I flashed JG5 using Odin (removed sim and sd card) after that i did the modaco r3. Now it does not connect to the mobile network. PLEASE HELP
Did you flash all three files (pda, phone and csc)?
Also, are you talking about mobile network for calls/texts or data only?
Thank you for responding.
Yes i flashed all together.
My Calls / Text is not working...the status bar does not show the connection.
I thought the problem was with the task killer hence that too has been un installed.
I did notice that when i switched sim cards and restarted the network came on but the phone would restart and the network would disappear.

Thanks for the reply. Isnt APN used primarily to connect to EDGE / GPRS. Is it required for registering on a mobile network because as of now the phone is not registering on the mobile network.
Need help urgently...hence bumping
Set up your apn again. Trust me

APN---Done that it did not help.
Sometimes i get the signal strength bars but when i dial a number it does not connect it just says Dialing.
This is getting very frustrating.
should i try to flash another firmware...if so please point me to a mirror site as the samsung firmware site is down since the past few days.
Yes, you probably should try a different firmware. Try JM2 from my mirror. (see signature, download is fastest if you run wuala. direct http downloads may be slow at times)

One doubt...are firmwares region specific or anything goes ??
Once i flash i will update this post and i pray that it works
The content of the f/ws is region specific (additional languages and apps that only work in some countries). However, they all work on the your device!

Flashed JM2...same problem HELP!!
Should i format my internal if that is what is causing the problem...because i am not able to figure out the exact problem.
I have the same problem. I bought my GS from USA and I try to use it in Europe. I flashed it both European and America firmwares but I couldn't solve the problem.
When I press *#1234#, it shows that "Phone: Unknown" and *#06# responses nothing.
When i insert the sim card of another operator the phone works. My original operators sim works on other mobiles except this galaxy s. Any tips on why or how to check.
I'm having the same problem, any help to fix this would me really great!
It seems that the galaxy s is not connecting on 1800mhz after flashing. It connects on networks using 900 mhz. Any way to check this on the phone
This is weird. I tried using the phone from another location and it worked. I think this has to do something with the cell tower near my home location.
Hi guys,
I was able to re-flash the original firmware and all works again. If you guys want to go that way here is the link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=734475 I think this is just for the Vibrant but I'm sure you can find the other firmware on the forums.

I have just recently got an G4 xda exec, fully unlocked and i have upgraded to TML 8.7.1 and i have also got a 3 sim, but when i put my 3 sim card in the device it says that it is an orange sim
I have tried with my other sim card and that is perfect but it is not a 3g sim so i really want 3g to work
Any Ideas ???
Have you run the Connection Setup? I can't remember if TML871 has built one in his ROM or if it's auto-run. Either way, if you run it again, you should be able to select 3sim instead of orange.
Trying that now, it did have that setting, and i have not tried that one before
EDIT: I have tried to do that, it still says orange and when i go into the connection setup it says error with the database
I have had another look at it and it shows that i am on roming signal, but when i was on wm5 it showed UTMS when i put the sim in, so if it is just my signal or not i do not know
but thanks for the help anyway
ALls I can think is to try a different ROM, and see if it's a problem with Tomal's ROM. It would switch to roaming if it can't find your network and goes through another one (eg Orange). Are you still using the same Radio that you did with WM5? Perhaps you should try another Radio - people seem to like 1.15.
Or... find a .CAB with your network settings and just install by hand. I had some problems with settings provided in various ROMs, so always carry Voda NZ .CAB on my SD. Just in case
i have tried using different settings, so i am now trying a different 6.1 ROM to see if it is a problem with this rom
Thanks for everyone's help
I Have been able to fix the problem, i have used the AllmostOfficial 1.2 Professional rom and I went into the phone options and then network and manually selected 3 off the list in preferred networks and added it onto the list and now it works
Thanks for everyone's help and support as well as the good availability of the site.
Good day Gentlemen and Ladies,
So, as you the title states I cannot connect to mobile data (3g). (Before posting this I had done my research trying to find a solution and I cannot find any solutions) Let me tell you a little bit about my Galaxy Nexus SO originally when it was purchased it was a yakjuxw and I flashed to stock yakju-4.0.4 by this methodI can not link the video atm as I am a noob here) (I am sure that I did not skip any steps). I updated to android 4.2.1 all OTA updates and since that day I cannot connect to mobile data. I am pretty sure this is a software issue unless its a coincidence that my device fails on me at this point in time. Everything worked fine before i flashed it. I have tried going into *#*#4636#*#* and making sure my network type is correct as well as the radio band as automatic. I tried rebooting the device, I turned on mobile data and waited for +2hours for it to connect and nothing. I am sure I did not reach my mobile data limit as it is the beginning of my billing cycle. So, if anyone has any solutions would you be kind enough to give me a link or instructions on how to fix this problem. I recently also got double my data free of charge (from my provider) and I can't even use it Lol... Thanks!
1. Settings -> About Phone -> See your baseband? Does it exist or does it say Unknown?
2. Attempted to reset APN?
3. Tried your SIM card in another phone? Does data work on that phone?

