Stop browser defaulting to mobile version? - Desire General

Im running 2.2 and would like to make the most of the browser, yet on some sites it keep sending me to the mobile version.
For example on the WilliamHill.com site it loads the home page, but as soon as i log in it sends me to the mobile.willhill.com version
Where do i tell my phone to stop doing this?

Whilst in the browser select the "Menu" key. Scroll down until you find an option for Mobile View, then untick the associtiated box.

How do you force the browser to NOT use Google's mobile version when searching from the browser address bar? (type words instead of url in address bar and press enter).

ah ok, i found it in the end
open browser > menu > more > settings > untick mobile view
Thanks for your help

{SOLVED} No More Mobile Webpages???

On the Iphone there was a Hack that would Alter the Browser setting to not be a Mobile Browser,
So when you visit compatible sites, it would load up the full version of the site,
instead of the Cutdown Mobile Version,
I have Downloaded a couple of Browsers like Dolphin,
But there all the same, Same issue when i got to some Sites,
So Does anyway know of a Toggle Switch, Hack, Mod w/e to Enable and Disable Mobile Web Browsing and Enable Full Websites on your Mobile
Thanks

I've not seen the option in the standard browser for this but I'm sure Dolphin and other browsers will let you spoof site's into believing they're desktop ones.
The option is there in the standard browser, I hate mobile view.
MENU>MORE>SETTINGS>MOBILE VIEW.
1. Open the web browser.
2. Type ” about:debug ” in the address bar and go for it.
3. Choose ” Settings “.
4. Go down the list and select the ” UAString ” option.
5. Select ” Desktop ” from the three options.

formatted for mobile viewing by google

Does anyone know of a method to disable the "formatted for mobile viewing" that results when you use the new voice search? It is getting really old to have to scroll to the bottom of the page and select "view page directly" just to view a webpage as I should.
I am stock nonroot....and I have tried everything I can think of....
in the browser settings there is a setting that allows you to change your client from mobile to desktop. this will affect all webpages though.
Type about:debug in the url window then go to settings and scroll down to ua string and select desktop

Ok....changing to desktop with about:debug didn't work. However, I just noticed my Google search settings were again set to format to mobile. I had changed that...but what ever. Changing that setting does make the voice search default to regularly formatted pages.....But...now it gives me the non mobile view of Google. That sucks too because now I get no location based searches..
Can't win for losing.

[Q] On demand pop-up browser?

I like the idea of the pop up browser, but would only use from time to time. For apps asking how to open up a link, I tell them to open using my default browser always because that's how I want to view most of the time.
Is there a way to call up the pop up browser on demand from links? I'm thinking if I could long tap a link or double tap a link, it could open the link in the pop up browser. Keep in mind the source of the link could be any app, another browser, G+, Facebook, etc.
I know there is a mod to launch a stand alone popup browser, but I don't think that solves what I am asking about.
The developers of Air Calc have had a floating browser for a long time. They are currently making it available for 4.0+ android devices, i believe. I tried to download it to my Note 2 but it is not yet available.

...or at least offer "open link in popup browser" as a choice...that would have been the right way to implement this, because heck if I'm going to leave the defaults off so that 99.99999% of the time when I click a link destined for a full browser I then have to select "Browser" and then press "Just Once" all to open a simple web page. At the very least they could have put in a checkbox in the app selector box that would select the tapped browser in "Just Once" mode the moment you tap, so you don't have to confirm each time.
Sorry, I don't have a solution, I'm just completely echoing your sentiment about this.
I have a bookmark on the home screen that is defaulted to the pop up browser.
It is the only way I know to get the pop up browser on demand.
I press and hold link, copy url, press home button, hit my bookmark (I renamed pop up), then paste the url.
Hope this helps.
You can set the pop-up browser as default and hit the button on the top left to open the page up in the regular explorer.
Only problem is that this will open the stock browser. Which is frustrating if you usually use a third party browser like me!
Does anybody know how to make the top left button in the pop-up browser open Chrome rather than the stock browse?
That would be nice because I have all my data synced to Chrome.

Mine automatically opens in chrome when I click the top left button without setting anything up, I checked and there are no defaults set for either.

How did you accomplish this? Is there a pop up settings menu to set your default browser?
For everyone, floating browser flux in the play store might be an option.

Native Messenger app built-in browser question..

Is there a way to disable it? It's garbage. Is there a way to force links to open in default browser without having to select "open in browser" from the drop down menu?

I agree - I receive job notifications all day via text w/ links in them and on my Note 4 it worked fine, but on my new Note 7 it opens what I presume is a Webview minibrowser that only partially loads, I then had to use the drop down menu to load it into Chrome, which reloaded the page, which finally opened the link into the app that it was associated with in the system to begin with - WTH?!?!
So the only fix I found was to replace the stock app with the Google messaging app -

Go to "Settings" and then scroll down to the "Advanced" section where and tap on "Homepage" to set whatever you want as your home page.
I can set homepage, but if I leave that page overnight, with no activity on my part, it defaults to a new table.

What page are you trying to use? Maybe it's one that expires?

Some sites refresh or log you out after a certain amount of time. But, it wouldn't change to Google. Maybe you're not setting it correctly? Can you screenshot your setting (you can cross/blur the URL if necessary)?
My homepage is set about:blank. Any new tabs goes to Google. Com with bookmarks on that page.

You have Google set as your search engine, so that's why it is on the new tab page (which is not Google dot com). If you change your search engine, you'll have just the bookmarks and news on the new tabs. You also can just tap the homepage button to get to your homepage. If you turn homepage off, you'll get the new tab page in your first tab instead. It is chrome-native://newtab/ .
Interesting. My goal is still to have all tabs default to my homepage.
