Who know where opera stores the bookmarks? Can I add some manualy?
Br,
Chris
I am fairly sure Opera Mini stores bookmarks in a single file not like IE in windows. I think therefore its not possible to easily add book marks to this file without the Opera Program or indeed even to read the file.
Sign in to Opera Link and edit the bookmarks online from your computer. Syncs with Opera Desktop version and Opera Mini/Mobile
They should store them within the app data.

I thought it would be good if there is a way for users to choose what browser they wish to use when clicking on a link in their emails.
Does anyone know of such a utility?
I agree. Or in the RSS feed program. When I click on links there, it opens up Internet Explorer and not Opera, which is what I would prefer.
RSShub was opening Opera until I had to do a HardReset, and now it is Internet Explorer that I really detest. And I don't know how to change this configuration.
I must say that Microsoft did a great bad work on this mobile IE. It is unusable.
I think the following reg. hack will change the default browser : -
Under HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\http\Shell\Open\Command and HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\https\Shell\Open\Command replace with
"\Windows\OperaL.exe" %1

Many thanks for this tip. Unfortunately it does not seem to work for me. Pocket IE is still the browser when web links on mails are clicked. Should it be Opera9.exe rather than OperaL.exe? Edit: nope, Opera9.exe does not work either.
Any more idea?
I have a question regarding the file downloads in Opera Mobile.
I usually open attachments or audio clips from my emails, and it opens up Opera Mobile to download it. However what I notice is once I close opera mobile, I cannot locate where the file is, so in this case I observe how my ROM size gets smaller and smaller.
I know I have the option to save the file to storage card, but what I like to know where do these files go when I dont save them to storage card, and where are they located on my ROM
Thank you
Hmm... I'm not a big user of Opera, but I would assume it would save under the "My Documents" folder in the system memory by default. Like I said, I'm not a big user, just a possible answer.
whenever you download something in opera mobile it always asks you where to save it. just like it does in later versions of ie.
Well I used google voice and some times I listen to the transcripted voice mail, so I open the link to the mp3 file through opera mobile and had to option to open/save/cancel, and I simply picked open directly.
Then it opens up windows media player and plays through the sound file, after I close everything and I checked my ROM size, it was down about 0.3mbs, but I couldn't find the mp3 file anywhere.
Just thought if I keep doing this, in a matter of days it'd use up all my free ROM spaces.
Hello,
After a quick search I wasn't able to find any topics on this subject so apologies if this has been covered already.
Can anyone suggest an app that will enable me to bookmark links on my android and have these sync'd to an online account? I know there are apps that will sync bookmarks with your desktop. I've also tried a few apps that sync with Delicious but none of these allow you to bookmark from within the default android browser. In summary, here's the setup I'd like
- bookmark link from within android browser with ability to tag the link before I save the link.
- view bookmarked links online (with functionality like Delicious)
cheers,
Keith

I use chrome on desktop.
I use chromarks paid version.
You can sync to default android browser.
Google bookmarks accepts delicious now. So you'll be happy.
Thanks mate.
ChromeMarks seems to sync with my local chrome browser ('Bookmark Manager'), not my 'Google Bookmarks'. I've recently discovered that Google Bookmarks doesn't sync with bookmarks that have been saved within Google Chrome (present within 'Bookmark Manager').
So, how have you managed to get ChromeMarks to sync with Google Bookmarks instead of Bookmark Manager?
Just an observation... I've noticed is that after exporting my bookmarks from Chrome, and trying to import them into Google Bookmarks... I discovered that you can't do it directly - only through Delicious. How bizarre!
Yes.. I thought I had a line that said
Chrome bookmarks are not google bookmarks and gb are not cm.
Pick one and stick with it. google or chrome books...just export from delish to chrome.
Export google books to file. Import to chrome. Stop using google books. Start using chrome entirely and no conflicts.
If you use all kinds of browsers... do ONE full export from all and then iONE import of those into chrome. Then stop using any and all bookmark sites and just pick one bookmark method and stick with it and you've got a commitment.
This is just how id do it if I were to PICK chrome bookmarks as my master bookmarks method.
Fyi the chrommarks sync to native browser doesn't seem to work inb gingerbread yet. It doesn't seem.
I've always been a fan of Maxthon Android Web Browser but it was never my #1 because it wasn't "quite there". Well it looks like is now "there".
The list of all the things this browser does well is too long to go into here. But suffice it to say it is VERY fast, looks gorgeous and does an amazing job of organizing bookmarks and syncing them with the cloud. It also "preloads" links in the background like the stock browser does so when you click a link on an open page the new page opens instantly. Also going back to previous pages is very fast.
One thing this browser does that the stock browser doesn't is to "save your place" in your bookmarks when you go back to them. That way if you click on a bookmark 3 folders deep, it is still in that folder when you return as opposed to the stock browser which returns you to the top layer every time (annoying).
Anyway check it out in the Market (https://play.google.com/store/search?q=maxthon+browser). I prefer the layout and handling of the Maxthon Android Web Browser as opposed to the Maxthon HD For Tablets.
** I am in no way associated with Maxthon Browser or promoting them for my own benefit. I just think it's a great browser.

Am I missing something incredibly obvious or is there no way to import my Google bookmarks into Maxthon? Because it sure seems like there isn't unless I'm forced into using there browser on the desktop as well.
I have about 300 bookmarks...and no way am I recreating them manually.
I'm not sure because I'm not in front of my pc but I think you need to import them on your desktop then sync them from the cloud with your phone. Not hard.
Although I don't believe they will continuously sync in the future as of course Maxthon wants you to use Maxthon.

Yes, it is easy to import your Chrome bookmarks into Maxthon.
Just download the Maxthon Browser to your desktop and sign up for a Maxthon Passport which is like your free cloud account. Then open the browser and click on the menu looking button at the top right and then click on the star. That will open your Favorites Manager. Click on the 3 vertical dots at the top and select import/export bookmarks. Then select "import Chrome" and there you go.
Next you will need to sync your bookmarks with the cloud then sign in on your phone and sync them there.
Boom, Chrome bookmarks on Maxthon. Easy.

Thx much.
One very broken behavior is Maxthon handling of bottom of page text fields and onscreen keyboards...meaning other browsers like stock or Opera Mobile scroll the field above the keyboard area whereas Maxthon doesn't.

Dude, with favorites/tabs that synch amongst your devices, there is going to be uploads. It now has UUMail, which gives you your own server you name anything you want to create shadow mails to use for your real email addy! + not only makes webpages completely offline for viewing + snapshots you can extract pics/videos and modify them for use in other projects. I'm just on here trying to see what would be the best way to get users into this online community forum with the MX5 so people that have knowledge of android, and what apps can/need to do in the os enviroment can give them proper feedback to finish this product up. What their getting in feedback now is a joke!
Saw someone on the forum mention Maxthon browser so decided to check it out, it's actually really fast. However I can't seem to get it to sync bookmarks with the desktop and the addon I downloaded for it to bookmarks fails to login to google, does anyone know any other way to get chrome's bookmarks to sync with it?

Maxthon can only sync with its own desktop version browser. Personally I prefer Maxthon rather than chrome on desktop, it has better basic functions like built-in adhunter, screen snap, webkit/IE engines, video downloader etc.
Yeah I installed the desktop version, created an account, signed into both, imported bookmarks on desktop version, but it still won't sync to mobile.