Man you are a genius thank you. It was an APN problem. I think when I flashed it the server # and port # went missing or something so I added those and 30 seconds later it is all working! Thanks again my friend. And for anyone who has this in the future you can access you APN settings->more...->mobile networks->Access Point Names (and APN vary on provider)
Just upgraded to 4.3 today but my data services don't seem to function well. Can someone please help me?
Same problem here..
Looks to be an issue with TWRP, have either of you tried the latest CWM recovery? I was hoping to avoid it since my nandroid backup was TWRP (I'm honestly not sure if there's a difference) but a few posts in the main threads are reporting a similar thing.
EDIT: Nope, same issue, at least for omnirom.
I take that back, it does work.
Go to Settings - Network Connections - More Networks - Mobile Networks - Access Points Names
Check and see if you have the APNs from your provider, they usually are 3 ([Provider] Internet, [Provider] WAP, [Provider] MMS - in my case). Make sure [Provider] Internet is selected. When I usually re-install some ROMs, the WAP APN is selected by default and that will show me the 3G data icon but it will not let me access internet resources with my data services.
If by any chance you are missing the Internet APN, search a bit on the internet for your provider APN settings for internet access.
Hope this works.

It just acts like there's no SIM card at all. I don't understand it completely, but CWM is doing something that TWRP is not (or vice versa) and is causing this issue. Took my 7105T from virgin vanilla stock to the omnirom 4.4.2 nightlies yesterday and when I flashed from CWM the issue was resolved.
That said though, I'm unsure how this will affect omnirom's updates so I might need to switch to cyanogenmod. Shame, because I do prefer TWRP.

