I'm running software version 1.32.651.6. I didn't apply the second over the air update and have my phone setup to manually check for updates and when I check for updates it says that my phone is up to date. I know were waiting for Froyo but I don't even have a choice to get the last ota update. Anyone know why this is?
Find it on shipped roms website.

I should be presented with the last OTA update that I never installed. Just wondering why its not showing up when I check for updates. I'm not talking about froyo.

Just got notified of an available update on my desire (orange stock froyo)
The update is to 2.17.61.3, any ideas what this brings along? Only changes to the market pre-gingerbread?
/lys
Well, go for it and let us know what changed. I'm on 3, but it's always good to see what updates other people get.

Just got the update and nothing obvious has changed. The changelist displayed on the update only mentioned the market.
I'll see if I notice anything different with usage...
Is this update after the froyo update? Usually market updates are done silently without the user even being asked about it. Check your software version is it 2.2? Or have you been updated to 2.2.1?
Still 2.2 but the build number is different. It was a small 4mb update.

I just made the update too, can't say I have noticed anything new!

Bump
Sent from my HTC Desire using XDA App
No point bumping, it's just a few small bug fixes...not a lot added to the main OTA that went out before
Ok cheers for that.

I know many people hate this app, but I am running the new Market and it says there is an update to Facebook but when I click on it I only have the options to open or uninstall the app. Anyone else having this issue?
I think you should try going back to the old market, wait for Google to put out the update automatically over the air.

Thanks for the Advice, but this was the only app that I have seen it do that on. All other aps have updated just fine. Also I bypassed it going to the Market via my web broswer and installing it that way.
That's a good idea... I prefer watiting for updates... That's just me though.

Its saying the same thing for me. But in the what's new area of the app it says version 1.6.0. Twitter is saying same thing about an Update
The new 2,4 update seems to be coming up. However I am not even able to see the update option in the status menu. Is this normal? I am running 2.3.3 build 4.

As with all android updates, the phone company releases the update first to generic versions and to carriers to add their own software (bloatware crap) so each carrier takes their time to release it when/if they want. ie: in Mexico we haven't even gotten the xLoud update from 2.3.3 but plenty others did and now some even got the 2.3.4. It's a waiting game where we can't use the dpad
TL;DR You have to wait till your carrier releases the update for you whenever they want.

You probably deleted the update center from your phone. Mine is gone too but since I've an unlocked bootloader, I don't mind.

God bless you stranger I have restored the option in my menu with titanium backup.
I have version 3.8.17 of play store, but the smart updates feature which downloads only updated portions of apks doesn't seem to work. Every time an app is updated the entire apk is downloaded, just like in the past. Do i have to change any settings anywhere?

I believe the developer of the app you are updating has to support this feature as well. They will have to deploy the update using this method and with it being brand new im sure many have not done this yet.

In Google I/O i heard them saying developers don't have to do anything special for smart updates..hmmm who knows!

Try to update and stay on the update screen, sometimes you will see that it starts updating before finishing the whole download, for example I just update Google maps and after 40% download it update, maybe that's how it works I'm not sure

No sign of the OTA here. I've been checking every few hours, but the System Updates dialog insists I'm up-to-date.

You will see the update and it will prompt to install but it will fail because the OTA's are very sensitive to change. They require the exact stock rom from the latest version before kitkat i believe. Since youve removed the Zappos app, it will definitely fail. This is why majority are going back to stock just to get the kit-kat update.
again

Really you just need to use RSDLite to return to stock. Depending on all you have done you may need to modify the .XML file in the image, but its very easy and just uses Notepad.

Try this:

That's what worked for me. Just edit the .xml in notepad and remove the lines he says PLUS remove the line that mentions .tz. Don't forget that one as well even though he does not list it.
REMOVE LINE WITH .TZ AS WELL.
