I have flashed Serbian, Russian, Chinese, Asian, Arabic roms in my Galaxy S. At this rate, probably my phone has more countries than the whole united nations.

Has the contact bug fixed in this ROM. Try saving "Default number" in the contact app. This gives force close in JM2 and JM5.
Please tell me if its fixed. Then only i will try this ROM.

Open "pre installed contact app">select any contact>press "menu soft button">select "Mark as default">choose the mobile number(radio button)>click on save.
This process gives force close on JM2. Although default number is saved but it gets annoying if you have many numbers. its very small bug though.

Fast and Stable, but some apps stop volume speaker and microphone from working
Talking Tom is an app I really like but on this build, it does not work, it works on the 2.2 build, but can you make it work on this build, it opens, but freezes up and you have to quit and once it quits, sound and microphone stops working.
Thanks

Ey your rom looks really nice but im a bit noob the files in the zip should go to my root of sd card right? But why do i need to make an ext2 partition if there is a ext2 file? i also noticed that this is on xdandroid 2.2 too... so i dk how to run it

Yes, extract the files to the root of your SD. This build does not require an ext2 partition.

The ext2 file is basically an ext2 file system compressed into one file that is blown up when the system runs (as I understand it...)

[ROM] [GSM] Roto JMI Pre-Rooted Firmware v2 [Feb 4, 2011]

All the files are here:

Note:Please backup your apps and settings with Titanium Backup from the market.

gonna try this out..thanks.
Sent from my samsung tab
Sweet. Going to try this in a bit. I didn't get a chance to perform the upgrade on JMG to see if that would solve the Wi-Fi issues. Hope JMI does!
just did a clean flash and will see how it runs! JME v4 was rocking for me prior to this.

So far so good. Maybe I'm mistaken, but damn this firmware is fast! Really fast!
I had the wifi issue since I got the tab even with the stock fware... I hope it gets solved soon. It prevents some apps to do nighttime leeching of podcasts and such... Once it did it over 3g and almost ate all of my data plan. With JMG the problem seems bit worse, it happens more often... Will try JMI tomorrow, man gotta sleep when man gotta sleep
P.S. The battery life with JMG seems significantly improved over JME
voicemail notification
Just flashed the rom and yeah i feel the speed, but how to remove the voicemail notification..
second that voicemail icon, see it and cant get rid of it
also is the market app an older version? looks not soo cool when compared to JMG...
flashed it again and still have the same problem, guess have to wait for a upgrade or something....
wipe everything & made a full flash, modem switcher works as usual, seems this rom really runs faster... so far so good. thanks again, Roto!!

Flashed back from MoDaCo+ext to Roto-JMI-Full-v1 with no problems (flashed Roto-JMI-Full-v1.tar + P1_add_hidden.pit + Bell I9000UGJK4 radio with Odin1.7).
Rom seems very snappy so far.
Haptic buttons auto-dim and screen times out as normal.
Just flashed this firmware and indeed it's fast. however is it normal no PDA and CSC when u pressed? *#1234#?
Thanks Roto!

Yup, that's normal. It doesn't actually do any harm, so just forget about it
This is a great firmware, and yes, it's pretty damn fast. But all the firmwares seem fast once they're freshly installed... so I'll wait a couple of days and then see. That's the true test!
Anyway, I have a question for all you Tab'ers out there;
Have you noticed that while you're watching a video, the button backlights NEVER turn off?
If this is true and the bug belongs to the firmware (and not the fool using it) then is there some way to correct it? It's quite distracting when I'm watching a fine comedy in bed, trying to fall asleep, with these bright, white icons burning my eyeballs out
Thanks to Roto, by the way, for this REALLY fast package. My hero.
How do you check asian tab, euro tab? I have australian tab, how do I cheeck my tab belong to??
Sorry I'm noob Whare Pit file??

[12.September.2011][MOD]|Full Arabic Support for Gingerbread 2.3.3 (Overcome)

This mod will install full Arabic support on Galaxy Tabs running Overcome 3.1.0 [Kratos] (may work on earlier editions but no guarantees- try at your own risk!)
This is a CWM flashable zip and it includes a script to wipe dalvik cache after installation so all you need to do is install in CWM and reboot
We now have proper Arabic support with reading and the stock Gingerbread Arabic keyboard is also included for input support
After installing, make sure the input method is set to Samsung Keypad (default) and press the Settings key to the left of the Go key. In the next screen, tab Input Language and select Arabic then press the back key twice. You will now have an Arabic keyboard
Note: This has been tested on Overcome 3.0.0 [Kratos] but may work on others.
Please report if you get it working on other ROMs and I will add a note

Well yes. This patch does change the framework. If you want stock Gingerbread then the path I would recommend is to flash the stock theme patch, reboot at least once and then flash the arabic patch. You can get both patches from teamovercome.net in the Downloads section. I tried that combination yesterday and it works fine

To be honest it's just a matter of finding of finding, extracting, deodexing and zipaligning the keyboard from a compatible stock ROM that has the language you need. Once you are sure the files work, you can package them in a flashable zip to make it easy to apply. This will also patch the framework and other system files and that's why I stress the need for compatibility.

[ROM] enhanced236 - Paypal issue

Dear,
Yesterday I have installed the enhanced236 ROM.
I can't find or install Paypal from the market or the Paypal-site.
What i tried bymyself:
Install an other ROM (GIO Speedo and Light Orange); I don't have this issue. I can install Paypal
Today i went back to the enhanced236 MOD and i have again the problem: No Paypal. Not from the market not from the site.
message:
This device is not compatible
-Did I something wrong?
-Is there anything I can do to have paypal on my Gio with the enhanced236 MOD?
This is my first message so I hope it is posted in the correct forum. Don't shoot me when it's not.
I can install it just fine over here on my ROM ... You can try one of these methods here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1397661.

Thank you for your quick response.
I tried option 1 and 3.
Both solutions don't work for me.
I can find it in the market but still the message: Not compatible wit your device
Don't know if it's the case, but have you wiped data/reset during installation?
Or, it may have something to do with the CSC - default in the ROM is a romanian one, and since you obviously have another provider, it may conflict.
You can try to find a CSC for your country/operator and manually install it (copy the files to /system partition); unfortunately, automatic CSC selection only works with stock recovery and RFS filesystem.

WOW............ thats sounds new for me. This will take some more time.
I will google for a new CSC and after that i will try.
Please have some patience for a response, as i said: this will take some time and understanding. Since this week i tried to install a custom rom so i have to learn a lot.
Again, Thank you.
Your help is appreciated!
Sorry for bad english
Maybe you can download a modded play store on xda. I had the same problem when I tried cm9

Remember that most CSC changing guides use the automatic way (dial a certain code etc.) - it will not work on roms that use other recoveries/filesystem format. I can help you to manually add your CSC after you find the appropiate one.
Hint: look for a firmware for your country or even branded for your operator, if it exists. You can extract from there.

I think i have to give it up. This is, on this moment, a level too high. Maybe I have to install another ROM like Light Orange or so. It's also a nice ROM and a high antutu benchmark. Light Orange = 1824, Enhanced236 = 1835
Both ROMS are fast. The enhanced236 looks nicer........

Not quite sure but do you mean when you click the "mic" button on the software keyboard and then you can talk to enter words? Its builtin I believe but could happen that you just need to go to settings and then "language & input"? (not sure of the exact word since I dont have english language on my phone) and in there set the language at the voice options. If not then it should be downloadable from google play if you just search for it.
Not sure if it helps you but I have tried atleast
