I had a TMOUS TP2 but I had to send it back because of a faulty POWER ON button, however when I got my replacement one from the mail, the new unit had colored PICK UP/HANG UP buttons, and the Home buttonw as replaced with the "START" button. However if you press the START button it just takes you to the main screen. I like the colored buttons but the Home button is wrong. Is it just me?
I went to the website and I saw that it supposed to have a "home" button instead of a "start" button. Also, why would they make the buttons ALL white?

Yesterday I bought a i780 and now I am trying to flash a WM6.1 image. My problem is the maybe simplest step.
I cant get to the "detect" screen on t he phone. I have no idea which is the "function key". Following the instructions I pressed Enter and the Shift key on the Left side of the keyboard. Holded it together with the power button. But my mobile just starts up as usual.
When I press and hold the Red and Green (Take call, Drop call) button together with the power button, I get to a format screen. In this screen Mirage dont gives me any response.

It's the white and black key; the one that lets you choose numbers on the keyboard (the one directly opposite to the enter key).
Is there a way to manually hard reset the TP2 w/o having to go into settings??
Please help!!
Turn off your phone completely. If buttons and touch screen become unresponsive, pull the battery out.
Hold both "send" and "end" button, then press and hold "power" button. Follow the on screen instructions.
for verizon
Hold down the end key till the device powers off, then hold volume down, send
and end till you see blue text on a white background. Follow hard reset prompt

I think this is for the At&t version below
1. Turn off the TP2. In my case, I had to pull the battery out since the on-off button didn't work
2. Press and hold the SEND and END keys simultaneously
3. While continuing to hold the SEND and END keys, press the POWER BUTTON (a bit of finger contortion here)
4. Press the VOLUME UP button

Hold the TALK, END, and backlight( on top of the phone) With the phone off till you get the reset screen. or if the phone is on then hold all 3 and use the stylus to hit the reset button till you get to the screen to reset.

I was putting a new verison of Android on my TyTN II and for some reason the D pad button would not activate the install menu. So finally out of frustration I hit the volume up button (the - button next to the end call button) and suddenly it worked.
it's not odd, the dpad button, volume up and centre of the screen all work for getting into the install menu, just press and hold any of them.

Don't thinks so... unless the app provides this (exit or something) but this is application specific.
Android depends on the back button, and the menu button.
I'll give you a example, i installed android on a Diamond. Now The diamond has 5 buttons in the front, 2 on the side, and one on the top.
The Dial and the other one are pretty obvious. The back key is just that, the BACK key. Now, the HOME key, is the menu key. I was missing the Home key, and really missing, like, how the hell do i get out of here?
Until i noticed, the Power button only powers the phone, it does not powers off.
When the phone is on, it acts as the HOME button.
Hardware keys, are a must on the droid...
You could use atools and reassign the back hardware button to one that works.
Hi,
My power button still works but it has lost its "click", so when I press it there's no indication if its been pressed or not.
Of course the screen comes on/off if I press it hard enough, but the button itself seems faulty.
I've had the phone since launch. Is there a way to open it and replace the power button? The volume buttons are fine.
Thanks
