Hey all, this isn't a major issue, but whenever I reboot my EVO, the 4G radio turns on. Since I'm, running SwtchPro, I see it and never leave it on too long, but it is a bit irksome. I originally thought it was the ROM when I was running Fresh 3.1, but last night I switched to Baked Snack 1.3 and I still have the same problem. I never use 4G normally so it's off at shutdown, but it turns on at every boot. Anyone have a similar problem or know a fix? I have the latest Radios as of 2.2's release...

I have the same issue if I use launcher pro or adw, the 4g toggle seems the culprit for me. I made a shortcut to the wireless and network tab and turn it on from there, it is an extra step but it works.
Bump... Still having this problem. Currently on Baked Snack 1.3 (1.4 later today) running Netarchy Kernel, ADW Launcher, SwitchPro widget. Every reboot, I see the 4G toggle come on...

Is anybody else having a GPS issue? I am totally unable to get a GPS lock on my slide after i flashed the TeamFenix v2.0 Froyo Rom.
Also is there any other GPS navigation besides the google one that's pretty good?
Im also experiencing a lag to the Screen Rotation on the home screen .
Auto-Rotate Screen is checked off in Display settings. However it takes me a good 5 seconds before switching. Is there anyway to fix that?
My bluetooth is also not working. It's paired up and connected to the device. However, it doesnt ring and I cannot operate it (no talk, answer)
Im running TeamFenix v2.0 which i believe is just a new n better version of the CM6.
mod please move to q & a
A little reading would have revealed that yes it is based off cm6 recent version and that cm6 suffers some gps issues on some versions. Bluetooth does not work on cm6. Try an oc kernal if you havent already to fix your screen rotate lag
Sent from my T-Mobile myTouch 3G Slide using XDA App
it would help to know what oc kernel you are running (if you are running one) and what home launcher you are using (ADW, LauncherPro... ect)
as far as the Bluetooth I answered that for ya a couple of days ago in the #TeamFenix v2.0 thread... until Cyanogen and the rest of #Teamdouche release CM 6.x.x we probably won't see a fix for BT using 2.2
the screen lag SHOULD be able to be fixed by one of a couple easy fixes... if you are running Launcher Pro un-install and re-install. if you are running the latest Dopio OC kernel (3.5) turn off you screen off profile.
for the GPS don't know about 2.0, however I do know it works just fine in TF 1.7.1 (I used it today to find a my newest shipper on my route)
but like I said on Friday if you must have BT then you will have to go back to a 2.1 ROM

hey
As far as kernel, Im running : Dumfuq OC 825-v3.2-legend-cm-2.6.29. Im using LauncherPro.
Okay thanks again, sorry to be a pain, it's just very inconvenient not to have the bluetooth specially when im driving and stuff and hoping there was an alternative but guess not....thx again. I guess u cant have both uh.
Since im using LauncherPro so imma try to uninstall and reinstall as you suggested...will let u know if it fixes the problem.Thx.
As far as GPS, then i guess its 2.0 issue ....cuz it's not working, when using google maps navigation, i keep getting the Waiting for GPS message , no lock watsoever.
I am running CM6 on my slide, and I can get a GPS lock. It's just a little tedious is all. I always have GPS turned off unless I'm using it. So these are the steps I use to get a signal/location lock.
1) Turn GPS on
2) Turn Navigation on and select address
It will never connect for me the first time
3) Exit Navigation and turn GPS off
4) Turn GPS back on and open Navigation
5) Select address again and make sure my phone is on my dashboard or can see the sky, and let it looks for about a minute.
If it doesn't get a location in a minute or so I repeat 3-5. I'm not sure if the phone needs to have a lined sight to the sky, but I know my gfs dads old gps needed it and I just do it to make sure.
Reflash an 806 kernel and your GPS should work. It seems that part of the chipset can't handle more than 806. And it's not that much slower than 825 anyway.

I recently updated to rls 5 - i previously had 4 with no issues. however, now the phone tends to give me the screen that says something like htc incredibly brilliant with warm twopointwo (i think this is similar to when you first load up the phone with it) -- sorry if I'm not describing this correctly.
anyway this is happening semi-frequently and never occurred before and just annoying me now
recently updated PRI to 1.90 and kernel is king's #11. tried a few different kernel's and had the issue on all of them.

Sounds like the you are running something that is interfering with your home app and causing it to frequently close... you will see this screen right before it loads back up, correct??

Craig is right. When the home app fails, it has to relaunch, causing the warm twopointtwo load screen. It's happened to me once or twice. Before my little troubleshooting thing down there, keep in mind that #15 kernels DEFINITELY work with updated sense roms like myn rls5 and mikfroyo 4.3. #15 is Sprint's most updated kernel and you can find ones that have been modded and customized right there in the forums in the development section.
Anyways, if the #15 kernel installation doesn't work:
here's what I'd do.
Do you have a custom home app installed (such as launcher pro or adw launcher)? If so, uninstall and re-install them. If that doesn't help, go back to the stock home and see if the problem occurs there. If not, then you know it's a problem with launcher pro or adw. If it continues or you don't have a custom home app, proceed to step 2.
Step 2 is to backup your apps and data using my backup or titanium backup and do a factory reset (not reflashing the rom, just a factory reset to erase everything). Yes, it's a pain in the ass, but this is how the troubleshooting process is. If it continues after that, go to step 3.
Step 3, reflash the rom as it could've been caused by a corrupted file on a bad flash attempt. Since you already backed everything up in step 2, you won't have to do it again. If the reflash should not work, move onto step 4.
Step 4, the rom download itself is corrupted. Go download it again and reflash it.
If that doesn't work, then I don't know. RLS5 is made to work with PRI 1.90 and all the other updated stuff from Sprint, so if you're completely up to date then I couldn't tell you what the problem was.
Hope that helps.
thanks for the tips, i'll give them a try today. hopefully it clears up
i do notice a lil problem with rls5. Whenever i go to sleep at night (mind you i leave my wifi on, and have my sleep policy set to never turn off my wifi), my phone says its connected to my network, but there is no data being transferred. Exchange sync problems is in the notification bar, and even going through the web browser i know i have no connection.
This wasnt a problem with rls4.