I don't know what you guys are talking about but I can't even access the APN settings, its invisible. I have a SCH R950 note 2. H2o wireless already took my money but told me I needed to unlock it, even though I can't unlock a CDMA phone. im so confused because it is quad band and has sim card slot but no one can unlock it and I cant find how to flash to h20
Hello all,
I am from Austria and i have a bob-sim-card. It works with the A1-net. So i have to activate data-roaming.
As you see in the title, i have a problem with data connection. It couldn´t be solved with the technical support too, so i ask here for help, because i love my elephone!
I tried flyme and evereything worked fine, but i have all my contacts and apps backup on google, so i can´t use flyme. I went back to stock rom and the same again, data doesn´t work. It shows "U" or "3G" or "H+" in the display and the technical support also see connection, but firefox, wheather app, play store, .... can´t get data.
Does anybody has an idea???
Thanks and greetings from Austria,
Matthias
Try the following:
Go to Settings
select Data Usage
select your Carrier
Activate Cellular Data
Had the same problem (Phone showed 3G but there was no data connection) and this wasn't activated.
Thank you for the tip, it was off! But it doesnt work, with reboot too. I will make a few experiments more with these settings, its a little bit complicated to change sim for looking at xda.
Thanks and please for more ideas,
Matthias
I'v gone to Engineer Mode with *#*#3646633#*#*. CDS-Information says:
Network Information List:
(0)MOBILE()
state DISCONNECTED/DISCONNECTED
reason: (unspecified)
extra: (none)
roaming: false
failover: false
isAvailable: true
isConnectedToProvisioningNetwork: false)
Can anybody read this information? Data-roaming is "on".
There are a few more connections as mms, wifi,... This is the one that don't work i think.
Greetings, Matthias
huh, strange problem you have there - if you really do have to go back to flyme you can flash gapps for lollipop(around 200mb mini version) or whichever gapps package suits you. I did this and it worked fine, also installed nova launcher as hated the miui launcher!
your problem does seem to to do with the data roaming but unfortunately I'm not sure how to force this setting on...
Hello back again,
So there is a solution with installing gapps separat. Thanks for that!
I think the first custom roms are coming soon, perhaps cyanogenmod or something other? This would be wonderful!
P. S. I destroyed my imei with flashing, have to repair, perhaps it changes data-connection too?
Matthias
Not sure about the imei but I suppose it's possible, maybe have to try flyme again then! Hope CM put a rom out for us soon.
I did it!
Hello all,
the phone is working well now! Thanks for all helpers, there were two problems, here are the solutions:
1) When flashing the latest stock rom imei is destroyed. You can solve this with "MTK Engineering Mode" from playstore.
You open the app and go to: MTK Settings, Connectivity, CDS Information, Radio Information, Phone 1.
Here you have at the top "AT+". here you complete to >>AT+EGMR=1,7,"123456789012345"<<, of course with your imei, which ist standing on the akku-cover.
Then, very important: You have to put in a space after "AT+", so it looks like >>AT+ EGMR=1,7,"123456789012345"<<
Click "SEND AT COMMAND". Thats it.
For the second imei do the same with >>AT+ EGMR=1,10,"123456789012345"<<
2) The second thing is that you have to turn on data roaming at two places.
Settings, Data usage, Card 1, Cellular data and
Settings, More, Cellular networks, Data roaming
So, i hope to help at these problems, i´m very glad with this phone now although i have a few more grey hairs.
Greetings, Matthias
Glad you got it working again and thanks for posting the guide from the bbs forum here though strangely my imei has survived through at least half a dozen flashes(probably more actually!) but I may need this recovery solution one day when more roms come out.
change imei
Perhaps a mod can change the title to "change imei" or something similar?
Matthias
Data working
Not sure if this was mentioned but people who have problem with data network 3G etc I seem to found a solution.
Simpler that it seems. You just need to set up a APN in you settings. Never had to do that with my previous phone (Galaxy S3) so it was a surprise for me.
You just need to find the settings from your provider (they usually have it at their website) and then you should be fine.

No the imei is not destroyed per default by flashing, it might be destroyed by a faulty flash.
I flashed mine a couple of times now without any problems
And no, you don't need Data Roaming on (unless you are roaming).
Cellular data need to be turned on though as it's off by default after flashing.
Just to make things clear
Thanks sharkware, i flashed with sp-flashtool on Win7. Good for you when your imei is ok. Mine was not, no problem.
I have to activate data-roaming because i use a provider who has no own net but works together with a big provider.
Thanks for your comment, i see clearer now.

You, sir, are my hero!
Hi everyone, good morning
I pose this problem ...
I updated my GT-N7100 from the stock version 4.4.2 to 7.1 RR, which is why the phone was no longer lit. The Samsung word appeared looping at its ignition and no reset options worked.
All after the battery suddenly abandoned me!
After the upgrade, unfortunately the mobile network is no longer detected, or rather, the phone does not hook up the signal even if mobile networks are detected (select networks, Vodafone, Tim, Wind, Tre).
If I try to hook my network manually (Tim), the error is the inability to record.
I checked IMEI and is present, and, as mentioned above, networks if you look manually are seen.
I've downgraded to version 4.2.2 to figure out if the problem was about rom, but even with this version the network is not hooked up.
I also tried with other sim, but nothing in fact.
Unfortunately the backup I made did not go well and did not save the files in the EFS folder .... the badge sees us well !!!!!
Do you have any suggestions?
I also tried to reflect the rom Viper, but no change in the network ...
What other tests could I do? Thank you all!
