[Q] No OTA Froyo on Unbranded Desire (O2 Network) - Desire Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

My HTC Desire is unbranded (bought from mobiles.co.uk) although I got an 18 month o2 contract. However, there is no branding on the phone and I believe it is unlocked.
Presumably I should have received the OTA Froyo update, right? I've had nothing. I could understand this if it was an o2 branded desire, but it isn't.
Any advice/explanation?

I manually installed.

Took around 15 mins, no problems.

OTA for T-Mobile Netherlands

Anyone with a Desire from T-Mobile NL?
I got my Desire from T-Mobile NL website back in April when it was first launched.
Now, it's not even listed there anymore. It's branded, says T-Mobile in the boot screen, but well might be a T-Mobile UK Desire rerouted to Netherlands.
It says 1.15.110.11 as the software number.
Anyone in a similar situation? Are we ever gonna get an OTA update?
Any info is much appreciated..

Due to get Desire on Three network - ireland, options to upgrade/de-brand

Hi
To sum it up should I buy sim free (expensive) or go with Desire on the Three network?
I am due to get a Desire handset on the Three network in Ireland through a work contract.
As I understand it the rollout is currently delayed due to issues loading the Three applications, branding and customisations on to the devices in Ireland..
I am assuming if this is the case, that the handset will then be both locked and branded, also whenever Froyo comes to device via HTC i will not be able to upgrade due to the Three branding and apps.
So to get froyo (whenever) i assume I will have to unlock and debrand, and get the stock HTC rom - is this all possible? anybody been through this?
Otherwise I am seriously considering just purchasing SIM free althought that will be at least double the price.
Just looking for advice on my best option?
Cheers for any experience, advice (maybe from three UK customers)
TC
hi, if you intend to use the device on the 3 network there is no need to unlock it, debranding your phone is also easy, look here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=696189 this will tell you how to make a goldcard, once you have a goldcard you can easly flash any generic desire rom

How can I tell where my Desire is from

I have an unlocked HTC desire (Grey Color) that I bought in Dubai. How would I be able to tell if this is a European version that is supposed to get the Froyo update releasing shortly?

[Q] Slightly worrying comment on Voda UK board about FroYo release.

In the ongoing discussion about when Vodafone will release FroYo for their branded Desires, someone has just authoritatively posted this;
****The "Official" release of v2.20 (FroYo) software for the HTC Desire, Vodafone branded, will be 28th October 2010****

Branded or not?

Hi guys. I just got a new HTC Desire that was supposed to be unbranded. There is no brand splash screen when I turn it on, but there are some O2 configurations on the phone (like o2 mail, and o2 scene).
I found out that the software version (1.20.207.3) is actually a o2 branded version. I also find out that I got a SLCD Desire, if that matters
The problem is that I didn't get any Froyo update on System Software Updates. Do you have any ideia why? And is it positive that my phone is branded even without the splash screen?
Thanks
I think o2 pulled their ota again because some desire became bricked. If you want there are links to manually download the update.