Something similar happens to me, I go to sleep with WiFi on, and when I wake up, I see the 3G icon on top. If I look at the power control widgets, it shows WiFi being on, and when I click it, it says that I'm not diabling WiFi. This has happened to me twice now, I haven't tested to see if it was actually on or not though. Clicking the power control widget again enables WiFi and the correct icon shows up.

ill do it, but i didnt know that my wifi connection had anything to do with my profile..
jut did it and it replied "no profile updates available"
i found a quick solution, i just enabled the wifi sleep policy to like 15 miniutes. So if my phone is going to sleep or on standby, after 15 minutes, it will go to 3g. I know the problem is when its connecting to a network for a long time the wifi freezes. So i just stopped allowing it to do so.
i was running Froyo on my epic for the longest time and i used odin to go back to 2.1 just recently because i missed how smooth it was. i noticed that no matter what i do, my notification light won't work anymore. even when the screens off. im running stock DI18 right now (unrooted) and i have no idea why it hasnt worked. any ideas? they would be greatly appreciated.

Weird, why not run Bonsai, midNIGHT or Viper 2.2 ROMs?
I have been using midNight for about 3 months (since I got my epic for xmas) and it is VERY fast with no lagginess what so ever
Mine didn't work on 2.1 either.
Sent from my Evo Killer!!!
does it work if you odin back to dk28?
try it first and see what happens

Mine has worked on 2.1 stock, 2.1 epic experience, 2.1 noobnls rom and other 2.1 roms ive tried as well as now running bonsai..
i was running bonsai. i switch roms every day until i find one i like. ive run almost all of the dk28 roms at this point. i was running viper with the gingerbread theme with ext4 and i really liked that setup. but the notification led let me stealthily text at work or school so really miss it. i re-rooted my epic and put the latest epic experience for eclair back on my phone and ran phoenix kernel but for some reason the newer builds of that for me make my touchscreen unresponsive whenever it feels like it, so i went back to fluff kernel. however, the notification light still doesnt work. ive tried wiping the phone, using odin to go back to stock, ive tried third party notification led programs, tried playing with the stock settings, installing handcent again and playing with those led settings, and just about everything else i can think of. im thinking there must be something i can run in the terminal emu to make it reset or something. im a pretty avid linux user, but im no expert when it comes to android so this is something slightly out of my expertize. but from googling and browsing xda somewhat, its a growing problem. most people dont care enough to fix it though and like 75% of xda members with epics moved to froyo anyway.
OK, I found some other threads, and they have said to reload the rom, and go through the apps that were installed previously to see what is causing the issue. I've done that and I've gotten all my apps installed no issues for the last 1-2 weeks. My phone went dead and i rebooted now the 4g is turned on by default again. I rebooted again after turning off 4g and it is turned by default again. Is there a settings or some config file that I can change to prevent this from happening.
HW Ver: 3
Sw Ver: 3.70.651.1
ROM: Calkulin's EVio 2 v1.8
Kernal: HTC #15
PRI: 1.77_003
Some applications may affect it. Last time I installed call blocker and 2 other apps (don't remember which 2 right now) and 4G start power up on restarts. I just restore my nandroid backup and that is how I got rid of it. After that I installed call blocker itself and everything is fine.
Did some testing... at end just tried to enable and disable 4G. After that 4G start automaticly on phone restart. So its not any app, it is calkulin rom itself... once you start 4G no metter if you disable, on every next restart will start by itself. Hope fix is coming soon because I hate this, and I dont want to change rom.

This also seems to happen to me. Im running Myn's Warm TwoPointTwo RLS5. I just turn off the 4g. And it doesnt do it all of the time, sometimes when it reboots, 4g will be active, then turn itself off and revert to 3g like it should.
When this happened to me I found out it was due to the notification bar widget controls
This happened to me on a stock Evo, not rooted. I took it to Sprint & they couldn't figure it out. Later, my 4g went out altogether, even without rooting the device. I still don't know why, but they gave me a new one.
First of all, I want to say that I absofreakinglutely love this ROM. I have FINALLY convinced my friends with Evos to root and give this thing a shot because of what this ROM is capable of.
I have two issues that maybe I can get some assistance with. I am running Milestone 4.
First, the GPS just doesn't work. I lose GPS signal instantly and it does not guide me. I have flashed GAPPS, this did not actually put Maps on my phone so I installed it from the market. Any assistance with this would make me pretty much shutup.
Second, there is a lag when I turn on the screen to when the screen actually turns on. I haven't officially timed it, but I would say it is a second, maybe slightly longer. I have turned off all animation. This problem isn't going on 100% of the time, but at least 50%.
Thank you for reading!
Welcome to the world of running Alpha ROMs.
So there isn't anything we can do about these things?

Look into an updated GPS radio. AOKP Build28 ran GPS fine on my handset, apart from GoogleMaps liking to drain battery in the background....I had flashed an updated GPS radio when on CM7.1 last year
