Ever since I updated to the vanilla rooted Froyo OTA (market issue fixed version) 2 days ago, everything has been working great. The only issue I have seen is that I don't get any notifications when there's an update available for an app that I have installed.
Does anyone else get this? Is there some setting somewhere that I need to enable to start getting these notifications? I thought this was default behavior?

Hopefully this is the correct section to post this.
I'm running Facebook for Android 1.5.0 on my Desire HD (pre-installed, running the stock ROM), and when I enter the app, it updates right away and just fine, no probs at all.
But when I use the widget, the status updates don't update. It does however update how long ago the status updates that are displayed, were posted.
If I clear data and force close the app and then set it up again (I have set it to NOT sync my contacts, as Facebook for Sense is already doing this), it updates fine, sometimes for a couple of hours, sometimes more, then it stops updating again and I can start all over.
Any idea what's going on with this? Anybody else experiencing the same?

I'm currently having issues with a few apps where the notifications don't appear :S
I've contacted the app support, They don't know.
I've contacted Google support, They don't know.
My question is: Have I messed something up internally? I've tried using returning to Stock completely(Both 4.3.* and 4.4)(No custom recovery etc) using Wugfresh, So that rules out the Custom ROM causing problems(I think).
Apps I've noticed missing notifications: Hay Day(Game, VERY new to my account - Only been playing for a few days), ON Air TV Guide(These just randomly stopped coming through to me).
I don't use any sort of task killer, I've tried leaving the applications in my Recent menu.
They are enabled in the App settings to receive Notifications.
I'm out of ideas and Google support didn't help.
Anyone know of this problem or a fix?

Anyone else having an issue with apps not auto updating? I have auto update enabled, but it is not working and eventually I will get a notification like just now that says I have 28 apps with updates and I have to manually initiate the updates.

Anyone else having an issue where the Google App just crashes while you are scrolling through the feed? Just started happening to me within the past few days. My Google app was updated yesterday. (version 9.27.3.21.arm64) But I believe it was occurring prior to that as well. Not particularly crippling issue - but certainly annoying. I haven't found any mention of it here on XDA or Google Forums or reddit...so just trying to determine if it is unique to me or if anyone else has noticed before I spend too much time troubleshooting. Particularly with a new security patch incoming next week and Google app getting updated constantly....

I had that happen a few months ago. Then one day it just stopped.
I had it crashing too, yesterday.
Then an update appeared in the Play Store and it apparently fixed the problem.
If yours keeps crashing, try installing a beta (or any newer version) from ApkMirror

Thanks so much for the reply and peace of mind. I'll wait for the update. Not so urgent an issue that I need pull the .apk down. Just glad to know I wasn't alone and a solution is on the horizon. Thanks!
Hi all, today I received a Google Play notification which asked for a restart. I did the restart, but I have no idea what may have changed, be it security wise or whatever. Has anyone received such update notifications? I am aware recent Android versions can receive updates this way, I'm just curious about what has been updated.
T-Mobile variant, stock OS, not rooted.
