i'm searching for a widget that extracts certain data from a website and displays it on my homescreen.
for example a number and or a line of text.
there are hundreds of screen scraping tools for windows/mac/linux, but so far i found 0 for android.
do you know anything that could help me?
thanks in advance!
Anyone...?

hi guys, ive been using the ubook program to read books on my 8525 for a long time now, but ive recently started using the HTC Home screen with a grey background. anyway, the yellow ubook icon sticks out as being very ugly and i was hoping to change it to something a bit more fitting. If anyone has any suggestions to icons, anything that resembles a book will do, and how to change the icon, it would be greatly appreciated. thanks

You can probably extract the exe file and edit the image using reg edit tools in RomDonalds or Core kitchen!
I've searched everywhere in the forum using several different wildcards but since I don't know the original name I'm finding impossible to find what I'm looking for.
On certain roms there is a program that when you press either one of these buttons on the title bar:
Volume button
Network
Battery
Task Manager
It popups a big balloon with a pleasant graphical design, does anyone knows the name of this app? Thanks in advance.
No one have a clue?
I think I know what you mean, I have a version that I used for cooking, see attached. It is called Large Title Bar, I hope that it helps.
That's it! Appreciate your help, all the best!
I am just wondering if any Artist (People who Skin and Make themes for TF3D) have their QTC/orPNG files split into sections for easier editing?
Example: You have all the Images divided into folders by their Tab/Category like Home tab, Messaging, Calendar, Internet Tab, and ect.
Just wondering if anyone has done that or if it is possible because I just started trying to get into Skinning but it is hard to figure out which files appear where in TF3D even with M9editor and the descriptions.
I would be very grateful if anyone has done this and could help in anyway.
nixx-X1 did work on categorizing. Dont have the link handy, but should be found easily.
I looked him up and all I found was something about the files categorized and PhotoShop. It is alright though. I guess this is going to be harder than I thought. See you in a year lol. jk.
Thanks though for that.

that would be a daunting but a welcome undertaking
daunting because there are about 2000 files in the latest manila
and the current tools (and they are great tools) are not really setup to take advantage of separated files
welcome because many people could benefit from this
i only skin for my own use and only modify about a dozen files
i personally keep the files i work with in one folder and
the rest of manila as backup somewhere else
If you have any tips or tricks for skinning they would be extremely welcomed! lol
TF3D hates me! I have lost almost all ambition.
Many of the images are used on more than one occasion. Anyway, here's a list of filenames and their virtual paths. The .qtc files are the ones you would go for. There are a few tools around here to convert them to png and back to qtc.
Wow. This will help a lot.!
Manila is crazy. Seeing all those files and blah. I hope I can do this. I did attempt to change the Bottom curtain and just turn it into a fade up with the color yellow but it look just like a solid yellow bar. I think I may be because the image was 2x128pix but when it is on screen it only goes up half of that I think. I unno. Soo confusing.
But I was to say thanks for that filelist! It should help a lot.
To Anyone:
Any tips or tricks about editing Manila would be greatly appreciated!
Hi, new user here, thanks for a great forum.
I just got my HTC Hero and i am loving it. The only thing i am missing very much is a working application for renaming shortcuts. If you add a shortcut to a person "James", default action create message, it shows on the desktop as "Send to J...", which would be great to be able to change.
I have tried both Anycut and Bettercut but none of these work on my phone. I am currently using Modaco 2.5 Core, but i haven't been able to make any of th apps work with the generic european 2.73 rom either - the icons i create do not show up, the Edit button shows no shortcuts to edit, and the apps crash.
Question is then,
1) do anybody have any idea where shortcuts are stored in the filesystem, and how they are represented, data wise? I created a new shortcut and then copied all .db and .xml files to the pc and started looking for it with a sqlite client and file search I but couldn't find anything there. (lol, hey, had to try something
2) do anybody know a combination of a custom rom and a shortcut management application that work together on the HTC Hero?
3) do anybody have any pointers to how to manipulate the shortcuts through java code/api?
Thank you in advance. Hope to be contributing to the forum, im truly fascinated with this thing ! Truly a great gadget.
Best regards
hi guys,
I was wondering if someone could help. I have done a lot of searching but unable to find an answer. I am using the GXFX's rom which I am very pleased with. I also tried to install sushi's touchflo 3d config.cab file on top of this but get errors referring to 'exception errors', so I removed it. What I would like to do is
a. customise the home screen to add new icons. At the moment I have the large clock, call history and calendar. Is tehre any way of adding more icons or changing this screen without losing existing functionality and stability ?
b. How can i put an icon that open a web page to a certain url address, is this possible. I am thinking of terms of say windows XP. Maybe I am asking too much.
many thanks for your help.
can anyone help please ?
