today i was working on my car and my evo was ringing my hands were full so i didnt answer. i watched as the phone ring in the seat beside me and all of a sudden after the person hung up the phone begins like a frozen constant ring then resets its self. it was like in the movies when the person dies in the hospital and the life monitor makes the long noise. i have stock 2.2 rom using the stock ringtone "old phone"
has this happened to anyone else

Put WM6 on not too long ago, and its been fine. Anyhow just like 2 weeks ago it sometimes makes this super annoying beeping sound. And its not a beep for a txt msg (which I would also LOVE to remove the 3 beep crap, maybe make it just one beep, if anyone knows how) but more importantly this new random beeping is driving me nuts. It seems to happen more when Im on longer calls but I may not be 100% on that.
Anyone else ever experience? Ive restarting my phone a few times hoping it would solve it but no go. I could do hard reset maybe? Would rather not but..
Oh and to note versions

Any beep I have during a phone call is because another call is coming in at the same time. This sounds like what's happening to you... "call waiting"

Sounds like a notification "beep during a phone call every 1 minute".
its def not call waiting or battery dying or txt msg or email or anything similar. Ill check the 1min beep but I dont think it happens every minute not to mention that was never turned on. Hell I dont even remember where to turn it on but ill look thru the settings.
Any other ideas? I really dont believe its either of those =(

The only times I've heard such loud beeping is when I'm calling (or being called by) a friend who is on the Sprint network.
Every now and then this loud beep comes up... Very loud, unlike any beep/bong/screech the phone produces... The funny thing is that he doesn't hear it... :/
I assume is some kind of cell signaling that is not being filtered by Sprint...
Maybe it's a roaming alert or something like that.
As far as changing your alert for messages/voice mails, you can do that through the "sounds and notifications" icon under settings.
I sometimes get a beep to remind me that I have a message that I haven't yet opened. At least that's what I think it is.

This is what's been happening to my wife. Everybody that talks with her on the phone, will hear this loud beep. And it's really loud. If you had your stereo headset that came with the 8525 it almost hurts. She doesn't hear anything. At first I thought it was my WM6 ROM or something but it happened to my mother-in-law while on the phone with my wife, and it's happened to me when I call my wife from the company line.
She and I are both on AT&T. Now that I see this thread, I might give AT&T a call.
Yes so heres what ive concluded. I was on a 30min phone call with the woman and at approx 3minutes it made the beep. Not once again after. When I was odne with the call, no notifications (no txt, no email, no missed call, no low battery).
I will note, though, when I got an incoming call while on the phone before I thought the sound was different (may be wrong) but recently I received one while on the other line and the sound it made is the same as the one im hearing, however when i hear it, there are no calls coming in. My phone is stupid maybe and thinks someone is calling =(
May have to hard reset and hard that fixes but dont want to go that route just yet.
You sure you aren't moving the scrollwheel? I a lefthanded person sometimes find myself moving the scrollwheel during a phonecall, this also gives a beep.

I am not hearing a beep on mine but people that I am talking to say they hear a loud beep sometimes only once or twice during a 30 minute call. We are both on AT&T however. They also say they only hear this beep while talking to me. I've changed roms and the beep still occurs I am told.

I've had a couple of odd beeps on calls too. AT&T as well. Running Schaps 4.2.
yesterday my touch hd starting making this beeping sound.like every minite.there is nothing running in the background.i even restarted and its the same.anyone ever had this problem and wishes to share a solution?would try to record the sound and attach it, this way you might have a bette guess what notification it is.

1) My phone automatically uses the speaker when i receive or make a call !

i had the same issue for the last few weeks. i couldn't find a fix so ive just got into a habit of hitting speaker as soon as i make or recieve a call (to turn it OFF speakerphone) But...
the issue has now developed! one i make/recieve a call, and turn off speaker, the speaker continues to flick on and off throughout my call, mainly as it moves, depends on the tilt of the phone during the call. its like an overly sensitive exaggeration of the "flip for speaker" feature, as it happens when its vertical. thing is, ive turned this feature on and off many times to try and resolve it, but it still happens!
has anyone got any ideas that might help???

I have an issue where during a phone call i hear brief moments of silence whilst the receiver hears beeping, this happens around every 15 seconds and the duration of silence lasts around 2 seconds, it takes a good 10 seconds for the call to hang up.
I've checked the head phone Jack it seems clean and can play back audio flawlessly.
Running Pokemon charmeleon rom with franco kernel
Anyone else experiencing this problem?

For me sometimes when the headset is connected and I answer a call, there's no sound for a good 10-15 seconds and I keep saying "hello" like a retard and then I can hear the caller.
There is some sort of problem with headset compatibility for sure. Yesterday I was using this voice assistant called Skyvi with the headset attached, and after removing the headset my phone's mic wouldn't work at all! I had to restart to get my phone's mic working.
What I'm saying is there's a problem with headset detection or the software that makes the sound switch from the handset to the headset imo.
Further testing proves that this only happens when dialling out, not when the call Is incoming

Damn strange! It has happened on incoming calls for me for sure.
There was this another "retarded" thing the handsfree did when I first got the phone, on pressing the button(twice) to change the music track playing, it called the last contacted person. I kid you not, I happened to call two people like that. But never happened after that day.
I have the exact same problem with my HOX, I'm thinking it's a hardware issue, because I have tried different kernels (Franco, faux & stock) and different versions of Revolution ROM by Mike... My phones serial number begins with HT23RW...
This is when I use the handset aka. The phone itself without bluetooth or headphones connected...
So I did some searching on here and the Google, maybe I'm missing the terminology so feel free to do whatever, however, is anyone's phone randomly playing a ringtone when it feels like it? Although soothing, it is annoying. This is the rooted stock JB. I noticed it once while in the vehicle driving, Bluetooth connected, so I figured it was something to do with the connection, and the ringtone was correct, and it might have been a call, however I didn't have any missed calls. I changed the stock ringtone, and the same situation happened to me this morning at my desk. The difference is Bluetooth was off and my phone had just been sitting there, nothing going on....

my ringtone just started playing, once it finished it stopped and all, then i locked unlocked and the default one started playing. I'm on a droid 3 though, running a stock-based rom. Lol this is wierddd.
