[Q] Lagging in ALL KINDS of music player after flashing samset1.9 - Galaxy S I9000 Android Development

Where is the music located? /Sdcard or /sdcard/sd ? using the Ext4 fix might slow down /sdcard/sd music files as its using the ext4 partition as kind of swap/data . But other then that I can't think of another reason, maybe you should flash to samset 1.9b ?

I have the same but i am using jm2 with mimocan. Music is located on internal sd card. Phone is super speedy and I never experience any lag so this lag while playing music was pretty unexpected.

I flashed it to 1.9b but using the kernel provided by samset. My musics are also in the internal sd. The problem just persists.

The problem is fixed when I am not using samset's kernel.

I had this. Just like the 1.2ghz OC kernel it causes a sound glitch every other time you touch the screen (try it).
Music by itself is fine, but it makes it annoying to browse the internet while listening.
Their kernels also cause the dreaded wakeup lag

Moving apps from SD to internal memory

Is it possible? I'm using Mixzing as musicplayer and I'm experiencing some occasional stuttering. I suspect this has to do with Mixzing being located at the SD-card along with all the music and when it reads from the memorycard while playing it causes a conflict.
I've tried tons of ROMs (both on Desire and Hero) and I've had the same issue with them all (at least when using app2sd).
So can I move Mixzing from the ext3 partition to the internal memory somehow?
(Please move this thread if necessary)
I would love to know this too. Not that i need it, just feel like its something that's good to know, just in case.

[Q] Music player bug

The problem is while i'm listening to music and open the gallery app the player stops the song and start the next.
I am on stock rom and using stock music player, could this be because my memory card? Or just too bad phone for multitasking?
Thanks!

its not the multitasking bad phone for sure.. that's what i can say... i do that and much more all the time....
move your music player to phone memory, then you will be sure its not the memory card
and as the last step try another music player... there are many good ones ... i personally use Uber Music

The music player and the gallery app is on the internal storage, maybe i try to reformat my card, on my desire, recording 720 also lagged, then i reformated my card with 32 swap and now it works.
Ok so i find it out, the gallery app listed some avi files which caused the problem, i put a .nomedia file inside the videos folder and now it works.

htcmediacacheservice freezing my video playbacks

Since I bought my phone I have trouble playing videos in gallery, I finally found what is bugging the playback (electric sound and FC) it's an app called ''htcmediacacheservice'', when I kill this app in Task Manager the video playbak is good but after some trials this app will come back again bugging videos.
Am I the only one to have this buggy service/app?
Deleting it in titanium backup would be good?
Still running stock rom with 1.28

i have the stutter but its not common most of the time play fine and sometimes just go crazy
i guess you just found a solution
I just updated using the 1.29 RUU and currently restoring everything
ill report if the bug is gone
I think this app is here to ''help'' the video player with cache, but sometimes this cache get's buggy or the app itself is not stable,I have found a list of ''deletable'' apps in Sense and this one can be deleted without affecting stability

lol bro half day into your new hox and you already discovering stuff! good job
gallery runs videos using the saver core, so lets hope this is unrelated
what is ''saver core''?
Do you think it's bad ram?
5th battery saver core of Tegra3 to save battery it
its runs in the default video player to play h264 videos and when the screen is turned off
my offer still stands
Hi,
I think I'm having same issue with video playback. It runs most of the time smooth, but sometimes sound "clicks" and video pauses for some part of a second and run further ok. I killed that cache media service mentioned before but it didn't help. Any idea what else can be wrong?
I'm on stock 1.29 rom.
I had the exact same problem with my HOX, happy watching a video and then it would just suddenly stop for no reason at all. I'll have to try this fix when I get my new HOX if the problem hasn't been sorted.

Upgraded to 1.29,rooted,flashed Leedroid...till now no problems in video playback

Xperia S JB's doomlord leak:music stuttering

Hello guys,as per title i'm experiencing music stuttering even on JB(given that it might be the leak's fault as it isn't complete yet)the same as ICS(meaning stuttering with FB browsing twitter ecc ecc) but the multitasking is improved beyong possible and anything is perfect,i really don't know what to think.
I didn't posted this in the leak thread because it's so crowded my post wouldn't even be read.
thank for the help(if there's any)
cheers
Dave
Walkman is really heavy. When I was light running the leak (read it: only a few essential apps installed) no stutters at all (and I mean it: not a single stutter), maybe the music stopped playing due low RAM but that was it. With Walkman and PowerAMP, sutter is almost gone.
"almost gone">that's what i don't get. My friend's xperia sola doesn't have this kind of problems neither my 2010 desire hd do.
On top of that the free ram now is like doubled on jb so i don't understand how can the music player stutter.
Thanks for the help though i'm trying to use Gplay music let's see if anything change.

