Is there an app that can install multiple apps on your sd card instead of having to go through and install them one by one?
Try "App 2 SD"; works fine for me.
I'm not sure if this is what you mean but titanium backup has a batch install for backed up apps. It installs them all in one click and even redoes market links =)

How do i save my apps to my sd card? i want to save my whole app to my sd card don't care about installing it to sd, just want that the apps i download from market place be saved on sd card for later installing myself either off-line or if i reset phone and don't want to go back to market place and try to find them. The market place doesn't memorize your free apps in the downloads if you install one of them then navigate away then come back to see which one you have missed to download previously it wont show up again.
Ive searched here and on Internet and only thing keeps coming up is installing apps to sd card and why it cant be done. But im not looking for that. Just looking to save it to sd then at later date installing it to memory of phone. just care for saving the apk file not installing it to sd.
I use Titanium back up to save all the apps and some of the system data. When you load a new ROM just do a restore and viola all your apps are back. It does require root access

anything that doesn't require root? or that intercepts the market place download and saves the app to the sd card then installs it to phone so the app can be installed later if you do reset.

You can use a file manger i.e. astro or estrongs to backup apps. It can back up your free apps just fine. The only problem is when you install them from the SD card I don't believe they are attached to the market. That means the app won't update.
Your paid apps are attached to your gmail account so you can reset and they will still be there

so using astro where should i look for the market place downloaded apps?
Im on cyanogen 6.1
I want to have ext2,3..
can that be done by selecting Partition SD Card on "Rom Manager" ?
or do i have to do it the whole comand prompt way?
also, do the apps get deleted after doing ext2/3?
if so, whats a good app to re-install all apps on one click? i dont want to have to click install 1 by 1

Using ROM manager should work to partition your sd card, but I'm not sure about the whole apps getting deleted thing, but I would make a backup of your apps just in case. I use titanium backup, excellent program, restores app data and market links with the app. I use it for user apps between roms and system data when I'm flashing new nightlies all the time. Highly recommend it. It also syncs to dropbox if you have an account with them, which is pretty nice.

Well I've never used Rom Manager to create my ext but I don't think it allows you to select ext2/3. I just used a program on my computer to create it. As far as the apps - yes, they will be deleted if they're on your sdcard, your entire card will be formatted so back it up before you do anything then just transfer it back onto the card once you're done.
I've tried to search around for some info but had no luck. I am also not allowed to post in the DT A2SD thread as I do not have a high enough post count. The problem is this:
A few apps that I am reinstalling from Titanium Backup are failing to install. I just partitioned my SD card (32gig class 10) to a 1gig EXT4 with a 32mb swap. I'm only moving apps and kept the Dalvik on internal memory for now. I started to restore my apps through Titanium Backup and the restore goes fine for awhile but then does a soft reboot toward the end. I've attempted this twice and had it happen both time. I am able to finish installing most of my apps when it turns back on except for 4. I get a failed to install from Titanium backup and the market when i try to restore them. My guess is that there is some partial installs from the soft reboot that are already on the EXT partition preventing them from installing. Any idea to a way to get these apps to reinstall again? Thanks for any help!
Cyanogen Mod 6.1.2
Darktremor Apps2SD 2.7.5.3 Beta 03a
Titanium Backup Version 3.6.7.1
Edit: Just moved Dalvik to SD and still no luck
Edit2: Solved! Delete the smdl2tmp1.asec file from your .android_secure folder on your SDCard
Edit3: By deleting the whole .Android_Secure folder I am able to install apps after it has issues with rebooting the rom after an app install.
Hope this helps someone!
I just had this happen with a few apps. I went into Settings/Applications/Manage Applications and found some let overs which I then removed, which allowed me to reinstall.
The one I had was actually the XDA App. I found the com.tapatalk.xda file (something relatively close to that) removed and was able to reinstall.
Good luck!

I checked in there and the apps are not showing in manage applications either. Thanks for the advice tho.
Yeah I didn't have the full app in there either but I did find those com.* files when you look at all apps that seemed to be related.
I probably just got lucky and found that one to be the problem.

I even double checked for the com files and only have a few android ones that do not seem related to the apps in question.
Solved: I ended up having an error installing a new app from the market and got a error 18. Found this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=755970
I was unable to remove the file in terminal so I just booted into recovery, mounted my sdcard, went into the .android_secure folder and deleted the smdl2tmp1.asec file there. By doing that I was able to install the app I wanted and install my older apps from the market. Didn't even bother using TB to restore them just in case.
Hope this info helps someone else!
^^Nice work!
Glad you figured it out.
I mentioned I also had an issue with the rom rebooting after installing apps. I deleted the .Android_Secure folder and I was able to continue to install apps again. Just a FYI if anyone has the issue.
Is there a way to download apps and store them in sd card? Avoiding backup and re-download all the apps everytime I flash a new ROM?
You could try to copy them to your sd card from data/app with a file explorer app. I'm not sure though if this works on an unrooted phone.
My phone is rooted. I need to store locally due to the fact that I like flashing often.

Use Titanium Backup from Market. Requiers Root. (you have, yeah. )
There you can backup all installed Apps within your settings.
And there are options to make a batch, so that you can backup and restore all apps at one time.

fyi, even if you store your apps in sd card, when you flash another rom with full wipe, you need to download your apps back (still , even the apps is there in your sdcard).
My suggestion is , download Titanium Backup, and make backup every apps installed, because you can easily restore back your apps ( with data saved - this is important especially if you play angrybirds .. lol ) even if your apps install in the system or sd card. No need to redownload back.

What a meant is that you can copy your downloaded and installed apk files from this folder to the sdcard and install them again once you flash.
or you can use MyBackup root to backup your APP and Setting, when you reinstall the OS , you can use it restore your APP and Setting too.

The matter is that I log on Google automatically the phone download all the undreds apps bought and previously installed. Anyway i,
'd to stop all the download and download only "mybackup app" and restore the other apps. I'd like to download and store locally only mybackup, just to make easy the restore.
anyone using rom toolbox here?can you confirm with me that does the app2sd function works?to test it,
-tick set on boot and tick install to sd card.
try to install plume for twitter or any other apps, see if those apps installed to sd card by default, because I am running ARHD 9.0 here and this function does not seems to work.
I used to use ROM Toolbox, but just never saw the use for many of it's functions. At that point I already had ROM Manager, and Titanium Backup was cheaper so I got that instead. I'm not sure whether it's supposed to install to SD by default, or just installs the app in a way that is easier to move to SD (but gotta move it manually?).