yes i get what "almost gone" mean,i just don't get how a dual core 1(not quite)gb of ram device has stuttering problem and a 2 years old phone(desire HD)doesn't.
Neutron Music Player
I'm using Neutron Music Player on my XPERIA LT26i with Leaked JB 4.1.2 and I have no problems that I can hear.
Even when the screen is off the player is fine and doesn't lose focus.
Don't even need a SetCPU profile to maintain priority as Neutron Music Play must(haven't really checked) lock in a 'required' CPU frequency to support continued and smooth playback, thus overriding lower screen-off CPU frequencies.
Google Play downloaded music plays at 64bit(indicated???) and 320KB/sec and I don't remember hearing anything odd,
Most of my wav and flac music (16 -24bit) streamed off my NAS sounds fine.
I stream 720p TV and videos(mkv H264,AC3) using BSPlayer from my NAS and they play without any lag or 'stutters' and with videos, you'd hear/see anything odd pretty quickly.
AND all this is with the default leaked JB CPU governors(ondemand) and scheduler(cfq).
Think what we could have when DoomLord and others go wild with bespoke Kernels.
I have approx 240 - 300MB of memory available
I've removed about 70 system apps/bloatware.
Calendar, Mail, WhatsApp are the only network background service processes I have running.
I'd probably delete the supplied Sony Music player on released JB version if that doesn't present any problems as I never use it.
The XPERIA S with Leaked JB seems, in general, to be very responsive with no lag, that I've noticed.
I have an XPERIA X10i v2.3 and even over-clocked it still has issues with lag. BUT, again with Neutron Music Player and a 64GB microSD card music is fine on an XPERIA X10i,
So, with music, I'd suggest, the limitation of a given Android device could be compensated with a good Music application.
I note on leaked XPERIA S JB 4.1 that the music player currently being used has focus on the lock screen and that could be Neutron Music Player or XiiaLive Internet Radio player. Very handy for quick music control of the active player directly from the lock screen.
Currently listening to music while 16 app are open (fb tweet 2 browser ecc)with neutron music player and everything looks fine for now. I want to try using walkman app to see if it's the same.
Tried gplay music and NMP with the same opened app and no stutters with nmp i'll try it for a few days thanks for the help for now

Even super low end Samsung Galaxy Y that my friend use doesn't have shuttering problem in music player. .ZZZZzzzzz
I think something is wrong with NXT series apps..
My friends Arc don't have this problem in Stock ICS but when he rooted n flashed NXT series apps like Walkman n all, music shuttering started just like my XS.. We can blame the Walkman app in my friend's case but every other music app is having shuttering problem (same as XS) since he flashed it... Something is wrong..
Precisely my point! even low end devices don't stutter (not that i know of).
I don't know who(or what) to blame though as i tried flashing cyanogen mod and p.a.c but no luck, stutter was always there no matter what.
Cheers
Dave

myONEv RC9.5 FX+ (Video playback issue)

I'm sorry if I had to start a new thread instead of just replying to the main thread because I just made this account a few days ago cause my I forgot the email/password of my old one
The ROM involved with this issue is ckp5v's myONEv RC9.5 FX+
Anyway, I found a bug while using my phone, which is running on the aformentioned ROM; whenever I try to play a movie (around 720p 1.1+ bitrate 900 mb big) it plays for a few seconds (about 1 to 2) then a pop up comes up and says "Sorry this video cannot be played". I know its not the phone's capability because I have another unit of the same phone (with stock ROM and Kernel; unrooted) and it plays seamlessly. I tried using alternatives, like VLC, but it either becomes laggy or pixelated. I tried using all the techniques to speed up the system but nothing happens.
I'm just wondering if this is a known bug or if it isn't is there any fix to this? I really really love this rom and I don't want to change it, cause it's the most stable out there, aside from this minor issue. I just hope that there's a fix, and thank you very very much for your great work! :good:
Hello? Anyone out there? Please?
Have not had that problem when using this ROM.I ran it for about a month and played lots of video from SD card, over my lan through es file explorer, and streamed from the net (usually over WiFi).I use mobo player. So, cannot reproduce it.
Usually, I had over clock to 1.2ghz using smartass and cfq
try MX Video Player
